  • They never quite get around to showing people being terrorized into consuming.

But lots of repetition, and more repetition, and more repetition.

  • John Zerzan is SO PROFOUND...

  • I do not agree with "property damage" philosophy. Why do we destroy some honest person's small shop or coffee? This is just primitive. I can't agree with the idea of destroying all that civilization has built so far, in order to start a fresh. This is plain nihilistic and nihilistic philosophy is a rather sensless one. Humanity must change its ways, yes, our mindsets, paradigmas and restructure our societies, but not destroy civilization and return to the stone age, lol

  • @prozrachno

The main person of this documentary is John Zerzan, promoting a pre-agricultural anarcho-primitivist society, so your criticism of the "primitivism" is rather ironic albeit I do agree with you. Personally, I think a shared self-imposed standard should be set up: attack well known multinational chains, like McDonalds, KFC, etc.

  • well u north americans lives so much better than other people in the planet and u are talking about problems and the most of u even now what people at Brazil, Africa, Iraq, India, China get through, so the atention and the help must be focused to this sub developed countries first then maybe care about protests and north american / japaneses and european being consumers. Zarzan is taking this to the extreme but maybe the way the humanity took has no back...

  • So do you think that everybody that has been to college lived in a bubble? What about people that go to college in third world countries where violence is way beyond what you can imagine? I tell you cause I lived it. Open your mind and don't criticize just for the sake of it. People mostly comment because they care and they would want to fix the problem. They might not know but they care and that is important. Instead of disqualifying, share what you know and help people learn.

  • peaceful protests dont work??

    what about ghandi??

  • yeah, of course it worked.. just take a look at India nowadays..

  • haha tru

  • Ghandi's protests only worked because by the time Ghandi had begun his rabble-rousing, the British Empir was only a shell of it's former self. Besides, most Biritish troops were diverted elsewhere fighting wars. If Ghandi had tried what he did in the 1800's instead of the 1900's, he would have been efortlessly squashed and no one would even know his name today. The British were so weak in Ghandi's time, they were thinking of letting India go anyway because they just couldn't sustain any colonies

  • 'who is ghandi'

  • why is the sound on this video, and the other parts,so bleeding LOW!?

  • why is the sound on this video, and the other parts,so bleeding LOW!?

  • it is easy to perceive destruction as a beautiful thing but within systems are organisms which must survive be it human or animal, do not pretend toy with life or death.

  • i forgot the writers name in this-but he is frickin' BRILLIANT!

  • that's the anarcho-primitivist john zerzan

  • Yeah and we do nothing!! No action = No change, we are dying for uffs sake and you just dont give a ish,, the system is a parasite killing the planet, this planet is our home, No action = Dead planet = Death all round. This cancer makes me feel good even though its sucking the life out of me. What should i do?

  • 85% of the US economy relies on the automobile industry....

  • This is dumb. Who that Zerzan guy is to tell what deserves to be destructed and what is not?

What abiut the cops who get wounded or the common folk who lose their salary because of the damage caused by these punks? Of course, Mr. Zerzan doesn't care since he's playing the pure philosopher with an eye at the concept and not the people. What a tool.

  • Who's the Government to tell us what deserves to be destructed and what is not?

Why is it fair that common folk have to live via salary in the first place? What's wrong with cops getting wounded - cops wound citizens all the time, but we can't have violence going up the hierarchy can we...

These are punks as much as the cops are. Both sides are enforcing what they see as truth. Nobody can know ultimate truth but by golly, if destroying nature/our home is a part of truth then I want out fast!

  • @DeerEatingWildOnions "Cops" are people too. They are manipulated into doing what they do. And you, and everyone else, is manipulated into taking sides.

  • @DeerEatingWildOnions Yes well what is it that you need so much that you have this attitude.......So many times during protests (recently in the UK) looters were stealing just about anything they could lay their hands on...what excuse is this other than they are basically irresponsible and expect everything for nothing.

  • garbage collection is a more dangerous job than being a cop in the united states. what about them and the artificial danger that's been created by a waste-based society?

  • is india any better today, flush with macdonalds and flat screen televisions and 600 television channels? traded their british masters for an invisible, untouchable, corporate masters.

martin luther king? black kids go to school with white kids, all sharing the same bus. its so much easier to push the "rapper" lifestyle, put ridiculous price tags on education to keep you on the streets, dealing drugs and death.

    destruction is inevitable. do it.

  • At least, less Indians are starving right now than in the time of the Brittish rule.

  • it's "property" and "destroyed".

zerzan (who i don't subscribe to) advocates destruction of corporate property, not personal property, because people have a conscience while corporates don't. people can be convinced to stop polluting, to moderate consumption. corporations exist only to promote consumption, regardless of the cost. hell, they're required to by law!

  • A company need to do profits, right?

On the other side, i don't buy his whole "Violent-less" destruction. If you destroy a Starbucks or a McCrap, you are not hurting the corporation, you are hurting the franchise owner; a regular bloke who got a job and employees who need to do the "Violent act" (By Zerzan's opinion) of working to survive.

  • @SatanicCod that;s the sad part. When you finger finger discount at a walmart or do damagae on some corporate building, you're only hurting the workers in the end.

  • but i disagree with zerzan. why stop there - mobs, like corporates, have no collective conscience. look at katrina looting, look at gitmo. power corrupts, the solution (which should be entirely palatable for satanic cods and other amphibious species everywhere) is the assured destruction of everything.

losing jobs? cops? criminal records? still trapped in the box. still blinded by the paradigm of consumption.

this is what needs to be destroyed.

  • I have to disagree. Consuption is an act of human will, nothing more, nothing less.

The only thing i had for free in my life was my own breath at my birth. The rest, i had to own it. Consuption is a part of human life itself. The trick is to do it with an aware mind. I don't eat at the McCrap and I am not a big fan of sugary-water. My will is my own tool and it get me what I need. That's all.

  • it's a great philosophy - that we live our lives as our conscience dictates, without imposing our world view on others. but communism was a great philosophy too... doesn't mean it works.

how many people do consume mccrap and soft acid? how many need to stop doing X in order to accomplish Y, and do you trust the vast unwashed masses to make an educated decision? especially a decision that affects the rest of the world, not just the decision maker?

    i don't.

  • By itself, my point of view is not a philosophy; it's a fact. I don't believe that I can't bend your will into eating McJunk by the power of my mind. Corporations can't do it neither.

As far as the stupid masses out there goes, those who sold their soul to consumerism? Darwin is right at the corner for them.

  • where is part 10?

  • destruction of property is, i think, necessary. one cannot just walk around, arms locked, feeling courageous and noble and shit. this is a fucking war. people will get hurt. might as well fight.

  • Destruction of propriety is dumb. All the places who got broken got insurance to cover that mess. The only ones who get wounded are the little companies who can't pay the preniums, the individuals losing their jobs (temporary or permanently), the cops who are wounded and the punk kids who end-up with a record.

  • Another thing; you go against my propriety, I will fight back. If this is a war for you, are you ready to pay the price yourself?

  • gandhi was a pussy just like martin luther king, black people should have listen to malcolm x, right now they would be feeling up universities instead of jails

  • Has he ever heard of Gandhi?
