  • @TheGuitarist4181

    You really don't understand Buddhism.

What are you? Some 16 year old sheltered teenager girl crouching in the church fearing God's wrath from the Old Testament?

Buddhism is not polytheistic, or theistic at all at the least.

"Jesus's love" is a bunch of crap. He says to obey all the old scriptures and prophets, word for word. And actually, quite frankly, this isn't devil worshiping. It has the same principles from Christianity. Go sit back in the corner of your church.

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness im not a femal, i dont fear that i will burn in hell, you get what you deserve and right now you sir deserve hell.

  • @TheGuitarist4181

    LOL!

No, you're mistaken. How do I deserve hell for being aggressive with your silly belief?

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness also jesus loves you even though you cant apprieciate his love that he gives you. what did budda ever do to show "love"

  • @TheGuitarist4181

He showed us how to live life and love each other.

He showed us how to keep a calm and steady life.

Jesus just directs you to a life of strife and suffering. Not exactly his teachings, but his father's.

Have you ever read leviticus or deuteronomy?

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness his father is techinically not a person he is like an energy, he doesnt exist in a time frame. budda thought to love nature, but many of the monks right now murder, and descive people. and i will not read any buddist book let alone an book that go against whats right (jesus christ) you techinically deserve to go to hell, but that will be up to jesus, hopefully hell understand youy were confused in your life and give you purgotory for to get rid of your sins.

  • @TheGuitarist4181

I just feel like banging my head against the fucking floor.

Read leviticus and deuteronomy, and tell me your god is a fucking loving god.

Those books are christian books, not buddhist.

Also, the crusades killed hundreds and hundreds of people over God.

And also, Jesus teaches the same thing Buddha did, he just follows his tyrant king father.

Turn the other cheek, value poverty, etc.

    You're a poor sheltered fool.

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness im not sheltered im outside more and livig life to the fullest, like god and his son wanted me to. he dad isnt a tyrant king if he wanted to give his only son to give his life to sinners like you. the crusaders are burned in hell they acted without thinking, and they were highly mistaken, and mind controlled by the devil so right now thier burning with him. i pray for you

  • @TheGuitarist4181

    *sigh*

Read leviticus and deuteronomy, you'll see your god is not loving.

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness he is very loving, he gave his only sons life for us and created a beutiful universe and created us each uniquilly. also the crusaders acted wrong and are suffering right now

  • @TheGuitarist4181

HAVE YOU FUCKING READ THOSE TWO BOOKS YET.

    FUCKING. HAVE. YOU?

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness fuckins not a nice word and i have read most of dueternomy

  • @TheGuitarist4181

    I don't care.

And have you read leviticus completely?

  • @PokeyMeansBusiness not yet

    you should care buddy

  • @TheGuitarist4181

Until you've completely read leviticus, you cannot make such claims about the bible in which you haven't even read.

  • I am anathiest and the reason I don't believe in any religion is because of hipocrocy and buddhism takes the cake

  • @sjm8890 - U should explain clearly why so that others may understand ur complaints & u can help them if Buddhism is truly bad. Otherwise, U r wasting everyone's time...especially ur own time.

  • @matreyia what I mean is how does a guy who weighs over 600 pounds get off on teaching people of self disciplin

  • @sjm8890 - Wow, you really should learn more about Buddhism & the Buddha before you start typing. That "fat guy" that you see at the restaurants is not a buddha or The Buddha. His name is Budai (Hotei - Japan), he was a monk who lived in China in 907–923 CE. His persona got mixed into Chinese & Japanese folkore..just as all culture have their folklore which differs from the respective orthodox religions' histories. The Buddha was from Nepal, this fat character is from China & isn't a buddha.

  • @sjm8890 - You should google Hotei or Budai to learn about the non-sense surrounding him. The historical Buddha - Gotama Buddha was very strict and led a spartan life after rejecting his royal upbringing & lifestyle. He ate one meal a day, possessed nothing but the clothes of his back and a begging bowl. He ate whatever was given to him on alms rounds or he ate edible plants if not around civilization. He taught & meditated most of the days, sleeping only 3 hrs daily until his passing at age 80.

  • @matreyia i'm speaking from experience, every monestary I have seen always had the staue of the fat one

  • @sjm8890 - Sure they do. But that doesn't mean he is the Buddha. His nickname is the "Laughing Buddha"...but it's just a nickname. U know how in Christianity there r many legends, alterations, additions etc. to the point where u get confused as to true Christianity? Like in Catholicism, there are saints out the wazoo & folks pray to them? But in reality, ur supposed to pray to nobody except God.

Same thing here...Budai is just a late addition. He symbolizes contentment...thus the big belly.

  • @sjm8890 - See there is no such thing as "Buddhism". There are so many sects and branches...you have to know what you are talking about to make any credible comment. Many branches contradict each other in various ways. The only thing which holds them in common ground is the 4 Noble Truths, the teaching of Impermanence, Dependent Origination... anything else is because of cultural, geographical differences. One place may not have lots of fertile land for veggies so they eat meat...etc.

  • @sjm8890 - There are even some sects that ascribe this character to the future buddha, Maitreya. But again, they are anomalies and there is no orthodoxy scripture about this fella in the original sutras at all. I tend to lean towards orthodoxy - the Theravada (Way of the Elders) as it is least hocus pocus of all the branches of the Buddhist world. It is very logical, no emphasis on magic, saints or supernatural things. Anything appearing "supernatural" is actually natural phenomena explained.

  • I am a new Buddhist. i used to be christian. my parents are very christian. they dont agree with the budhist ways and i havent told them yet. i am an athiest to god but a believer in the ways of budha

  • @GreenDayfreak717 yeah you should go fuck yourself then, your should believe in someone who loves you jesus not some nature loving faggot.

  • @TheGuitarist4181 oh... well your not a very nice person are you....... btw a person can change a lot in 2months and i am a full on ahiest...i am an open minded person though

  • Right off the bat, lose those sunglasses! People will wonder if they're from the "Jim Jones Ray Ban Collection!"

  • The camera work kinda sucked I wanted to listen to the monk not the painter or whatever

  • @KramNodd3

Stop trolling, I can see you are not a muslim by simply noticing that you can't even write 'God is great' right and if you would be a non-arabian speaking, you wouldn't even try. It's Allahu Akbar, by the way

  • @Zdem0Z They very well might be a real Muslim. The U in Allahu Akbar isn't actually written in the Arabic script, and it is only pronounced in Classical Arabic to indicate the nominative case, but this ending has dissapeared in colloquial spoken Arabic. If the writer doesn't know Classical Arabic, they would just transcribe it without the U as Allah Ackbar.

  • Islam is never going to do such a thing !! You are very very ignorant and small minded.

  • @KramNodd3 Its allah HU akbar you poser.

  • cool absolutely amazing

  • Most religions are like cages but Buddhism is like a beautiful vast open field - Free

    :)

  • This all seems very wonderful. As a teenager I'm scared to look at other religions. I have a feeling that what I've seen and heard about discovering another religion is wrong. This seems beautiful, the art, the peace, equality. I've never heard these stories. I want something where everything is peaceful, we all go somewhere great when we die, art, ect. Is this for me? I've heard idols were a sin, I feel they are a security blanket to God and peace.

  • @EmmyGurl523 Im not writing this to go against Christianity, but those things they tell you are supposed to frighten you so that you dont convert to what you truly believe is right. Look inside yourself and I think you will find what you truly believe in. I'm a wiccan, an earth-based religion that worships the Mother Nature, yet I find buddhism to be a beautiful religion.

  • @Resorcery Thank you, it's awful what a big jumbled up mess people are in where they can't accept others and constantly remind people they're going to burn in hell. Lol, thank you so much for responding.

  • @EmmyGurl523 lol I'm glad you feel that way. Like I said religion is a choice that you have to make for yourself. Dont follow something just because a book or spiritual leader tells you to, do it because you know tha in your heart that it makes sense. Just do whatever rings true to you. Go on a hike alone and do some soul searching and ask yourself what ou think about a higher power or the afterlife. It took me four years for me to find the religion I'm in now and its not a easy thing to do. :)

  • @EmmyGurl523 Think of it this way. If there was any widely accepted religion in the history of the world that's more like a philosophy than a religion with heaven (boring eternal choir for Christians, sex orgy for Muslims) and hell (eternally trapped in a burning furnace) it is Buddhism. It has neither of these sadistic, sick elements.

  • I am a white English person and I am a practicing Zen Buddhist. By the way I would love to have my first subscriber! Many thanks!

  • what is the guy in the video doing with those two sticks ?

  • @TripleThreatzZzTV looks like painting

  • @TripleThreatzZzTV He's etching. Rubbing the metal rod creates vibrations that can etch the wood.

  • babys name is not sakyamuni its siddartha

  • buddism is the biggest shit ever

  • Yet you felt the need to come here and make a comment about it. Up yours dude. Have a nice day.

  • @HoundofOdin What Buddhism lies about is that life is all about money. Without money no spirituality. Think about it, dude.

  • The Buddha never said life is all about money. Life is full of suffering is what he said. People were spiritual when they were living in tribes and had no money, so you can indeed have spirituality without money.

  • If I was there I would be the most excited one out of the group of kids. Haha luck bastards

  • I do not like the way this guy speaks about buddhism. He calls it a "religion" instead of a following and delivers lessons by preaching. I have been buddhist for two years and have never ever heard anyone deliver like this.

  • @SkaterK3 Everyone practices and see's it in different ways. As long as it makes him better let him call it as he may.

  • Do buddhist believe in God? I dont know much about them

  • @shadowofears

ya we belive in gods. but they are not all powerfull as cristians think. gods are greatures just like humans in another dimention. we born as gods and gods born as humans after they die(gods also dies)

u dont need to belive in them to be buddhist. but when u practice meditation it will be understood by u.

  • he forgot to add the lotus flower is a hullocinegenic

  • @boobsticles It's actually euphoric. Not hallucinogenic. There is a large difference.

  • "No one saves us but ourselves" Buddhism

  • Buddhists reckon that chanting cures cancer and stuff. What a bunch of frickin wierdos - stay well clear of them folks.

  • @C0C0nutFace Good to see that you took the effort to substantiate that claim rather than just posting something with no backing whatsoever. Oh wait...

  • if it means " the lotus flower" why not call it the lotus flower? and why is he wearing bedsheets?.

  • Accept reality. Dont worry. In the end nothing matters. I love Buddhism. Try to create that neutral state of conciousness. Rest, tranquility.

  • Buddhism the Enlightenment of materialism

  • Flowers are a plants sexual organs. By this fucktards analogy we are sexual organs rising up. Lions eat people they never protect them. All religion = WORTHLESS!

Also the monks doing the sand drawing thing are using a guide from the internet don't they have souls? or are they just mindlessly copying and pasting Fucktards are all the same regardless of the title of their cult. mindless Sub Humans..Insects at best!

  • 22 Although asserting they were wise, they became foolish 23 and turned the glory of the incorruptible God into something like the image of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed creatures and creeping things.

  • @allknowfather "Although asserting they were wise, they became foolish"

because he thought his smart ass bible verse was wise he became an idiot!

  • Mark 10:6 However, from [the] beginning of creation ‘He made them male and female

Romans 1:20 For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable; 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God nor did they thank him, but they became empty-headed in their reasonings and their unintelligent heart became darkened.

  • @allknowfather "He made them male and female"

More proof your bible is wrong since MEN don't bare children Even if they are long haired DRESS wearing TRANSSEXUALS like Jesus!

  • @supershroom164

Ok dude chill. I'm a Christian too, but your arguments make us look bad. I'd quickly die to save my Girlfriend, so yes, anyone could die for someone. I believe Buddhism and Christianity can coexist, because buddhism is more like a philosophy than a religion

  • FREEDOM

    DAW AUNG SAN SUU KYI

    NOVEMBER 13, 2010

  • Let the descendants of Abraham, the Jews, Muslims and Christians stand proudly and flash their religions to others in the world.

Let us stay humble, have nothing to do with such pride, and follow the way of peace regardless of them.

Pride in any religion most definitely has nothing to do with the practice therein.

  • @matreyia this buddist shit is converting everybody who believes in jesus christ. why are you people wasting your time on a religoin based around devil worship??? and fake gods??? that is all this bullshit is. please convert yourselves for the better! find jesus the real god and stay close to him! this is the only way in life that you will be happy! please people dont waste your life and end p burning in hell, it is never to late to find jesuses love!

  • @TheGuitarist4181 - "please people dont waste your life and end p burning in hell, it is never to late to find jesuses love!"

Burning in Hell? Yes, a loving God indeed. Who is wasting his time? Think about that.

Look at yourself. JC, God & the Holy Spirit gave u a gospel, a teaching of how to live purely...it seems from your attitude and speech that you haven't absorbed any of their teachings. U r contaminated & those teachings of pure living haven't helped u one bit. U still reek of pride.

  • @matreyia he loves every body that spends at least a minute of their day to tell him thank you for letting me be alive right now, besises in your fake religion is based on like many different gods, there is one that is blue and has 6 arms think about that how is that realistic???

  • @TheGuitarist4181 - Educate urself in art history before writing comments. Just like Christian representations of saints or JC with halos, or hearts with flames is understood as iconographic language representing qualities of the characters - such as Jesus's divine love for Humanity, or as symbols of holiness...so too other characters in other religions use iconographic language to represent concepts of that character. Nobody thinks JC walked around with a flaming heart in his hand all the time.

  • @TheGuitarist4181 - In Buddhist iconographic language, some characters have even more than six arms, which does not literally mean that they had all those arms simultaneously. Each arm hold an object which represents a concept. The many arms & objects convey many virtues & concepts, such as the ability and skill to help all kinds of suffering for many persons. A thousand eyes may symbolize the concept of "all seeing" in order to see the suffering of all beings to help them. etc.

  • @TheGuitarist4181 - In all religions, numbers have special cultural meanings. Like 7 in Xtianity. In asian culture, the number 1000 or 10,000 is shorthand for "all" or "everything". That is why some characters have 1000 arms or eyes, etc...which simply is translated as "all seeing" or "all skillful". There is no other way to communicate these concepts visually and less than 1% of the population could read so they had to find a way to show these concepts, and that's what they came up with.

  • @TheGuitarist4181 -"he loves every body that spends at least a minute of their day to tell him thank you for letting me be alive right now"

Do you realize that you are saying that God's love is conditional? Many xtians proclaim God's love to be unconditional for mankind. And here you say that He loves people who spend at least one minute of their day to thank God. You really think that you understand God don't you? He's this simple minded and childish to you?

  • @TheGuitarist4181

Yet a zombie jew that wants you to symbolically drink his blood and eat his flesh sounds completely sane.

  • Nice teachings (:

  • Alhamdulilah.........may God seek refuge and forgive those imaginative creation....

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

    1. Say: He is God, the One and Only;

    2. God, the Eternal, Absolute;

    3. He does not beget, nor is He begotten;

    4. And there is none comparable to Him....

  • @smelshlykbb05 - Don't forget to fear Allah, who is Most Gracious, Most Merciful, Most Powerful, Most hateful of those who do not fear or worship Him, Most Jealous of other gods...indeed there is none comparable to Him. For He will lead you astray on purpose if He sees it fit to do so.

The Buddha could never compare to Allah, for the Buddha is so weak, he doesn't have the strength to lead you astray even if he sees it fit to do so. That's why Allah is Great. Thus: Allahuakbar.

  • @matreyia Alhamdulillah.....

  • Comment removed

  • @matreyia May God bless you......

  • @matreyia einstein and many great scientists have said the future religion is buddhism

  • Fuck Islam.

  • @HoundofOdin dont hate others Buddha did not teach us this..............

  • Never said "I hate you". I just felt some retaliation was in order.

  • @matreyia god is not real, Allah is not real. why would humans belittle themselves and say something they dont even know is real is actually in control. Humans can reach enlightenment by exercising the brain not by puzzles but by intense meditation. there is even a lobe of the brain associated with higher levels of consciousness. Ancient Indians knew this and Ancient Egyptians knew this. nothing good comes from Abrahamic religions. all they do is destroy knowledge and make humans ignorant.

  • @dudeonthasopha - and your point is? you think I believe in any god, you totally missed the point.

  • @matreyia now i see that, that comment wasnt @ the one that is the highest rated, it was @ the one where you said allah is more powerful than buddha. sarcasm is hard to detect on a computer. and there are plenty of religious nuts on here so i jus assumed it was serious.

  • @smelshlykbb05 the reaching to god is in actions so please revert to buddhism brother

  • @smelshlykbb05 ohhh........so powerful.......... thats why you give him/her bribe as a sacrificing animal............people who are weak, scared .....made the hypothesis of god.......also for their business too...........n also for war ..............killing innocent human and other beings.............

  • i plan on getting a tattoo of a lotus blossom on my arm! :)

  • Very nice presentation. The "Lions" may likewise mean the "Laws", which flow from the Source of the Universe. The Buddha was a Lawgiver, like Moses, or Christ, or Baha'u'llah. We need direction in our lives to attain our potential, our noble self, or Buddha nature. Obedience to the Divine Teachings is essential, therefore, to become truly who we are...

  • @fsmtdaler may the triple gem enlighten you

  • inspiring...love it !

  • Me surprises that videos about yoga and Buddhism collect so few quantity of viewings. Employment by yoga - is included into a zen-buddhism. I didn't read indian Buddhism, but chinese variant Buddhism - under name a Zen-buddhism to me it seems more correct. Ideology Zen-buddhism prime law says - "you be ready (at any moment of life) to death", at any activity. Indians and chineses don't love each other. Yoga - 100 % means helping, FORCING the person to find Calmness.

  • To be calmness is then - when your opponent understands motivation of your actions. I don't know, in what psychological (nervous) a stability condition there were philosophers of 18-19 centuries. I wasn't engaged in yoga, but I saw a daily psychological condition of people which to it are engaged. I will start to be engaged in yoga (I will go on employment), is simple at present at me there is no on it time.

  • Baron Roman Ungern - It was one of the greatest people on Earth. It was zen-Buddhist and it had global plans, he wanted to turn all Russia with Europe into a zen-buddhism.

Fuck toChristianity. I consider that of christianity in russians never so fanatically weren't fond, as it did and americans do. And not the paganism needs to be professed (it now popularly in germanic-speaking and slavic-speaking countries). Romanticism is one thing, and religion which helps is better is another thing

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • beautiful video thank you

  • You don't have to be Indian to be Buddhist. I am a white American who is Buddhist.

  • @Slothth And Indians are not Buddhists. They are Hindus. There are onlt 0.05% of Indians r buddhists. But the pure buddhisum can be found in countries like SRI LANKA, BURMA and THAILAND. Also there are so many westen Buddhist in USA, UK and Australia..

  • @Slothth - Indians r not buddhists. Indians are hindus. There r only 0.5% of the population of indians r buddhist. The pure buddhisum u can find in Sri Lanka. And according to lord buddha, buddhisum will be last for 5000 years and its only in Sri Lanka.

  • @jinujee very true. buddhism kinda got sucked back into hinduism in india in its early developement, after it expanded.

  • @jinujee "Indians r not buddhists. Indians are hindus"

NO since Buddhism and Hinduism ARE NOT RACES. You cannot genetically become a religion. Religion is a failed moral code and belief in myth. Race is your genetic makeup. it's how you're built by genes it has nothing to do with beliefs or myths.

    Jew=religion Hebrew=race

    Hindu =religion Indian=race

    Christian=religion White/Caucasian=Race

    Muslim=religion Black/Negro=Race

    Buddhist=Religion Asian=Race

Atheist=what we are all born as.

  • @GodKillerAtheist Although I am Buddhist and White American people often say I am not a real Buddhist because I am not Asian. I give your comment a lot of truth. Myth and legend may be the point of perspective that you have against a lot of religions. I respect your opinion.

  • @FantasticArts95 Genetic claims to religion are just racist dogma, religion uses to seperate you from the truth that we are all equal humans.

As a fellow human, I feel it necessary to put these anti-reality, misanthropic zealots in their place by showing them a bit of truth. Peace

  • @GodKillerAtheist We are not born atheists! To claim we are born atheists is as worst an idea as theism. Children should not be indoctrinated and must be protected against indoctrination. Children should be taught critical thinking so that they will make their own choice.

There are no Atheist, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu children! That to me is an act of violence against the minds of children.

FREE the Children of the world from religious or ideological indoctrination!!!!!!!

  • @TheJaredtube Atheism is the lack of indoctrination and religion dogma. You can't indoctrinate a baby so they are Atheists. They don't believe your God claims since they don't speak your language. They don't understand you when you tell them they are Muslim or Christian babies because they are ATHEIST babies with minds clean and free of religious brainwashing.

Everyone is born an Atheist. Atheism would be the lack of indoctrination and the natural state of a clean and pure mind.

  • @TheJaredtube For some reason you think Atheism is something other than a personal lack of belief of the claims of theists who have failed to prove their fictional claims. Atheism is not and can not be a religion. It is beyond the opposite of religion. it's free thought uncorrupted by hateful and evil religious dogma. A baby isn't able to know dogma therefore it is an atheist since it has a personal lack of belief. it lacks belief since it has no knowledge of the religious dogma.

  • @GodKillerAtheist Apparently you either don't have children or you have not been around children. Children are not born adults, they are 'incomplete', they go through developmental stages till early 20s.

Children are not and can not be atheists. Atheism is an ideology. It is AGAINST theism.

How in the world can a child be against or for theism?

STOP imposing on innocent children your world view.

What children need is critical thinking. Critical thinking is their FREEDOM.

  • @GodKillerAtheist Lol "Muslim - Black/Negro race" You are some genius let me tell you..

  • @November10th1775USMC You're confused. You didn't get the point. I was in no way saying that all Muslims are black/negro The point of my post was to show how race has nothing to do with religion. Perhaps you have a problem with the word Negro? That is the precise word to describe that race of humans. Compared to you I must be a genius since you're trying to turn what I said around on itself to mean the opposite. Learn to read!

  • @Slothth: There are (almost) no Indian Buddhists anymore anyway. And if by Buddhism you mean Hinayana (ussually this is what people refer to when they say "the Buddhism" etc.) then all in all there are also very, very few believers of it left even in the rest of the world. The other things like Tantrism or Mahayana etc. aren't really "The Buddhism" as they believe in different Buddhas (then the Buddha who is ussually seen by westerners who don't know about religions as "THE Buddha").

  • @Slothth who in the world said you have to be indian to be buddhist? im an indian and i dont consider white or non indian buddhists for that matter any less of a buddhist.

  • Comment removed

  • @Slothth all living beings are buddhas. The Lotus Sutra says so. Nam myoho renge kyo is true path to enlightenment.

  • @iscorpio

Google on Tipitaka, the original teaching of Buddha. Buddha had given all the instructions on how to attain enlightenment in there. By merely reciting certain verses will get you nowhere.

  • A lot of what he says sits well with me. I'm new to Buddhism and I'm making a big effort. Does anyone find it difficult staying calm when people annoy you? I tend to move myself out of the situation and think about how I couldve handled it better later on.

The idea of sorting your own life out and not blaming others for your own problems has really helped me. I'm moving in the right direction anyway.

  • @weseastham - It's ok to get angry, that's just a part of being human. The important thing to keep in mind is to

    1. Never beat yourself up for being human.

    2. Forgive others for being human too.

    3. Laugh at the absurdities of our ignorance so be able to laugh at ourselves when we are being ignorant or stupid.

    4. Finally, be aware of anger or any feelings as they arise. When you are aware of it, then it has less of a hold on u.

Respect and observe all emotions. Do not become them.

  • and its not chakra muni ok its sakya muni.god damn these guys r giving the wrong info

  • yo guys.buddha is not an indian ok.bloddy fucking indians man.jus saying everything belonging to us is theirs.budda was a newar.which i am and he was of sakya caste which i am of.im am an nepali and he was a nepali too not an indian.its like buddha was born in canda and they r telling its in mexico.its a great thing for nepali that buddha was a prince of nepal.and its a thing to be proud of.and the indians r just claiming that he was born in india.soo mt everest will be theirs too.fuckers

  • @SuperBagle fuck man HE WAS NOT BORN IN INDIA.this is fake man.the lamas in the red dress should have known it but he didnt.man if u ask me i know more and the right thing.u guys might say where he was born does not matter only his thoughts matter.but no man what if i say i was ur mom or dad.america was developed cuz nepal gave it the money to.man no u cant say the wrong thing.its not buddhism then.it has to be the true thing man not somekind of bullshit

  • this guy messed up, bhuddism is not a religion becaue you dont worship anyone, and there are religous people who are bhuddist.

  • @franknilop Buddhists worship Buddha. :)

  • @sunnyOdee I would until I saw Pen and Teller BS Religon, it shows how the Dalai Lama's and there priest were treated like kings, while the lower class would do everything for them and if not they were tortured and even killed! its so full of shit, but the ideas are still good, just the people leading it are fucked up. Ghandi was rascist and Mother Teresa loved to watch people suffer and used money to help build religous buildings, instead of helping the poor and sick.

  • @franknilop Ghandi and Mother Teresa are/were not Buddhist though.. :) And I think you should get your facts straight...

  • @sunnyOdee did not say they were, i was just adding them on to the list of the HOLY, bu even then Ghandi is admirable for he never called himself a saint. I was brought of Catholic so I know that Mother Teresa is the same. What really bothers me is Tibet, I love buddhism and its practice, but why do they need palaces and shrines. You can practice buddhism with absolutely none of these things. And dont take my word for it, watch the show and look it up yourself. I appreciate your rebutle

  • @franknilop i meant that Mother teresa is the same as Catholic, but she is not admirable, she was a sadistic old shrewd woman form what i have found

  • @franknilop Ghandi, The Dali Lama, and Mother Teresa have done some amazing things, and I don't know why you would question that. Just because their views are different then yours doesn't mean that they are terrible... They helped people and that is all that really matters.

  • @sunnyOdee why should i take there helping for granted? Humans can be two-faced, and i will admit I have not really fond much material agiainst these people; but there is my point. Mother teresa's hospisis where the worst in india, she used donations churches, not the poor. Ghandi hated Africans, and Tibet is where the dali Lama reigns with his priest as supreme, and all the serfs are put to work for them, and when they disobeyed they were tortured and killed. Look it up. dont follow blindly

  • @franknilop Buddhists do not NEED any palaces or shrines. Most are considered holy and palaces bring people together. The Dali Lama is a respected Spiritual Leader, like it or not, and many want to treat him with respect which may come in the form of beauty. I can ask you the same kind of questions like: why do you need a car? Why to do need fashionable clothes? etc. No one says you cannot practice Buddhism without palaces of shrines.

  • Einstein Said that the only Religion which can go parallel with Science is Buddhism. Because it is common sense.

  • i dont like how he called it a religion

  • Thank you for this, it was informative.

  • Please spread the news about Nepalese resistance against Indian establishment trying to destroy a historical fact about the birthplace of Buddha. India is building a fake site in Up with the exact name "Lumbini" when infact Lumbini lies within Nepal. Buddha and his teachings are world's heritage but let's stop this arm flexing of one powerful nation trying to kill a historical fact that Buddha was born in ancient Nepal.

Buddha taught us not to cling to rites and rituals. But good practices and pure mind that is to be cultivated.

To cultivate good, avoid evil and purify the mind is the essence of Buddha's teaching.

The Buddha said that put ourselves in the proper path and look within to correct our own mistakes.

According to the Buddha, our house is on fire. So, we have to concentrate on extiguishing the fire rather than looking at other's house.

  • @ramaraksha; I believe that what breeds religious wars and terrorism is poverty, an "us" and "them" attitude and an overdose of assuming that you're correct about how the universe works.

That said, I'm afraid that you're sounding rather like the kinds of religious types I try to avoid, so I'm going to bow out of this discussion and wish you and greghoekstra a great day and a great life.

  • @shiftyjake Have learned a lot from people who disagreed with me, hope u keep an open mind.

  • I have said this before - Buddhists should not kneel before God when they visit the temple. Most Hindus either sit or stand before the Murti. The reason is that kneeling is the posture of a slave/subject/servant not a Student. Respect & love ur Teacher never Fear. Never be afraid to question ur Teacher. Please do not use the word Master when referring to ur Teacher.

Let's seperate ourselves from these abrahamic religions - a slave attitude is what breeds cults & terrorists.

  • Who are you????

  • ramaraksha01

When a Buddhist kneels before Buddha, it's a sign of respect. It also shows that one is humble.

  • @impermanentoo One can be respectful in other ways - kneeling is an universal sign of a subject showing his fealty to a higher authority. By itself it is not bad, but combine that with the attitude of a slave, it results in cults & terrorists.

As the saying goes: Bow, but never take your eyes of your opponent.

To respect other's religion, we avoid criticising other's practice unless it' does not serve any purpose or brings harm.

To criticise others' practices would bring about disharmony and conceit
