  • Cream are one of the all-time great rock bands. Shame they didn't want to go on a little longer but I guess that's the fickle nature of rock n roll.

  • The mindblowing riffs of Clapton and the powerful rhythm section of Bruce and Ginger--what better do you need?

  • Timbre, evidently you ddn't know that what I just said comes from Bruce and Clapton themselves. They attended a Hendrix performance in January 1867 and that night wrote the song inspired by what they saw. It is almost universally acknowledged that Hendrix is the originator of this genre. I was just responding to people who claim Cream originated this style. This not to take anything away from them. I love this song. But you have to give credit where credit is due.

  • @dissimulate666

True Statement I'll Throw In a 1967 The song came out As Their First Hit in 1968 at

#36 on the US Charts It was Creams Best Selling Song Clapton Wrote The Chorus I've Been Waiting So Long Atlantic Records 1st Rejected The Song Booker T Jones & The Mg's Heard Them Rehearsing & Recommended That Atlantic Produce it & They Did Pete Brown also worked with the band (he was a poet) but received no

credit on this song Jimi Hendrix was the Leader but Cream followed suit Great Music!!

  • @dissimulate666 compltete BS .They were up all night in the studio one particular night & the observations by the exhausted Bruce to Brown & engineers Dowd "... It's getting near dawn ".etc.Hendrix was still with the Isley bros.when he saw what Cream had already been doing in late 1966" friendo".Both Clapton & Bruce are too self deprecating in their praise for Hendrix. In truth,it was Randy "California" & John Mclaughlin that were the gods in need of no amp humping or Ronson ligher fluid

  • @TumbrelJockey Hendrix left the Isley Brothers back in 1964. You got your facts screwed up.

  • @dissimulate666 The one concession ,he was doing sessions & toured with the Squires-one incongruity isn't enough to validate your claim re:"Sunshine 's origin" or the indisputable fact of Cream forming first in mid 66 developing the power trio concept .Jimi was a showman primarily flash ,Ronson & volume plus the 'novelty" factor.Eric has been the target of criticisim that he relied on cliche's ,Hendrix relied on massive feedback & distortion to disguise his cliched' riffs.

  • @TumbrelJockey Face it, you were exposed talking out of your ass. You don' t know what you are talking about and you prove even more in your latest response. Compare Clapton's lead in this song with anything Hendrix did. Hendrix is hand down the better blues and rock player. Clapton would agree. Hendrix left England having changed their music scene. Everybody wanted to play like Jimi. Nobody could. The only British player who came close was Trower. "Cliched riffs." Don't be goofy.

  • @dissimulate666 ha Ha .Battlelines drawn ?Hendrix was a show man -nothing to be ashamed of.

  • @dissimulate666 You are the one talking out your rear end zippy-There are a thousand bar band Hendrixs playing better than your guy ever did..and yeah he did play the same hooks over and F'n over .he was a show off with a limited bag of tricks he just tried some slight of hand with lighting his guitar at Monterey .big deal.He could not deal with a rythym section than would push him like Bruce and Ginger did.He didn't have the gas in the tank and you can't stand it.Get a life.

  • @EKJunction Right, because you have seen a thousand guitar players off the top of their heads sustain 12 minutes of improvised brilliance as Jimi did in Machine Gun at the Fillmore East, or write a song as beautiful as Little Wing or a song that captured a cultural and historical moment like Purple Haze. Did you mean to lose all your credibility in one post?

  • @EKJunction as Ginger Baker said the rythm section of Cream was far superior to Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding and Clapton was a more controlled guitarist than Hendrix who often lost himself in showmanship

  • @MrBrooke66 Without a doubt. But Mitch Mitchell was an excellent drummer with more of a military style -saw him as part of a dream band with Jack Bruce,Larry Coryell, and Mike Mandel on Hammond B3.Hendrix would not have allowed Bruce or Baker to compel him to "see & raise " the ante with them every night.A safe, plodding background was all about his ego demanding a showcase. If Cream had had two drummers The possibilities are tempting but just dreaming Baker / Mitchell Baker/Hiseman,Baker/ Williams.

  • HOLY DIONYSUS!! THIS IS THE BEST VERSION I'VE HEARD (OTHER THAN THE 10-15-67)---WHERE & WHEN? DO YOU HAVE THE INTRO? WHERE CD "ONE" BUY OR GET? THANKS

  • @JTerrible63

Hi, I have the 45 Vinyl Record This Song Came Out on As A Single.

It's So Awesome. Some Things Can't Be Duplicated And Hendrix and Cream

Are 2 That I Can Definetly Say Are in That Catagory. I Was Lucky To Be A

Part of That Era and Still Consider Myself There Sometimes. Hey it's Fun To

Relive Those Times Compared To The World Today. Take Care And Keep

Enjoying That Good Ole' Music. Wouldn't it Be Great To Have A Do-Over Of

    Woodstock. Never Happen Today!!

    Ga Country Girl

  • <3 this version.

  • What they were thinking when they picked a name-- is True--

The cream rises to the top

  • badass

  • And Cream wrote this song after witnessing a Jimi Hendrix performance. They were trying to immulate what they had heard that night. It is, in fact, Hendrix who originated this style.

  • @dissimulate666 Desperate attempts always amuse -it's really imperative that bullshit such as that be spread quickly in large theatrical motions -before it dries.
