  • I love the Gerry and the Pacemaker's guitar held high while playing style. Most unlike the guitar hero antics of the era. Thanks for posting!

  • Think the Stone Roses ever watched this

  • Classic KROQ song and video!

  • I used to wait for Richard Blade to play this song on KROQ back in the '80s. I would get lucky with this and Bow Wow Wow maybe once every 2 months. Now we have them on demand with You Tube.

  • 54 people talked about love.

  • It's funny how being a teen in the Eighties I thought most music at the time was a bit shallow (I was a deep-thinker then---ha ha!) compared to that of the previous generations ie. 60's and 70's. Now I listen back, it sounds so amazing and God Almighty the memories! Man, music seems to suck more as each decade passes, or is that just me.....and age?

  • @chisheen You are right........music today is either a bunch of yelling or talking about negative things. No harmony or thought into a song. I was a huge collector of great 80s tunes and still have them. Even my nieces and nephews love the original versions better than the remakes.

  • The 80s had the kind of music you can dance to, be in love or fall in love, or just having good times!

  • Man, i'm sure that guitarist looks like Christian Dailly Lol!

  • Oh FUCK i haven't heard this in 20 years like altered images ? altered images ? Jhhheeeesus. Fucking love it. Hows that fucking little intro guitar fucking wicked little solo, and a fugkin sexy voice man jehhesus. : (

  • She is sexy as **** in that video!!! ;-)

  • I really need to talk to Claire Grogan about love!

  • i love this band the only reason they arent played on the radio is becauuse no on can distinguish the type of music they produce. different genres and stuff

  • Favorite Altered song! Claire sooo hot without trying!! =)

  • I love this song!!!

  • The 80s a decade of Revolution!!

  • memories

  • clit power!!!

  • This song got me through the worst yo-yo relationship of my life :) This and Happy Birthday the extended play.

  • Shame about the sound quality....

  • OMG Love this Song!!!

  • Mmmmm my childhood sweetheart......... love you Clare xxxxx

  • clare grogan what a babe, the minute a saw her in gregory's girl a failed all ma exams, but it was worth it,wish i was star dancing with her???????????

  • The present Mr. Grogan is the lucky bastard on the left of the line-up.....git.

  • look at this young kids is all they were back then and they produced such timeless classics like this

  • Claire at her best.

    -talk about love!

  • Heavenly.

  • I like it.

  • the first album had a more biting guitar sound and they supported theBANSHEES ON some tours! just a pop band with some cute kids Nothing radical..

  • I still have this album. I remember when I bought it, the record store had it under B for "Bite," not realizing the band was named Altered Images. Too stupid, but it was a great find for $4.99. Ah those were the days.

  • Already commented here, but just had to say.... a far better band - as a whole - than they were credited for. Still think Clare's a national treasure though!

  • Sure there is a Chic bass sample in there somewhere. Clare Grogan was hot, a schoolboy fantasy ever since Gregory`s girl.

  • the singer is cute as hell

  • the beginning sounded a bit like the intro of "ZERO" by the YEAH YEAH YEAHs...could it be possible that Karen O got her influence on this band?

  • Comment removed

  • I have the tape deck from the beginning!!! It's made by Nikko. A very good deck!

  • one of the bessst !

  • Great 80s tune. Still sounds great

  • Lovely Clare ! Loved this tune, an eleven year old in love with this lady and this sound , he he !

My dad used to moan that he couldn't understand the words, but I thinbk he liked Clare too !

  • claire what a babe 80,s music rocks

  • Well if ur in the know then u know it wasn't no meteor it was a nuke sent by alien race who harvested earth's pot supply and got pissed off cuz them dinosaur's keeped on eating it all

  • HighsLowsNTheEchos..I don't know what your'e smokin' but ....you got any extra?

  • God..I loved you kachanski, you were loads better than the B52s!

  • im 23 and i love 80s music it wont die! the early days where we were dawning on elecktronika! the birth of it.

  • What a talented bunch of musicians

.Very underated.Kind of fell under the Haircut 100 umbrella instead of the Simple Minds category.

Pity they had a short lifespan.

  • Great song and Clare Grogan, well what can I say, really had the hots for her in a big way as did most men in the UK

  • Perfect memories in an imperfect world. Clare has such a wonderful singing voice. Authentic. What a terrific song! Nobody else could 'make it their own' as far as I'm concerned. This is definitive. Music hey? Once upon a time...

  • Really my fav Altered Images track, the beginning intro cords/keyboard, over Clare's voice really ahead of the curve tor that time. CLASSIC!!! =)

  • Youth Club days!

  • Yesterday's shattered - tomorrows don't matter. . . .

    Just love it!

  • A great song. God, I love music from the 80's!

  • Yesterday's shattered.. tomorrows don't matter... There's a philosophy...

  • Takes me back to 1983!!!

  • This is 1983.....isn't it?

  • I Love Claire Grogan!

  • I discovered this track today on a newly released compilation; and it's the dog's bo**ocks! I wish I'd been before 1984 now!

  • im going to put this song and im going to go to school with it is going to be a giang F U to the tough guys HA!

  • As to why this wasn't a big hit in the States, I'll never know.

  • @martinihoudini The majority of the people in the States don't appreciate underground new romantic music, that's why. :(

I'm not against US people it's just the truth, most people prefer the mainstream sound of Toto and such to the new romantic sound like Altered Images.

  • The American radio stations were forced to play Michael Jackson's Thriller 24/7. MTV was the only way to hear British Pop.

  • A babe and a tune!

  • Synthesizers and electric guitars and a great melody makes a great song!

  • Man I can watch this vid 24/7. Clare!!!!

  • Love this song! brings back memories of the great 80's

  • Scottish girls are still the hottest.

  • wtb better sound quality?

dont talk to me about 1/25 of silence every second

  • i was in love with clare in high school

  • She really was my voice of the 80s!

  • As far as I am concerned, Clare Grogan is a SAINT in my book.

  • Wow I haven't heard this tune in years and years. Totally forgot about it. Of course, Happy Birthday is the big Altered Images tune in my mind.

  • love the little elephant earrings

  • Clare Grogan had such a good voice and this was such a good song.

    Classic 80s.

  • Classic track from the 80's im still a fan of Altered Images.

  • bedsitter, hands off, or i'll rip your hair out!

  • first song?

  • Claire Grogan, the original Christine Kochanski in Red Dwarf.....and the best.

  • Fantastic track. Reminds me of listening to my first personal stereo.

  • Just watching the video and listening to the song, takes me back to the good ole days and can almost picture the day the song came out:)

  • pure magic

  • is it just me, this song is jumping...?

  • Yes,it's jumping-amazed no one else seems to have noticed.GREAT song but this posting SUCKS!!.

  • Oh thank god someone else confirmed it's jumping, I thought I was having a stroke.

  • Ohhhh love this song

  • Mooi mooi moooi mooi

  • Save the best until last

they'd grown up by this record and it's class showed . Even fickle peelie had the gut to play this on his evening show.

    "....tomorrow don't matter ......."

  • skool days !!!

  • this site is amazing.....what a classic this is

  • Claire is still a hottie!

  • just saw gregorys girl on the t.v. , put me in mind of them, long time ago for sure but a classic

  • wow, never heard/seen this song/video before.

  • first time ever for this video

  • A timeless classic......

  • Real decent group they were, but there was many decent groups coming out of the British isles then.

British music was the best in the world by far in the 80s.

  • Yes that days they were. Now its not all that good anymore although its getting better and better the last years.

  • Love this song. The 12" is even better. The B side "Last Goodbye" was good as well

  • saw claire on saturday night at nottingham she was brilliant

  • wow this was made before musicians started to wear ssc all the time (ssc = skin showing clothes) really how many singers today rely on only their voice to be good enough and not on their body. yeah I know that there are some who doesn't but most of them use their body to cover up the things they lack in singing skills. and they dont write the songs they sing

  • claire lets go baby

  • I think she was underrated.

  • Claire belongs to me! ;-)

  • I remember thinking when this record came out that this group were starting to sound more "grown up"! This song and the one called "See Those Eyes" were their best, in my opinion.

  • Star, don't forget about "Love to Stay" It's on their 'Best of" CD. As for this song, your right, and it was one of great brit songs that was coming out of England back then.

  • My top three Altered Images songs have to be this one, See Those Eyes and Bring Me Closer. They've all stood the test of time and have come up smiling!

  • NOT my thing this song first ive had heard it

  • Claire baby, we could have made it, you and me. Where did it all go wrong ?

  • Wow...so 1983!!

  • not heard this before oh well

  • Erm... Interesting non sequitur.

  • Thx Eric. Good song is this. I've got a 9 minute version on 12 inch (very fashionable at the time) somewhere in my loft which I love.

  • good song and clare looks ok to

  • great song and clare looks so sweet

  • went to see them in leicester in '83.i remember being upset 'cos they didn't sing song sung blue.went backstage and asked claire to sing a few lines, which she did!!just for me!! i also got one of their drumsyicks and they all signed it!!

great memories of a great pop band.

  • 1983

  • anyone else think she's like rosie webster from corrie?

  • To me,this was there best song.

  • you did the right thing though... also, clare was much nicer looking !

  • Clair is my girlfriend in my mind...

  • So very Under-rated,,whata band

  • Quintet....forgot about the drummer...;-D

  • An exceptional track that never got its just deserts from this Glasgow quartet. Altered Images had so much potential but as with too many bands of The 80's.....fame and other distractions tended to shorten the careers of bands before they reached their full peak. Very funky for some white kids....very nice.

  • An absolute masterpiece . . . that never got the attention that it deserved . . . from an exceptional LP—Bite—that was and is wayyyy ahead of its time . . .

  • Of course the obvious talents of Ms Grogan are well documented within these pages, quite rightly so. However, this is such a great song that invokes so many coool memories of the halcyon days that were the 80's... thanks.

  • I thought this was 1986

  • No, this is 2009 you crack head

  • Read the comment properly dick head. This song was originally released in 1986 not 1983, that's what I meant!

  • Even though thats what I thought but then I realised it was 1983

  • Really love this sort of new wavy futuristic kind of eighties stuff. Wonderful.

  • O God I remember the sweaters that were as wide as the sleeves were long. Pair those with stirrup pants and Jellies and you're completely 80's

  • I can remember my little group of new-wave girlfriends totally wanting to look like Claire Grogan...

  • Claire Grogan was in the Lovely Girls episode, can't remember what her character was called but it was loosley based on Sinead O'Connor

  • Is her name Claire Grogan?...she was in an episode of father ted :O)

  • yea its claire, every young boys dream, i didnt no she was in father ted which one??

  • Season 2, Ep 7: Rock-a-Hula Ted (aka Lovely Girls) Hope this is helpful :O)

  • She was also in Red Dwarf :)

  • IM SO 8OS! BOO!

  • Haven't heard this for 20 years or so. Sounds fantastic still.

  • It sure is grand to know some of my old buddies from the day are still out there.

  • wow totally forgot this song existed, the ole youtube is like a bloddy time machine, lol.

oh and she was stunning seen her live in glasgow!

  • Mah.. Bonnie Wee Lassie!

  • Great song from the 80s ! Remember watching this video for the first time on a local video music station. First video I ever recorded !

  • My friend used to suck the helium from a balloon before singing along to this song. *Rolls eyes* No class.

  • What a great and catchy song. Just love it!

  • This shit is the MAD NOTES!

  • i think you meen chrystalis sound it was blondies record company awsum track

  • No ,This cat actually compared it to the sound of the group from the early 60's the "CRYSTALS".
