  • Get her to align her neck and look just in front when in the squat, and then up with the eyes when pressing through the heels to bring the knee back into extension.

  • A comment however - the alignment of the cervical spine/neck is critical in proper squat execution. Take a closer look at the neck and eye alignment demonstrated, and you will find that it is not the most anatomically advantageous position. Not only is hyperextension of the cervical impeding spinal alignment, but an upward eye position in a flexion dominant movement can cause sensory mismatch (assuming no visual reflex aberrations are present) as neurologically, it facilitates extension.

  • Great video + cues. It's good to see other trainers encouraging proper form and efficiency of movement.

  • Good vid. Clear, concise explanation of the main things to be aware of and the right way to do it.

  • What a fantastic video with very clear demonstrations and instructions throughout. I have been having trouble teaching a friend to squat due to the lower back rounding as in 2:01 and also his heels come up. I will send him this video. Thank you.

  • Alfonso...Great vid'! I've listened to all of your podcast's and they're awesome!

When you get the chance, could you please go over the differences between the dead lift, romanian dead lift and the stiff legged dead lift? Mainly the romanian and the regular dead lift.

    Thanks in advance!
