@TheShottyCutScene to be honest with you, that didnt change the history of wrestling or anything, yeah ECW was a history and we respect it but ECW wasnt an effective promotion, Vince made people recognize what ECW was about when he brought ECW wrestlers to WWF in 1997 and started the invasion thing, in my opinion bwo was crap and nWo was the best stable in wrestling history, nobody heard about bWo at this time, and no body even cared about ECW except some fans from Philadelphia.
@EgyMax1987 Steven Richards was not only taller than Kevin Nash, but also drew more. He was easily the most controversial man and invented the superkick.
@EgyMax1987 That's what WWE wants you to think. Also, Richards captured the hardcore title on several occasions, dwarfing anything HBK did in the WWE/F. Also, the Blue Meanie is the reason WCW went out of business. People stopped watching Nash and watched the Meanie.
@TheShottyCutScene actually i watched ECW and WWF in 90's and i can tell you who was better, Richards was a rip off HBK, HBK could accomplish in a year what Richards accomplished in his lifetime. and if you want to talk about who invented the superkick in wrestling then it comes to Chris Adams, and WCW went out of business cause the rise of Stone Cold and DX in WWF, bad management and bad storylines. talented guys like Jericho were leaving for WWF, while Blue Meanie was sucking a blue dick.
@Thescreensaverr It's a parody dickhead. Original ECW was the greatest wrestling ever. Paul didn't have Vince and Ted Turners money. That's why it went out of business, plus losing their deal with TNN you uneducated fuck.
@mrbigblacknutz No shit its a parody you fat welfare douchebag. It went out of business because it was made up of a bunch of out of shape losers who couldnt wrestle for shit. All they did was beat the hell out of eachother with weapons and botch big moves as they fell to the concrete. It was shit wrestling for scumbag fans who lived in the ghetto.
@Thescreensaverr lol I'm on welfare? Really? News to me. You know this about an anonymous internet user. I could be the President for all you know faggot. ECW changed the entire structure of wrestling. There's a reason why it's still talked about to this day, and the Rise and Fall DVD is one of WWE's best selling vids and One Night Stand had a huge buyrate.
@Thescreensaverr So if a great restaurant went out of business, would that mean they sold horrible food? Many great companies go out of business due to financial mistakes. You are a complete and total clueless fuck that knows jackshit about quality wrestling. ECW was generally a favorite amoung EDUCATED internet fans. The only scumbags are people like you spreading bullshit... but nothing you say can change the legacy. Go put on your John Cena shirt and shut the fuck up keyboard warrior.
@mrbigblacknutz Oooh tough guy, I bet you enjoy sucking big black nuts you welfare recipient. If Ecw was putting on a product worth watching that drew ratings, they would have never been cancelled and gone out of business. By EDUCATED internet fans, you must mean fucking retards who sit around all day smoking pot and discussing how 9/11 was an inside job. ECW sucked dick, it was a botchfest of no talent wannabes who could never make it anywhere else. So keep you your big fucking lips shut.
@Thescreensaverr If ECW sucked that hard and wasnt worth anything at all than why did Both WCW and WWE Stole ECW talent and ideas at the Monday Night Wars, when Vince Mcmahon purchased WCW and ECW...why Vince Mcmahon ressurect ECW while WCW still on the ground...and Why ohh! why does the rise and fall of ECW is still one of the most selled documentaries that WWE had...
This stable was way more successful than it had any right to be! It was a freakin' parody, and it made ECW a whole buttload of cash! I love these guys! They're just so awesome!
@greatestgoalie25 they used canned heat at the start - it was a soundtrack of people chanting, WCW did it all the time with Goldberg... then people started getting it and cheering/chanting for real
@greatestgoalie25 it was Kid Kash - David Morton Tyler Jericho was Kid Kash, he used David (his real name) and Morton as a tribute to Ricky Morton his trainer - no idea where Tyler came from though
nWo was the hottest thing back in 1996 - 1997, so ECW did the right thing by making their own parody of it with a joke version of nWo. Meanwhile, over in WWF, they needed to copy nWo as well in some way shape or form, so the WWF put together D-Generation X and pushed DX into competing with nWo. The only difference between ECW and WWF though was that the WWF will never admit that nWo was the reason for DX existing. After all, they even ripped off the nWo PPV with a DX PPV.
@GamingPalooza The hell are you talking about? DX was nothing, and I mean NOTHING like the the nWo. The nWo was essentially a group of WWF outcasts who were forming a group to take over the WCW, hence Hall, Nash, and Hogan being the originals and most guys after sans Giant also being prior WWF guys. DX was essentially HBK and HHH as two completely over the top and immature guys with huge ego's who pushed the limits beyond even TV-14 boundaries. They had nothing in common, at all.
nWo was a lot more then just "WWF outcasts". nWo formed based off an invasion of WWF guys... but as the nWo evolved, there was nWo in multiple promotions, including over in Japan, where the nWo had their own bracket of Japanese guys branched off of the nWo. nWo was the most largest stable that ever existed in professional wrestling, and the only stable that existed in multiple promotions all at once, and the only stable that associated the selves legitimately with Hells Angels.
@StanKingston420 Yep lol. I remember seeing David Jericho lol on the syndicated shows (WWF )too during the 90s. Its funny when you se the "preliminary talent" a few years later. You never know who will catch the big break that makes them a somebody
Hello there looking for anyone with any links or leads to the original ECW Hat Guy., Sign guy or Faith No More guy. ? Please get in touch with me at my name mccoisty84. Even if it is a vague link get in touch. Even stories on them too.
@mccoisty84 I've seen those guys at shows run in The Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena. A lot of Wrestling Promotions run shows every month in that building. Off hte top of my head: Ring of Honor, Chikarra Wrestling, and Combat Zone Wrestling runs shows there every month and Dragon Gate runs shows htere every 4months. If you ever go to Professional Wrestling Shows there, you'll run into those guys.
Who could forget when these guys were on Raw, and Vince McMahon came up with the genius quote of "obviously this has nothing to do with the 'clothing line' of nWo!" Way to not acknowledge WCW there Vince!
@hargosh37: Actually, Vince said, "The Blue World Order, which has nothing to do with the New World Order, which is a T-shirt line in Atlanta."
@itsnatureboy42o: Michael "Stevie Richards" Manna is from Philly. Brian "The Blue Meanie" Heffron was born in Atlantic City, NJ. Michael "Super Nova" Bucci is from Tom's River, NJ. Meanie was billed from Pepperland, since the gimmick was from the Beatles' movie Yellow Submarine. Nova was billed from the Silicon Valley. It's now the Asylum Arena.
@JKTube Look for a video called ECW-BWO on RAW. Go to the 3:02 mark and Vince says "well certainly this has nothing at all to do with the clothing line...of nWo." He says it again at 6:20.
@KingSygma: He's mostly retired and working in real estate though he has made a few return appearances. Apparently, he grew sick of the politics in the wrestling business while running the developmental program in OVW and walked out.
also funny fyi.. blue meanie and big stevie cool were home grown talent.... meanie lived like 3 blocks from house (Philly blocks are huge, so that close), not too sure where stevie is from... sounds downtown to me

hahaha yesssaaa, they always had that dumbass dick van dyke doctor show on b4 ecw came on... ILL NEVER FORGET cursing that fruitloop show..ECW ECW ECW
I disagree... the nWo are the biggest stable and one of the greatest achievements in wrestling...and besides without the nWo..bwo wouldn't be formed...but bWo is cool i like them...but the nWo is where the greatest stable..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Just goes to show that ECW really was the lesser of the brands.. They obviously watched and dreamed about being on WWF or WCW.. hell they re-create the gimmicks to a T.. shit.. ECW was tight as all hell however it was essentially a farm league and if it tried to stay that way it would prolly still be around today with new stars not just the favs like RVD and TAZ and AWESOME and SANDMAN and RAVEN and DREAMER.. screw SABU(worst on the planet.. crazy as hell but worst worker worst thn that raw host
I'm huge wrestling fan (WWF) and i'm deaf myself. I will like to ask you guys some question. Why did ECW out of the business? I will like to know since they got tons of good talents like RVD, TAZ, Dudley Boyz, BWO, Mike Awesome, Lance Storm, Rhino, Etc. They are too good to wrestle for everybody. i dont understand myself why are ECW shut down. I dont like WCW at all and i do watch them during NWO's ERA. It's sux that WCW and ECW shut down force WWF to change their direction.
A big part of ECW being so awesome was that the fans back then were much better. I was a HUGE ECW fan and Im a huge TNA fan now. When I go online & see the things people bitch about TNA doing. I think back to how my friends said the same thing about ECW. And How ECW would be picked apart today if it were still around by the same idiots. Everything from the angles not making sense to production values. I believe if TNA went out of business today, people 5 years from now people would kiss its ass
@stutzilla, The bigger and most overlooked part of that and ECW's overall awesomeness was the fact that unlike todays wrestling fans...the ECW fans were willing to go for the ride and go with the flow. They watched as fans and not as movie critics. Something good now in wrestling wouldnt feel as good to a lot of people as something that sucked backs then just because so many fans now have ruined everything for themselves. Until they get that, things will continue to suck for them. End of story
@stutzilla The fans were just better. Imagine this BWO segment never happened. Imagine it happens next week on one of the wrestling programs, all the dumb internet smarks would bitch about how lame it was and why wasnt anyone in the ring wrestling instead.
@BruiserDrop Its the other way in Mexican wrestling, back in the 90's nobody gave 5 minute speeches, 20 seconds is all it took, now people complain cause they're not acting and giving 10 minute speeches like in U.S. pro wrestling.
wuz that kid kash or not? im only 14 so i never actually saw ecw and that guy loox like kash....btw he had the best hurricanrana ive ever seen! i wish the old ecw wuz still here so they could kick the hell outta cena, batista, and hhh
Unlike WWE and WCW, ECW had heart and soul. They had real talent. They had probably the best gimmicks of all time, and upstarted Mick Foley's career. How ECW was a threat to WWE I don't know.
Well if you look at the WWE and the WCW and the TNA and the MMA and UFC fans they all are like the lowest forms of trash! The original ECW was more real, took more bumps and bruises and got paid alot less and didn't get all commercialized like the WWF in the 80's and then the WCW trying to imitate that until Vince bought them out.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
yes they took more bumps and bruises because their working schedule's were no where near as long as wcw or wwf's and the reason their pay was low was because paul heyman was a money thieving cheap bastard and they couldn't draw flies to shit
the vast majority of the wrestlers in ecw could not work a lick
u must be joking. ECW had the hardest working wrestlers around. guy that weren't even good wrestlers worked harded than anyone at WCW at the time. Today the E's wrestler's could hold shit on what ECW had in their prime.
not true. guys like the undertaker, stone cold, and HBK get huge pops everytime they enter an arena. it all depends on who it is. you also have to remember that times have changed.
I guess if you're probably an old, overrated gimmick, a drunken redneck, or a guy who is popular for no particular reason (Respectively), I guess the crowd can go apeshit over them.
This kinda thing is really lost on the modern smarks. I think the reason I can enjoy comedy in wrestling and over the top skits is because I grew up an ECW fan. Now if you try to do things like this, the smarks get all over you.
da blue guy(blue meanie)-parody of scott hall -hollywood nova(nova)-parody of hollywood hogan-big stevie cool stevie richards-parody of big daddy kevin nash
I think Hollywood Nova was Hollywood Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage. Thomas the Inchoworm was a parody of Dennis the Worm Rodman. He's not in this video, but I thought I would add that.
at the 2:00 mark are they chanting "you fat fuck" at Blue Meanie?

nWo was the original D-Generates of professional wrestling who did not follow any rules and did whatever they wanted to do.
nWo forms at Bash at The Beach on 7/8/96
Hogan, Nash, Hall
nWo has their own PPV "Souled Out" on 1/25/97
DX forms on Raw is War on 8/11/97
HBK, HHH, Rick Rude, Chyna
DX has their own PPV "D-Generation X" on 12/7/97
DX is nothing but a 2nd rate poor excuse that WWF came up with to compete with nWo.

Folks
I'm huge wrestling fan (WWF) and i'm deaf myself. I will like to ask you guys some question. Why did ECW out of the business? I will like to know since they got tons of good talents like RVD, TAZ, Dudley Boyz, BWO, Mike Awesome, Lance Storm, Rhino, Etc. They are too good to wrestle for everybody. i dont understand myself why are ECW shut down. I dont like WCW at all and i do watch them during NWO's ERA. It's sux that WCW and ECW shut down force WWF to change their direction.
SUPERSPEEDY55 2 years ago
Basically they were not making enough money and spending to much. Watch the Rise and Fall of ECW it explains alot.

stutzilla 2 years ago 65
A big part of ECW being so awesome was that the fans back then were much better. I was a HUGE ECW fan and Im a huge TNA fan now. When I go online & see the things people bitch about TNA doing. I think back to how my friends said the same thing about ECW. And How ECW would be picked apart today if it were still around by the same idiots. Everything from the angles not making sense to production values. I believe if TNA went out of business today, people 5 years from now people would kiss its ass
BruiserDrop 2 years ago
@stutzilla, The bigger and most overlooked part of that and ECW's overall awesomeness was the fact that unlike todays wrestling fans...the ECW fans were willing to go for the ride and go with the flow. They watched as fans and not as movie critics. Something good now in wrestling wouldnt feel as good to a lot of people as something that sucked backs then just because so many fans now have ruined everything for themselves. Until they get that, things will continue to suck for them. End of story
BruiserDrop 1 year ago
@stutzilla The fans were just better. Imagine this BWO segment never happened. Imagine it happens next week on one of the wrestling programs, all the dumb internet smarks would bitch about how lame it was and why wasnt anyone in the ring wrestling instead.
BruiserDrop 1 year ago
@BruiserDrop Its the other way in Mexican wrestling, back in the 90's nobody gave 5 minute speeches, 20 seconds is all it took, now people complain cause they're not acting and giving 10 minute speeches like in U.S. pro wrestling.

The original ECW had way better action and was more real and roughcut then the other 2 commercialized WWF or WCW!

what through fire, ared wire and chairs? that aint pro wrestling it's trash
ecw applied to the lowest form of wrestling fan there was and that's saying something

RE: bjvsgsp
Unlike WWE and WCW, ECW had heart and soul. They had real talent. They had probably the best gimmicks of all time, and upstarted Mick Foley's career. How ECW was a threat to WWE I don't know.
carriersummoner 2 years ago 2
you do realise that ecw ripped of most of their gimmicks from past wrestling organisations don't you?
ecw was never a threat to either of the big two.cactus jack had a career with or without ecw
bjvsgsp 2 years ago
Well if you look at the WWE and the WCW and the TNA and the MMA and UFC fans they all are like the lowest forms of trash! The original ECW was more real, took more bumps and bruises and got paid alot less and didn't get all commercialized like the WWF in the 80's and then the WCW trying to imitate that until Vince bought them out.
Chabu70 2 years ago 3
This comment has received too many negative votes show
yes they took more bumps and bruises because their working schedule's were no where near as long as wcw or wwf's and the reason their pay was low was because paul heyman was a money thieving cheap bastard and they couldn't draw flies to shit
the vast majority of the wrestlers in ecw could not work a lick
bjvsgsp 2 years ago
u must be joking. ECW had the hardest working wrestlers around. guy that weren't even good wrestlers worked harded than anyone at WCW at the time. Today the E's wrestler's could hold shit on what ECW had in their prime.

This was WCW not WWF in the WWF/WWE were all different

That's because the WWE doesn't inspire it. Same with TNA. same with all of them.
Stereorage 2 years ago 4
not true. guys like the undertaker, stone cold, and HBK get huge pops everytime they enter an arena. it all depends on who it is. you also have to remember that times have changed.

RE: wesv71
I guess if you're probably an old, overrated gimmick, a drunken redneck, or a guy who is popular for no particular reason (Respectively), I guess the crowd can go apeshit over them.
carriersummoner 2 years ago
This kinda thing is really lost on the modern smarks. I think the reason I can enjoy comedy in wrestling and over the top skits is because I grew up an ECW fan. Now if you try to do things like this, the smarks get all over you.

I think Hollywood Nova was Hollywood Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage. Thomas the Inchoworm was a parody of Dennis the Worm Rodman. He's not in this video, but I thought I would add that.
