i dont know if this is a small flaw in both or just perfect imitation, but i have this app called ProSwitcher on my jailbroken iphone 3g and that, like the pre, lets you run multiple applications at the same time. it also keeps them open if you dont manually close them, like the pre! (dont give this a thumbs down because im an iphone, thats not the point of this comment)

Yes. Theres and app store that you can look at on the palm site (games included), and there is a web browser that cnet says is faster than the one on even the 3G S. Good luck

well I just got the Pre and I'm on the fence. The lack of apps is ridiculous. But what's worse is the lack of contact and calendar synchronization with anything but Google and Exchange. No iCal/Mail support, not even Entourage or Outlook (non-Exchange). Have you heard anything on these fronts?

it has auto correct and a virtual keyboard but no video . I love the phone , also the touch screan response for me has been stellar . One more thing , if you turn off the GPS your battery will improve greatly unless of cores  you use it

Im glad someone else feels about the pre like i do, and sprint is actually doing more to get new customers and keep exisiting customers. The biggest update is coming this christmas that is an on-screen keyboard with auto correction. I noticed in one of your earlier videos there was no plan to have one for it, so im glad to let you know that it is coming before the end of the year also the app catalog plans to have at least 100 applications available.

I have an LG Lotus. I'm used to cramped keys. I cannot wait till I can upgrade and get a pre. It will be a welcomed improvement. I've been a fan (not obsessed like some people so obviously are) of apple for years and never really took notice of palm. Until the announcement for the pre. I can honestly say that I love every and all aspects of the pre. I never cared for the iPhone. And certainly never will now :)

I'm not sure what the technical name of it is, but the pre uses the same type of headphone jack as iPods, Zunes, etc.

I think you have to have the internet plan on it, since the entire phone is run off of the internet (hence the name...WebOS ;P).

I think that I won't mind some of the things that you didn't like, like the autocorrect, because I've had a Treo 700w for about a year, and I'm used to correcting myself, lol. Also, the tiny keyboard I wont mind, cuz once again, the treo had a small one too. I can't wait to watch movies and web browse on it, it looks great! :D

In case you don't have it yet, lemme tell you that I LOVE it! I've had mine for a couple of weeks, and it's awesome. I'm not a very business-type of person, and I still use it a lot. I watch movies and listen to music/podcasts all the time. Check Twitter with Tweed. Check engadget with Web. And of course, watch YouTube ;)

I wont be replacing my iPhone till the development on the Pre increases but the Pre is a gem of a phone and Web O.S is definitely one of the best Mobile operating systems out there !

my favorite feature is by far is the cards UI makes using a phone feel like a Desktop type of experience ! the Search is nice too

as far as batterylife goes ! carry a spare

they are cheap and easy to carry

and will get you through a day even with heavy use

First off, You have tremendous quality in your videos. Second, I love the "activity cards" feature of the Palm Pre and feel this is something Apple should integrate into the iPhones at some point. I was going to get a Pre but have had it with Sprint service in my area. I can't even keep a signal in my own house...and I live 20 minutes away from the Sprint World Campus! Little bit of irony there... and to people thinking Palm will kill the iPhone...get real. Even if the Pre had way more features and power, it still wouldn't stand a change against Apple. Apple is too good at advertising. This draws in more customers, which in turn draws in Developers, because that is where the money is...

Well i had a little time to play around with the palm pre, and its a great device but! The battery life is excuse me for my language its shit! and again sorry but it had be charged twice a day and the touch stone charger is twice as slow to charge then just plugging it in to the wall.

I believe it can do video, but no auto focus. It was made for photos, so your video probably won't look that great. I should expect that from a phone, so I already bought my own HD cam if I wanted to film anything. Though, it is handy to film stuff nicely on the go. But it shouldn't be much of a problem.

It's quite the contrary on where I live. AT&T gives me their WORST phone coverage, and NO 3G coverage within miles and miles of my house. But I get Sprint's BEST phone coverage and 3G coverage within miles and miles of my area, MUCH different than AT&T's coverage here. I also heard from other phone users in the area that Sprint is really the way to go. So, Palm Pre it is.
