"Never for money, always for love"... "Ya see, that's what you never got, kid. It's not about the money, it's about the game. The game between people....and that's all it is."
I'll admit: I found this song when I watched Wall street: money never sleeps and I was in for a good surprise - the way the end credits where done, where you see them all together at the barbque, coupled with this song along with his other track "home" it took me aback. I was instantly amoured with the songs !
I admit, I heard this song at the end of the movie Wall Street. That was one of the best closing credit scenes in a movie, and this song is the reason. And that steady shot of Gecko's office door.. One of my Favorited movies, and 2 of my fave actors. Douglas and Sheen.
This is the pure bauty of the world included in this lyrics, this music. Great positive emotions mix, caontains something that push you dance and make you happy without a reason. Thanks Talking Heads
@DoLoliitares Okay, check out some of these... "Land Down Under" by Men At Work, "Wrapped Around Your Finger" by The Police, "Africa" by Toto, "Burning Down the House" also by the Talking Heads... I suggest checking out the "best of" albums by Duran Duran, Thompson Twins, Cyndi Lauper, The Cure, The Police... any 80's kids checking in here will have some good suggestions as well, I'm sure. And you can never go wrong with Bob Marley. Ever. Have fun.
@JenniferPresents Oh no, I know & like both these two, it's just cos they were such resounding flops in the UK at time of release, but because of the group's overly huge acclaimed clout, both songs have been played as if they WERE hits on certain stations in the past, especially Virgin's 80s retro shows, which were always terribly unfair and sexist to other far less lauded but even better (for me) artists, which barely got more than one song played. Also 'Wild Wild Life' good!
I came here to see if any of their other unknown singles are worth making a selection of for my mp3. I like this one on first listen, very at odds with their biggest hit 'Road To Nowhere' & the top other obvious Top 20 ones I know. Interesting choice for a single, if unrewarding chart-worthy for them.
I hate you people who sit back and criticize where people found music. If you're truly a fan then shouldn't you be happy that new fans are finding the band no matter what means they found it from? stop being d bags.
@ericlams Yeah, I agree. I found this song first by an MGMT cover, and I loved the song. But now that I've heard this one, I understand how much better it is. But if it wasn't for that band, who knows when or even if I would've found this song. It's so groovy.
@ericlams lol @ 'Truly a fan', you're as bad as the people that are complaining. Get back to watching Glee or whatever it is that tells you what music to like.
@hArbingeRofDumb Why? Don't get me wrong, I've listened to Talking Heads for ages, but I figure that every person that likes good music now the better we all are; doesn't matter how they got here, just that they're here to have a good time and enjoy some great music.
Whats up with this version? At 2:57 it sounds like someone stepped on a dogs tail. It seems to be only on this one. I thought it was my dog for first few times I listened to this. Am I the only one?
good stuff. reminds me of my college days. i don't hafta' curse like a sailor though. my little seven yr. old loves this stuff too and she reads all of the postings.
It is possible. I listened to this day by day, over and over again for 2 months during summer 2 years ago. Even now when I get a bit drunk at parties I go the DJ and ask to play it, then i carry on :D
and you love me till my heart stops awwwww man and she lifted up her wings guess that this must be the place, huge huge influence for me and still fresh
talking heads primer: chris frantz - drums / tina weymouth - bass / jerry harrison - keys&guit / david byrne - guit&vocs. chris & tina are married - their band is tom tom club. chris, tina & david met @ risd. jerry harrison came from the modern lovers. suggestions: the live version of this must be the place & slippery people from stop making sense movie.
After skimming through comments, I'm genuinely shocked most people only know this tune due to a movie(hand to gawd, didn't know it was used in Wallstreet, perhaps I should get out more) & but because Talking Heads were an amazing, ground breaking influential band. Suppose it's pointless to mention Tom Tom Club.
@screams4tina why are you shocked, a lot of these people are young and never heard of 80's and 70's bands. if anything i'm glad video games and movies are getting the younger generation into really good music. so word to all who gives a fuck if you knew this song before people who saw it in a movie/game did? what do you want a cookie
It doesn't matter when young people discover these songs to find out there's so much more choice than the mainstream Gaga and Rihanna poop that TV and internet forces them down their throats
I discovered a lot of cool '60s, 70's and '80s music since i started using the internet as a kid

I feel numb, born with a weak heart. I guess I must be having fun. The less we say about it the better. We make it up as we go along. Feet on the ground, head in the sky. Its okay, I know nothings wrong. Gotta love the lyrics
And you're standing hear beside me, I love the passing of time
