  • i miss my tornado

  • 5:50 so low!!!

  • very brave men makes me proud to be British

  • "Right in the fackin' middle."

    No one does it better.

  • what do both pilots do.. one controls the plane and what does the rear pilot do, does he control the wweapons and navigation

  • @harrybyles1996 There's the pilot who sits in the front and the Weapon Systems Officer who sits in the back. He controls the aircraft's weapons.

  • @2349DF ok thanks

  • 16/20, Tabuk?

  • Feel sorry for the farmers ear drums.

  • @harrybyles 1996 u cant handel the truth xD

  • @95predator Irish Air Corps Are!!

  • @CamPMucHx hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahaha

  • Hats off to those chaps, good job..

  • 03:27 onwards = I saw this footage when I was in the Air Training Corps 1483 (Brentwood) Squadron.

  • ok

  • insanely low, some gamble to take with a 30 million quid aircraft.

  • GM/TFR

  • 6:01 made me actually put my hand over my mouth

  • wow that is really low level i swear i saw the captain of the ship reach out and touch the wing! LOL Thanks for the upload!

  • these are serious people.

  • HOW CLOSE TO THOSE SHIPS!!! : o

  • They must have had to clean camel hair out of the intakes after that flight!

  • Blimey some of that is seriously low ! They should show this in the villages around the Mach Loop as to just why low flying training is not just pissing around in jets for fun.

  • @bmgm3 keeping under the radar sweep,

  • Wow.

    That is really low.

  • amazing flying those guys are doing! very nice!

  • the shadow of the tornado on the ground was almost the same size as the plane itself. that is the true test of a pilots skill and nerve . camel hight sounds just right. but i should think some Bedouins lost their rag hats. nice vid thanks

  • jesus they're low flyers! still thats the british way! love the bit where he says "right in the fuckin' middle"!

  • Cool video.

  • Bloody Hell thats low! Good Ol RAF:0)

  • I believe the pilot being filmed from 5.00 onwards is Mr B+8, a countryman of mine, flying civilian now. Asking him to "flare" at 20 ft above the desert (5'42") was a bit cheeky too...

  • I was in a control tower in England when a pair of Tornadoes buzzed it.....I _knew_ they weren't going to hit the tower, but they were so damned low, I dropped to the deck involuntarily. Really exciting stuff!

  • 5:48 onward........unbelievable...!

  • @canihazburger Biggest set of balls ever!

  • In Gulf War One RAF Tornado pilots called the altitude they flew at camel height . just highenough to miss the camels.

  • yeah RAF BEST OF FLYING they can nite fly day fly low fly wot the fook USA do eff all

USA ya still training lol ?

  • @MrMarkieuk Training? No, we're fighting. Daily.

  • Don't forget the Buccaneer, designed to fly on the deck all day! and the Tornado's partner in this conflict.

  • @lee9000 the Jaguar is the low flying partner to the Tornado .

  • The french think they can fly low yeah right...now this is low level flying.

  • Tornado. Just how a military jet should look

  • Awsome, I wonder who the crew were at 05:15 onwards.

  • back when camcorders were the size of housebricks... best video yet, except maybe the iraqi soldier getting blown away by his mate's rpg backblast...

  • Buzzed those ships pretty close too!!

This is the best video on you tube with out a doubt.

    THANK YOU!! :-D

  • see those 2 from 5.50 on....how low was that!!! jesus!

  • @Nicoladrag Plus you must remember that the pilot is hand flying that plane NOT THE AUTOPILOT.

That takes extreme GUTS Concentration and SKILL.

Wish I could be in the backseat :D

  • Cool video! No training, the real thing!

  • Lunch...I'll get a drive thru

  • Now that is "low level" flying...PMSL@ta400!

  • Now that is a video worth watching!!!

    Thank you for posting.

    "Right in the fucking middle"

  • RAF is the best airforce!!!

  • @95predator Amen to that!!

  • @95predator no

  • @eclipse245 Yea

  • now this is what i call fast :)

    pretty cool

  • fly low, lower, tornado !!

  • Camel strike engine one.

  • r.a.f. = best in the world

  • Yeap, im spanish but RAf are awesome, some of the best in the worl (do not forget IDF)

God save you guys, have a nice summer in my country.

  • that pilot's good...he almost hit the deck at 6:01

  • yep pretty well drilled isn't he that's what training does

  • Amazing footage, thx for posting.

The RAF are amazing! Nice flying boys!

  • remember, no one likes the French.

  • can anyone explain to me why the camera remains in the same place while they are aiming as if the plane isnt even moving? just wondering

  • I think the cameras is in a pod and is rotating onto the target.

  • round in circles

  • Indeed the camera is in a TIALD pod. Once the laser is locked onto a target the camera automatically follows the action. The designator can also be steered by the NAV.

  • Its a very very strong zoom. when you drive a car, the moon or the sun dont even move.

  • Yes I remember this Bridge footage (where the car drives through the crosshairs) being show in am American press conference with Norman Schwarzkopf and with NO mention that it was RAF pilots who did this.

Schwarzkopf just said the guy in the car is the luckiest man alive.

  • More tornados were lost during the Gulf war than any other fighter, because they were the best at destroying runways with cluster bombs

  • I think you'll find they were mostly lost whilst delivering JP233 ;)

  • No Tornado was lost whilst deploying JP233's.

  • Delivering as in the meaning on JP233 missions. One was shot down three mins after delivering his JP233 payload. Fact.

  • Comment removed

  • @flounderal No they were not. JP233's were only deployed for 6 days, it was then established that there was no threat from enemy aircraft, so targeting and munitions were changed. Only 1 aircraft was ever lost on a JP233 mission, ZA392 was possibly shot down whilst exiting target at Tallil AFB nr Shaibah. The official verdict was controlled flight into terrain, most likely caused by a SAM, either way, 2 of our lads didn't come home that morning.

  • And also forgot to add the "normal" yank "friendly fire" that always seems to kill our troops. Women operating Patriot missile batterys...just shouldn't happen lol

  • The height (or lack of it) to avoid RADAR at 5:47 through to 6:01 is incredible.

    RAF are the best.

  • I agree - pause at 5:51; it's incredible, must be around 8m right there. Anyone know the figures? - hold on, i'm reading Tornado Down at the mo!

  • When American pilots see this it must embarrass them, they arent taught how to fly low hence all the smart weapons.

  • ... Gotta say mate.... 6m-01s is the closest... the aircrafts shadow almost meets it!! haha. Fookin nutters!

  • I love the Tornado, not the best but the most exciting plane in the world !

  • My Dad was a Engineer on these aircraft during the Gulf war.

    :)

  • quite frankly that is amazing footage... raf all the way at 6 mins, that is what they do over the fields where i live and it is amazing to watch them go past at the same height as my bedroom window...

  • I remember those Tornados flying by so close while I was on a U.S. Navy fast frigate during the first gulf war. They sure love to show off :) Thanks for the post!

  • amazing!

  • This is amazing footage...no one can touch the RAF for low-level flying.

  • @whiteho2 It's cause they train low flying alot. That's why their pilots die more often in fatal crashes...

  • @whiteho2 i second that, the right stuff

  • The crew at 6mins in.......respect !

  • That is so low must be around 30ft amazing stuff

  • It's amazing isn't it!

In the footage from 5:30 - 6:00, based on the shadows and the dimensions of the aircraft they're cruising at below 100 feet of the general terrain, and due to the size of the sand dunes and small hills they're getting within 10 feet of the ground at times.

  • Great footage.
