Excellent vid of a gorgeous plane, Mr. Auld. Sabres were built under licence in Italy and then in the 1960s Fiat produced the very similar-looking G.91.
"Overall, the F-86 had a 4:1 kill ratio over MiG 15s. The commonly stated 10:1 kill ratio was by the inflated numbers. That number goes down when cross-referenced with the other countries documents. Of course it was not 4:1 when talking about soviet aircraft alone, but the soviets didn't have a 2:1 kill ratio."
Put this into google - the second link that comes out.
Also, F-86's had guncams to corroborate enemy kill/damage claims, and guncam footage was reviewed when awarding confirmed kills. The nearly 800 Mig kills claimed by Sabres are pretty well verified. The 1.3:1 ratio is based on Soviet propaganda claims that 700+ Sabres were shot down. If this is true, where are those 700 missing Sabres and pilots?
I have 0 intention of entering useless debates and answering insult attempts. Saying that F86 Sabre has 10:1 kill / loss ratio is equal to P51 being the best fighter of the war. Once you go past the common propaganda, you can unveil real facts and why those planes were so great in the first place. Unfortunately, some people lack the objective view on the matter.
@DBSTH0R Well we are all constantly subjected to propaganda; you just don't know what to believe. So I always take information with a pinch of salt. It's good to see you are not taken in by the hype.
@DBSTH0R Don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia. If you're interested I can email you scans of the original USAF documentation of the 10:1 ratio.

I wonder if there was a connection?

@scarlebloke Don't believe so. The G-91 was alot smaller than the F-86, almost tiny by comparison. It looked like a baby F-86/D.

Thanks Auldm. DBSTHOR, go away. Yet another moron claiming facts with zero source material. You could try reading a book.
