  • cual es el nombre completo del auto me intereza

  • @nenaelba100 Me alegro de que como el coche! :) Jack

  • I love that this car has factory installed air conditioning.

  • @itsmegp46 Factory A/C was still in its relative infancy...I've often wondered how we got along without it for the first 50 years of the automobile! But as they say, we can't miss what we don't know...so we survived, and opened the vent wings a little further! Thanks! : Jack

  • @raconter1 We sweated our collective butts off! lol

  • @itsmegp46 So true...but we didn't know any better! :D Jack

  • My late uncle had one of these when I was a kid; The reason I remember the car so well because it kept overheating!!

  • @sexysagi Ah yes...the good memories and the bad! Many a car has met doom from something as forgettable as a stuck thermostat! Or it could be more..a failed water pump, a coolant leak..sad to have that happen to such a classic car! Thanks!

    :) Jack

  • Beautiful example of Exner's 57 to 59 designs. My aunt had a 59 Saratoga and the torsion bar suspensions made a big difference on the very common country gravel roads of that period. By 59 Chryco worked out the build flaws of the earlier 57s. Nice car!

  • @cheddyrod Hey, Chester! I love those torsion bar suspensions..I had them on my 63, 64 and 68 Dodge...they were superior handlers, and the ride was amazingly stable on those surfaces you mention! Nice your aunt had a great example! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Gorgeous!

  • @1DRock37167 Hey, Daryl! Thanks! :) Jack

  • Beautiful car, and nice video quality.

  • @jaredhtx Hey, Jared! Thanks! I appreciate! :) Jack

  • This is such a beautiful car, Jack, the New Yorker always was a very beautiful machine, my personal favourites were the 70's ones, cars didn't get much bigger than a mid-70's New Yorker :)

  • @drewerz01 Hey, Mike! Yeah, no expense was spared with these vehicles...no one wanted to cede top honors to Cadillac or Lincoln! And you are right about the bigness of the mid 70's cars...124 inch wheelbase for these senior Chryslers! Thanks! :) Jack

  • *Drool* Thanks a million for posting this one, Jack. This is my kinda car. The Forward Look Mopars 55-61 were rolling pieces of artwork inside and out. Virgil Exner was a God. The 59 New Yorker had the same "Golden Lion" 413 V-8 that the 300E had....good for 350 hp. The padded dash was also a nice touch, my 57 Desoto had that.

  • @dodge09challenger Hey, Brian! It was my pleasure to spotlight this car! I remember the commotion in 1955...no one was more dramatic than Mopar! It only got more pronounced in 57. Thanks for the details on the engine! Just shows what styling can do for a corporation...it was hopelessly stuck in the 50's previously. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 Jack, you are truly a lucky man to have had the privilege of growing up seeing these cars on the road. This is the one short-lived generation of big-finned automobiles that will never see production again.

  • @dodge09challenger Hey, Brian! Yes indeed! Gas was cheap, even when you consider the effects of inflation. To make it even more interesting, they would occasionally have "gas wars" where stations would drop the price to unsustainable levels to get business. Seems to me I remember it at about 25 cents a gallon! You really didn't think twice about cars that needed premium..it wasn't much more! Thanks! :) Jack
