  • "Do you in any way alter or improve their appearance?"

  • God, John Daly just puts ALL modern game show hosts to shame! So intelligent and articulate!

  • My father was the one who snuck out to clean the blackboard. Just kidding.

  • Miss Grable's a healthy looking young woman:p

  • wow female wrestlers actually looked human back then!

  • "You think I'm the only one obsessed with this subject ???" lmao

  • Lol he destroys that guy, Francis can't help but laugh and you can tell she's having a good time

  • Holy crap! She's a wrestler?!?!?

  • @cyberjar88 Yes she was. She's featured in the documentary called "Lipstick & Dynamite: The Story Of Lady Wrestlers". But she doesn't look like this now. She has long black hair now and is overweight now. She's in the documentary with the Fabulous Moolah, Ida Mae Martinez, and "Kill Em" Gillen.

  • Groucho saved that show. The others are soooo boring.

  • the people on this show had so much dammmmnnnnn fun

  • intelligent people on TV. wow. wouldn't work today

  • @phillytheflyerable you are so right. But at least they still make Special K, lol.

  • great tv

  • Dorothy Kilgallen mentioning sex and I thought 50's game shows were clean....lol....I was wrong...

  • @MrReilly067 The difference is that it was funny when it happened in the 50's, now it's just expected.

  • Groucho was one of the genuine talents of the century. And in the scripted, spin-doctored environment of the 21st century he would not be given a stage. Long live Groucho!

  • Groucho was one of the great attention thieves of this century.

  • 7:00 Groucho's wit is great!

  • Groucho was the funniest man ever.

  • How much are the panel coached beforehand? (As in Hollywood Squares where they know ALL the questions in advance and only APPEAR to be ad libbing.)

  • @bgrodner Absolutely none, from everything I've read--the panel members were simply that talented.

  • @bgrodner However, the celebrities actually were not given all of the questions ahead of time in the original Hollywood Squares, just the subjects (they had specific questions for each star, so the black/Jewish celebrities would get questions about stereotypes, Charlie Weaver would get history questions, Paul Lynde questions which might hint slightly he was gay) and coaching on possible good bluffs. Many of the jokes, though, were off-the-cuff.

  • If you ask me the older Groucho got the more of an asshole he was. Yes he was funny and yes i respect him but i respect him as a man and not a comedian.

  • @MattisSoderstorm So, he was funny, but you don't respect him as a comedian, yet he was an ass hole but you respect him as a man? I think not even the Marx Bros could come up with a more zany and anarchic nonsensical statement! Groucho is and was a legendary figure, he did not change himself in any way, he represented comedy and was entertaining to the end.

  • @RichardMcKendrick No you are not hearing me in comedy there ate two people. The man, and the Comedian. Almost like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. see I respect Julius H. Marx but not the Comedian "Groucho Marx'' and who says he wasnt funny? I said he was but i just dont respect the comedian.

  • "Boy what a Freudian panel this is"

  • That's one good looking wrestler!!!

  • What a treat !

  • The whole clip is great but I keep rewinding back to 4:40 LOL

  • Groucho marx is a legend....funniest,wittiest man who ever walked the face of the earth.

  • @zackspaulding You can say that again ;-)

  • @livelovedie98 They were all friends.

  • they think she's a hooker

  • @thx113thx Hmm, a hooker in a 1960's TV show? The wish is father to the thought.

  • I could tell she was a blonde right away

  • Huh... So it was the same back then as it is now. Women wrestling each other gets your mind going.

  • Groucho is the funniest f***ing man on the planet! I don't think there has ever been anyone who had such a quick wit. I wonder if, when Dorothy says "more sex," that part was cut out of other broadcasts at that time? The word "sex" could be said in a gender context, I think, but since she flubbed and completely changed the meaning, I can't imagine they would leave it there if it could be cut out.

  • Gee Bennett I can see she is a blonde.

  • @1122DLAN We had black-n-white TV in those days, she also could have been red or silver, er does that count for blond too?

  • In September 1959, Groucho was invited to be a guest panelist on "WHAT'S MY LINE?". It was either the most brilliant idea- or biggest mistake- the producers ever made (depending on whom you talk to), as he destroyed nine years of the show's reputation for being a "sophisticated" panel show in just thirty minutes. He and John Daly exchanged letters for several years, yet Groucho did not appear on the show again until 1962.

  • Amazing that she is a wrestler. Today's women wresters look very manly and lesbianish. This wrestler looks so feminine and pretty, more like a swimsuit model. Make you wonder what women are upto these days. Hmmmm.

  • @calihartley2010 It's due to the hormones the women wrestlers are using these days.

  • @Tubemanjac Hormones and a touch of feminism.

  • I didn't know they had Female Wrestlers back then.

  • "Do you touch them above the shoulders?"-"Yes."-"ARE YOU A FOOT DOCTOR?"

OH GOD, that kills me all the time.

  • "Do you touch them?" - "Yes." - "Do you touch them above the waist?" - "Yes." - "FOR HOW MUCH?" LOL

  • @Hootowl54 Appreciate you appreciate this statement, it's typical Groucho's sense of humor. I love it!

  • "Well then, get her up here and I'll pursue her."

  • What's My Line was a great show. I watched it as a kid. Groucho was simply the quickest, most witty person ever on television. No-one today can compare to him. Many of his You Bet Your life shows are available on DVD, some with the original Desoto commercials. I always watch them when I need a laugh, which is often these days.

  • @cherie88dud I agree, people are too busy texting or listening vulgar music to take the time to laugh. No wonder everyone looks grumpy.

  • @cherie88dud Yep, we could all use a laugh over the past 2 years.

  • Comment removed

  • whoa whoa.... did Groucho just call her a hooker????

  • @LEIMALOCCA He would be the only one allowed to ask that question, just for laughs. From anyone else it would not be appreciated.

  • Have to admire Dorothy Kilgallen, who bravely plows on through her questions amid the gales of laughter and Groucho's interruptions.
