just 3 days ago, after expending about 60 something continues on very hard, i beat Gary at last and went against mewtwo...and i actually beat mewtwo on my first try(not by ability, but he jus forgot to level his blocks and that one block made him touch the top of the stage) I was bugged out, cuz years ago, he beat me to the point where just seeing gary got me mad lol. Superhard..ispent around the same amount of continues and I aint even beat tracy hahahah

Not like the other characters, as you can't select him. But if you do what TheKingOfDarkness137 said, the background will be that of when you fight him in the 1-P mode, but Player 1 controls Ash while Player 2 controls Mewtwo.

You are only able to fight Mewtwo on Very Hard and Super Hard mode of 1P Stadium. He appears after defeating Gary the secend time but you'll get one shot to beat Mewtwo. If you lose, you you have to battle Gary again
He pretty much says to try agian when you beat him on very hard but I don't know on Super Hard. I havn't been able to beat him on super hard yet, but I take it you'll get some kind of trophy if you do.

If you do beat him, go to 2P Stadium.
If you can choose your character, hold Z and spell this: B, C Up, L, B, A, Start, A, C Up, R
You spelled Bulbasaur and if you did it correct, then you would fight Mewtwo. Player 1 is Ash and Player 2 is Mewtwo.
Your Pokémon will be choosen automatically
