@snowlee09 2 different dialects. To me Mandarin sounds more sofisticated than Cantonese. A bit like the difference between english spoken by someone from Scotland versus spoken by someone from England. On paper you understand, in speach it's difficult.

early on in his career, he wasn't very good at enunciating when he sang. two stupid things happened as a result.

1) young generation and some media outlets said it is his "style" when he was flat out just unable to enunciate in each song with fast tempos that his hits were.

2) older generation dislike him because they can't understand what hes saying/singing and media as well criticized him for that too.

uhh, a piece of advice out of goodwill. Jay's pronounciation is really not very good. if u want to get the better pronunciations, its better if u learnt Han Yu Ping Yin first, then practicing with other songs like David Tao's before going on to Jay's.
