Having a new hockey league as good as the KHL is good for the sport so i'm all for it. But realistically, they can't compare to the NHL. The arenas hold 6 000-10 000 people with cheaper ticket prices. Normal seats in Toronto can cost $150+, and they always have a sell out crowd. What are they for KHL games,$25? And sure you have players that get signed to the NHL from the KHL, but not as good throughout the entire league like the NHL. I do hope it does well, but as of now, it's not even close.
@urrahfag agreed man. The one thing I really do like about the KHL though is that the rinks are wider which allows players to use speed and puck handling skills as more of an advantage and open up the play more. In NHL more play is based around cycling around boards and grinding and all that and I'd like to see rinks more like how KHL one's are.

Don't get me wrong on this because the players in the KHL are great hockey players. But, I heard the arena's in the KHL only hold 10,000 at the most. Most games aren't averaging over 9,000 a game. The money won't last long to pay the players like the NHL does. The players that are leaving the NHL to play in the KHL are the ones that are washed up stars. Federov, Jagr. They are still good players, but were getting less ice time in the NHL . They want to play more so they signed with the KHL.

But biggest teams can attract players in KHL with money. That's the big deal. For example, Ak Bars Kazan have so much money, because their owner's have big oil/gas companies, like Tatneft. Russia must to develop environment, because before that the best players goes and stays in NHL.
