@Austrelopitecus I know that is fucking stupid when a band comes before another band and I mean like 5 years plus and in this case judas priest released their first album 6 years before Maiden put out an album and then people have their story backwards. people need to do learn atleast some background on the subject before they post comments and act as if they are experts on the matter. Priest put out 5 albums before Maiden put out one. Maiden is a good band but I think I like priest more.

You almost wonder if it's about something that really happened to them. When asked about the song in the documentary "Dream Deceivers", Rob kind of shrugged it off and said he never found the lyrics particularly meaningful, though that's pretty hard to believe really. The line about the single sonic sound and holding on to the note is absurdly profound... This whole song is just on a whole other level. Anyway, I know Rob just likes to write sci-fi themed lyrics, but it's fun to imagine.

Some agree that it's about drugs( Dreamer Deceiver) and the second half he realizes that he has been deceived and can't escape(Deceiver). Another interpretation is of the hippy lifestyle where they were naive and didn't care about what they were protesting about anymore and just lived the lifestyle, but the second half is the realization that they were deceived by the lifestyle and didn't make a difference at all while Rob Halford himself said that it was about an alien abduction.
