this is true journalism, unfortunately the story is far beyond sad, but necessary to be shown as it is. please keep up the great work of showing us your experiences as you see them . . . . and may you be guided in a safe manor always :)
america was stolen by the thieves long ago. You all are just too pathetic to see it. All they have to do is run beer commercials and have football games and you will never know it. Did you know the war on terror was planned in the 70's. It's a sham. but you cattle deserve what you get.
Im so ashamed as a muslim watching this, what has our ummah become, fighting between each other, what the hell is going now, removing saddam did not remove the problems in iraq at all, shias and sunnis are had been living in peace way before the occupation now it looks like the ghettos of harlem and the gangs of LA
These walls have been build in the purpose to divide the city to Sunni area and Shia area therefore, Shia's could steadily increase their numbers/influeces in the capital.
Who backing it? I would say, 1 Shia dominated gov's 2 Iranian's 3 American's.
In any country, if someone wants to make a quick drastic changes, then you need to make it by force in most of the cases. This is not "Because Iraqis" whom believe to be confronting each other, instead the outsiders who came after the occupation.
These walls are making a difference. The film-maker is over-dramatizing this, also. They're going through the rougher parts of town. As far as cultural clashes, that exists everywhere. The U.S. didn't start this or cause this.
Sounds to me the problem lies within the people.....here in america we all have religous differences but we arent killing eachother in the street everyday because of it these people seem stuborn to accept anyone could be different from themselves or not willing to accept change.. the US can only do so much for so long as far as security goes after 5 years its time for Iraq to grow up and start developing herself or some crazy ass dictator will '
ok im giving yall all homework, reply to this post with how you woulda delt with the situation that caused the war and how you woulda handled september 11th
haha fags now that the us is pullling out of iraq how the hell are yall gonna stay in one peace haha well thats what people wanted no you have it iraq its on their own good luck
Lol, it has been described as a nightmare, the "war" between the Shiaa and sunni muslims is not as described at all, im shiaa muslim, and went to iraq last summer, i was in al adhamia, (most of them is Sunni)
And it was very nice, people live, but stil if 1 got killed, it is one to much
@darkangelmale what u think u can come do whatever u want and then pull out and u think everything is gonna go back to what it was, they destroyed i, there is nothing left to rebuild, 2.5 millions died, 6 million fled the country and many buildings and streets were destroyed how is that gonna be fixed by having the bitches pull out, thats if they did. but amm sureu r a media believer and and idiot who is decepted by the claims and news u r told
More proaganda, Baghdad has been stable and secure for ever now. The few "hot spots that were in Iraq thanks to illegal aliens, foreign terrorist Saddaam already had there training/hiding out in Iraq and the Baathist assholes who terrorized the country for so long have bene dwindled down to nothing, primarily because ann incompetent terror war against civilians doesn't last long unless un restrained supply is supported and the surge which worked brillantly. Fact is this war was over in 2003.
This is much bigger, same situation though. But the whole invasion should remind you of the British occupation of the whole of Ireland for 800 years. And even more, the invasion of Iraq by the British in 1917, I think it was.
HMM this IS A copy of a video just posted 1 hour ago and now can't view because its private now. Same people different stories . Witness - Baghdad City of Walls - 5 April 09 - Part 1 This video just posted same thing different name and stories.

i wish Alqaida and USA and everyone else just left Iraq alone. saddam is gone. Let Iraqis fix things themselves because they aint stupid. the regular Iraqis must be getting really pissed at all the bullshit of warring big shots!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Those fuckers dump their shit-water out their front door. They need to focus on doing what the US tells them to do. They are too busy hating each other to be normal human beings.
The surge may have been a successful military operation but was it also a successful humanitarian operation? We did go in as liberators did we not? Watch Buddahead2009's End RELIGION video and decide for yourself. Or read Big Boy Rules
Why does everyone here think in terms of "us verses them." You must transcend your paradigms and think of people as individuals rather than parts of a collectivist whole. I don't take pride in being an American, I take pride in what I have done as an individual.
Don't be so arrogant as to believe yourself better because of your nationality or religion. In God's eyes the location of your homeland means nothing, but your individual actions are everything.
Fuck USA. American soldiers are cowardly , bastards. Fight with inocent people and poor irak army. Why don´t you fight with russia, China, Iran. Peace in the World. Fuck Bush criminal
but insteed WE the west kicked iraqi army out of kuwait then destroyed iraq and put harsh sanctions to make sure they cant recover in 1991 thous keeping the 2 million kuwaites super rich and spoiled and 30 million iraqis poor, missrable, vengaceful and violent. most of saddams crimes happened when george H.W bush incited rebblions in the country after the gulf war. saddam had to use violent force to keep his counrty in peace and avoid a situation like todays which is total civil war and anarcky
So, you're saying, that because in the Gulf War, when we kicked Iraq out of Kuwait, we're the bad guys? If a poor country is next to a rich country, the poor country should be allowed to invade the rich country because that would make "everyone" happy?
The mere status of wealthy living along side poor doesn't justify the use of force. When wealthy individuals attempt to coerce the poor, there's is a justification for self-defense.
Wealth is not inherently good or evil. Kuwaitis and Iraqis are not inherently good or evil. Analyze individuals on their merits rather than the social class they belong to.
The reason for the poverty of many Iraqis is much more complicated than you or I would like it to be.
still historicaly Kuwait us part of iraq and in my opiniom kuwait should be part of iraq not and inderpendent city state filled with millioneres aslo saddam hussian was a pro western allie at that time and wanted to be freinds with the west that time he was no threat no west
What makes you think I support the west's invasion? The ends don't justify the means which is why I support no war, or government for that matter. Every state bureaucrat who wishes to control you is evil.
Self defense is justified, but aggression is not. If the US was bombed by Russia, and I was drafted and sent to war, it would still not be self-defense for me to fight for the US. The US is not mine. What would be self defense would be if I killed the people forcing me to go to war.
Kuwait was sold and sign upon by an Iraqi king, It will not and should not be a part of Iraq, If that's the case, then numerous parts of Turkey should be part of Greece, and the Greek origin lands in turkey were not sold but occupied.
Saddam only invaded kuwait to gains it oil field and use the extra oil money for iraqi needs and pay off debts. think about it iraq and kuwait have the same amounts of proven oil reserves iraq has 30 million people and kuwait around 2 million. iraqis will be much much richer and developed if kuwaits oil money is spread evenly across iraq and kuwait. when people are rich and have good lifes there is no reason to fight or do bad stuff and the middle east will be a better and more peacefull place
yeah USA wanted iraq to invade kuwait so they would have a good reason to turn there good freind saddam into an enermy which would allow the american public to support an invasion of iraq because the american goverment made saddam to powerful by giving him money and weaopns and to gain its oil fields
Nothing can justify genocide, which is what occurred when Iraqi military forces invaded Kuwait. NOTHING. Iraq was poor because of their ten year war with Iran, and Iraq's poverty doesn't justify invasion. War destroys economies, contrary to popular belief, and the Iraqi people were forced to live under the corruption of one of countless corrupt governments.
then he lost his mind and invaded kuwait, and everything he built for iraqis was destroyed by american bombings and was unable to rebuild due to harsh sanctions and the popultion was rebealing and on brink of civil war so he had be tough and violent to his people to keep the iraq in peace
Saddam hussian was good for iraq until he invaded kuwait. he created a great heath service, education faciltys, infurcture, promoted iraqi cluture and tried to make baghdad beautufull and most importenly sercurty, iraqis were happy under him.he was a strong leader for iraq. he tired to be hero to the arab world by invading arabs histoical enermy Iran/persia.
Saddam isn't some fucking superhero, nor is any politician in anyway heroic. False belief in government as a savior let's corrupt men get away with anything they desire.
Saddam was a horrid man, not from the day he invaded Kuwait, but from the day he began coercing others.
@fadyb56 i guess we both live in different worlds. How did the holocaust make him a good leader? a good leader does Not promote genocide. In my country We are the people and We elect who we want to represent us. We the people make up every country in the world. We the people send our sons and daughters into war, We the people help rebuild, give money, health care to all. And We the people care about everyone, including yourself. May God always bless the USA.
@fadyb56 lol... Yes I believe Hitler was not a good leader... Yes i believe that we (USA) gives money to every country that needs it. It doesn't matter what i say, because its not about me or you. If you want to support genocide... At least you have a stand. I however don't support it, and its very hard for me to respect your opinion. Actually i dont respect it at all.
@jensha01 the good thing is i am not even looking for ur respect nor support! i am iraqi and i lived all these years of war. i have witness the killing, raping, destruction, bombing and worse first hand. i can only speak after having lived in 1- a dictatorship(saddam), 2- civil anarchy (4 years of war), 3- freedom (in canada, which u conside perfect nation),4- and the US. after seeing ur heaven!!! i still stand with national socialism.
@fadyb56 You say that Hitler is a good leader? But yet he killed 11 million innocent people. Hitler was antisemitic, in his beliefs so 11 million people died... You said you witness the killing, raping, destruction bombing and worse first hand.. But you're contradicting yourself. You can keep your national socialism and i'll keep my democracy. perhaps if you dont like the US you should leave.
@jensha01 why cotradict myself!! for witnessing such acts!!! its not my call to start with. the minute the west decided to stick its nose in the middle east and stand with israel, u have nothing to say.
lol. The surge - what a joke. Making each neighborhood their own little guantanamo bay and pretending the drop in violence is a victory.
Putting every American in prison may end the war on crime, poverty and drugs, but its an ass-end solution and it wont stop it from coming back even worse than before once freedoms are re-established.
I think its pretty obvious the surge did NOT work. Putting every neighborhood in its own prison is not winning. If anything its delaying the inevitable loss. Your loss.
So what did the surge do then, besides reduce violence by 80%? The inevitable loss of what? The country? Last I checked, things were getting better there (and yes, I have been there). And why is it my loss? Wouldn't it be "our" loss as a global community? Then again, this is exactly the type of attitude and defeatist idealism that make you so fun to be around.
First of all, acknowledging the reality that radical idiots are going to tear each other apart once your back is turned is NOT defeatism, you retarded pile of shit.
Secondly putting everyone in a cage may reduce violence, but it does nothing but galvanize their desire to cause that same abuse. Just like the German concentration camps we had in the US. More Nazi sympathizers came out of those camps than went in.
Its the rectal shitheads like you that make the veterans so easy to ignore.
Are we resorting to name calling now? How very convincing of you. You have certainly changed my mind with your sound arguments.
I didn't see cages. Maybe you can point them out to me. I did see walls, and they did reduce violence. If there were no walls, you would be the first to bitch about that, no doubt. How are these wall like the German concentration camps? Please explain. I have noticed a trend to compare things to the Nazis as convenient when they in fact have no basis. Great job!
Yeah, same old lie. Pretend that my calling you names and showing how stupid you are is the same as just calling you an idiot.
I wasn't comparing the American tactics to Nazis, shit for brains. I was comparing them to the German concentration camps the USA made here in the states back in the 40's. Or maybe you didn't know that we did that too. There were more Nazi sympathizers that came out of those things than went in. Or is realizing the USA fucked up then just more defeatism?
Do I make you angry? Try not to have a stroke over it! Any other insults you can hurl instead of coherent arguments? So you're saying that there will be more Nazi sympathizers in Iraq due to the U.S. strategy? For my part, I haven't heard of any more hardening of anti-U.S. sentiment from the walls. In fact, most Iraqis I know (of either sect) want the U.S. to control the violence as top priority, then leave when it gets down to a manageable level. Have a great day!
America is off my map. You no longer exist. If an American girl smiles at me in my country I will piss on her, a guy gives me crap - he's in a coma - he's meat on the street. F**K all of you. PUSH the button PUTIN and cure the disease.
It's not the peoples fault, most of us want troops out and agree with UN Sec Gen Kofi Anan that the Iraq war is illegal. We can't do crap about it. Our 2 party system is nothing but a DC Mafia of elite ego-maniacal proto-fascists. When it comes to enforce UN "law", they'll sacrifice 35,000 US casualties 1000s of miles away, when it comes to enforcing the laws on each other on US soil? they go gutless. Most people here are divided & conquered, refusing to kick the RNC / DNC FAILURES out.
Remember the american people were bamboozeled by their own government, they don't like it either. But most of them are too afraid to challange their own leaders unfortunatly.
very powerful video. The illegal US invasion and occupation of Iraq is responsible for the carnage, destruction, and death we see in Iraq today. The occupation needs to end now. The US should withdraw all the soldiers, contractors and dismantle the military bases. Iraqis can then pick up the pieces, reconcile, and rebuild their own country without foreign interference of any kind.
Articles 41 and 42 of Chapter VII of the UN Charter; The Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution in Article VI, Section 2; The Nuremberg Charter; Unanimous world opposition... Do you know about these things or do you just think US is badass enough to fuck the world and accumulate wealth while it burns??
no i thank any country able to counter attack a country that attacked them has the right to invade besides you act like we were the only ones that went there were not
It's pretty simple and straight forward. The US constitution makes it an illegal war.
The US was one of the first signatories of the UN charter. The UN charter has force of US law. Check it - it's in the US constitution. The UN security council declined to endorse the US invasion of Iraq. The war is an illegal war.
Whoa, nelly. The UN put 1441 into place in 2002. Now, we all agree there were no WMDs found, but the enforcement of it was what was supposedly the "go" to get in there. What needs to be done is a no kidding protocol for who and when for enforcement of resolutions. The facts is that there was no mechanism in place, so it's not simple and straightforward. Declining to endorse is NOT the same as prohibiting it. Sorry.
UNSCR 1441 put the U.N. inspectors in Iraq, which Iraq permitted. U.N. inspectors were prevented from completing their job because Bush's agenda was to invade Iraq regardless of the evidence.
I will say EXACTLY what I believe. Then I will turn and face the consequences with absolutely no fear. Bush and those that follow him deserve death. Some knob messaged me and thinks I'm a keyboard coward which is amusing given that I am not scared of any man on this planet, least of all USMC twerps.
A) Live in a country where you Cannot "say Exactly what I believe"
B) You're just some little bitch coward who is continuing to bastardize without consequence. Ironically any attempt to defend yourself here will be an act of keyboard cowardice. Maybe you should take your attitude to the streets and see how long it takes to get gunned down?
I'm glad you found a place where you can speak your hate without your face being shown. I'm sure you would think before speaking otherwise. One should always remember the young fight and die for the policies of old policy makers and politicians. Your resent should lie with them
Yes, and you;ll be the first one complaining when there are no Marines in your beloved Darfur or other sympathy area. You should try out a body bag, I'm sure you'd fit just right!
Tell the world: Unfortunately Americans aren't listening. They prefer the fantasy in their heads that America is #1, they make no mistakes, their leaders are honest, they treat the world fairly, they don't steal, they don't lie.
If Americans are reading, they'd learn in the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post that the Surge has been a magnificent success. However, given that both newspapers have supported the War in Iraq years before it actually started, readers with a memory will discard everything they read in the Wapo and Wall Street Journal.
KoroOutbreak said "You know the percentage of the globe that's American! WOW! Actually, you're completely wrong. You're so completely wrong that I don't want to correct you" -- BZZZZZZZZZZ WRONG JUNIOR, if you care to look at a simple quotient [USA population divided by world population , you arrive at 1/20 or %5], I was as it happens quite correct. You're a pathetic little twerp.
In the US, the Iraq War gets no more than 1 hour per week on the news programs. Americans think that the Iraq War is nothing more than some weekly sitcom. As far as they are concerned, there are more important sitcoms on TV now, survivor, you can't dance, etc. They actually believe that if they stop watching the war on TV, Hollywood will cancel the show, er the war, and put a new sitcom in its place. You know, another CSI-type fantasy but one that changes scenery a lot.
Certainly politicians and corporations are guilty of violating Iraq's sovereign statehood but this mess is also a perfect example of the insanity of religion. Christian, Muslim, Hebrew... you name it... I have come to the conclusion that religion is mental illness. After all, look at the results, country after country, millennium after millennium... chaos, death and mayhem.
Incredible and deeply sad video. Thank you for posting it. It is just as I guessed because, in spite of being an American citizen, I have never ... FOR ONE SECOND ... believed this government's endless lies.
Keymaker: Wow, you certainly were paying attention in economics weren't you! You know the percentage of the globe that's American! WOW! Actually, you're completely wrong. You're so completely wrong that I don't want to correct you, because it would make me feel like I'm correcting a mildly retarded boy who has accidentally tied his shoes together. So I will be kind instead. The economies of the world are inseparately tied. The currencies of the world even more so. Go to school.
Inseparably tied I meant to say. And I think the invasion of Iraq was both tragic and inevitable. The Iraqis I've spoken to (yes, I actually have Iraqi friends) were thankful that we got rid of Saddam Hussein, but would have liked for us to have left after a year. The entire was has been hijacked by the most corrupt and loathsome corporate parasites in America, all Bush's friends. Bush works with the Sauds, who are as nasty as any corrupt dictatorship.
Iraqis deserve, and will get, a free society, democratically run. I do not know how long this will take. Hopefully, not too many more years. We must hope that the Sunni, Kurdish and Shia leaderships see sense, and decide to work together to build a common Iraq. It is disheartening to see this video, but there is also much evidence that the worst is over.
Republicans who hail the success of the "benchmarks" laid out by Congress last year don't even know what they are. Try it. Just ask a Republican what exactly is happening there. They will turn red and go SURGE WORKED. SURGE WORKED. Then their circuit boards will become overpowered, and they will explode into a fine red mist of flesh and burnt diodes.
Your words are tangled in the lies you prefer to tell yourself. There is no pure and benevolent party. Do you think one is better then the other? Please provide the proof - because the Exective Branch by law has very limited power. Congress declares war, Congress legislates, Congress overides vetos, Congress provides war funding, Congress bails out banks and Congress can impeach. Stop looking for shadows to blame and start looking for solutions. Representive Government-accountablity!
The Bush / Rumsfeld / Cheney plan was always to incite and explode the racial tension between sunni and shia - do you know why? Because a) it takes the pressure of ALL iraqi's shooting at foreign invaders b) they kill each other - making the take-over easier c) classic 'divide and conquer' tactic d) it enables Bush / Obama to constantly justify 14+ military bases in the country.
This was not an accident - this was very much in the plan to take over iraq
For the last time, you do not want the American economy to fall apart. I know you middle easterners hate America, but really, unless you want the entire world economy to crumble and the world to be sent into the dark ages, you really should be hoping that we get our shit together.
Complete RUBBISH Koro - Do your homework. The US economy can (and will) fall and most of us will be just fine. You think your economy holds this planet together? That's amusing :-) The USA is less than SIX PERCENT of this planet - you got that? Now get this: We, the educated and civilised 94.5% of Earth are sick of your Bullsh1t. SIT DOWN and STFU.
Go to school.
ever hear "US sneezes, the World catches a cold....".. but having said that, i still cant get over the fact that the Nazis declared war on the Americans not the other way round, and that us Brits only finished paying off the wwii debt, even thought the us gov wiped the Nazi and japanies debt, i find this outrageous.
Thanks for these videos -if we can't get the news media to air the reality of what's going on over there, this is a great way to get the word out. Keep it up!
Baghdad had a $29 billion budget surplus between 2005 to 2007. With the price of crude roughly doubling in the past year, Iraq's surplus for 2008 is expected to run between $38 billion and $50 billion, according to a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
lolololol,,USA is paying for everything out of the tax paying citizens. What a joke,,,Way to go BUSH,,lololololo
Yes Orwell fans, we are living in upside down world. The wall went down in Berlin. Yayyyy, go USA! Now, Israel erects one with US dollars to cage the Palestinians and we build a labryinth of these in Baghdad right along with the billion dollar 40 acre embassy, the worlds largest, bigger than Vatican city. No wonder the locals are pissed off . . . The matrix is quite real.
if people actually payed close attention to the teachings of the true saints and masters as dictated in their scriptures, there would be no religious wars.
wars have nothing to do with religion and vice versa. religion is just a tool to unify people in hatred.
wars are completely cultural. the real grievances are based on one culture's injustice to another's. western cultures are responsible for many many conflicts they are not directly involved in, and for arming one side of these conflicts.
it's all john mccain and the republicans leading the push to convince americans that the surge actually accomplished something. it's simply isolation that has quelled the violence... for now. did we learn nothing from what this sort of thing did in germany? they are playing a huge trick on us, and some day soon, the situation is going to explode again. it's like putting a band-aid over a crack in the hoover dam. what a fucking mess.
Most Americans don't have a clue what our war has wrought in Iraq. They think it's safe now thanks to "the surge." Since Western journalists can't safely move around the city to get the story, we just don't find out.
I recommend everyone who sees this send a link to your friends and colleagues. Is this what American power should be all about?
Is this what we want to do with our tax dollars?
Is this what our young men and women are fighting to achieve?
Like the Right Wing Neocon Christian zelots who brought this illegal war to their soverign naion is any better? Lets not slide back into the dark ages and reject *ALL* religion.
Stalin was one guy. We have tried over 2000 years of Religion. How are 2000 years without and see. There are millions who live without 'belief' in anything. We are not murderers and thieves. We just are.
Religion is lifestyle not what you do on a friday, saturday or a sunday. Can you really not fined it within yourself to love your neighbor as you love yourself?
Religion is a lie that is passed on from generation to generation. I can find it in myself to more than love my neighbor. Truly, and hold no judgment on anyone. Religion however needs to be exposed from what it is. In the words of George Carlin ' The greatest BullShit story ever told"
I don't get it, we use applications of the theory of gravity everyday, and accredit Newton for the theory. But we love our neighbors as we love ourselves, but fail to notice religion taught us this in the times of ignorance.
My friend who said religion taught us to love ourselves. The animals who love and the ones who kill, who teaches them. When you peel away the lies and indoctrination everyone 'knows' We are just so far removed we believe if someone does not show us the 'way' we are lost. Not So.
We are now living in the time of the greatest ignorance. We have forgotten who and what we are and were we came from. It is not in any book it is inside ourselves. It is not inside war or religion or words. It is inside peace. Everything is we know it is a lie. Everything. What do we know to be true. Virtually nothing.
if you don't know to treat others with respect then you are a bad person. no person should need a book to tell them to be nice. People acted kindly toward each other long before religion was invented.
I don't think Einstein is a good example, while he did talk about the universe in a spiritual and religious way, he did not actually believe in a literal God or religion.
Islam, Judaism and Christianity all worship the God of Abraham.
Did you know that both Jesus and Noah's Ark are mentioned in the Koran?
If Christians strictly followed the Old Testament, shunning shellfish, pork, work on the Sabbath, mixed-thread clothing, and so on, you would see a lot more similarities than differences. Christians are pretty lax on a lot of things that are condemnable offenses in the eyes of Abraham's god.
this war has nothing to do with God as much as religion, think about it this way, the people who are responsible for this do not truly believe in God they believe in themselves.
I thought Iraq's oil paid for the war! (It is not paying for it). And it is perfectly okay for Iraqis to behead Blackwater contractors and American soldiers. If Mexico was to invade the USA, I'd be cutting Mexican soldier's heads off too!
i was there for the surge, 3rd ID scouts. we treated iraqi right, we treated all sunni and shia the same.

In God's eyes the location of your homeland means nothing, but your individual actions are everything.

but insteed WE the west kicked iraqi army out of kuwait then destroyed iraq and put harsh sanctions to make sure they cant recover in 1991 thous keeping the 2 million kuwaites super rich and spoiled and 30 million iraqis poor, missrable, vengaceful and violent. most of saddams crimes happened when george H.W bush incited rebblions in the country after the gulf war. saddam had to use violent force to keep his counrty in peace and avoid a situation like todays which is total civil war and anarcky
DST911 3 years ago
So, you're saying, that because in the Gulf War, when we kicked Iraq out of Kuwait, we're the bad guys? If a poor country is next to a rich country, the poor country should be allowed to invade the rich country because that would make "everyone" happy?
You're an idiot.
Lyph3 3 years ago
i was just saying why should a few people like kuwaits be millioners and spolied while millions of iraqis live in absoloute povety
if the two states united then the wealth would be evenly spread so iraqis would have better lives just saying
DST911 3 years ago
The mere status of wealthy living along side poor doesn't justify the use of force. When wealthy individuals attempt to coerce the poor, there's is a justification for self-defense.
Wealth is not inherently good or evil. Kuwaitis and Iraqis are not inherently good or evil. Analyze individuals on their merits rather than the social class they belong to.
The reason for the poverty of many Iraqis is much more complicated than you or I would like it to be.
couchpotatoe387 3 years ago
still historicaly Kuwait us part of iraq and in my opiniom kuwait should be part of iraq not and inderpendent city state filled with millioneres aslo saddam hussian was a pro western allie at that time and wanted to be freinds with the west that time he was no threat no west
DST911 3 years ago

DST911 3 years ago
kuwait had used a deep oil drilling process that leached oil from iraq-according to the story-cia new this and gave saddam the "ok"
on the invasion[just to set him up]
sanguine111 3 years ago
yeah USA wanted iraq to invade kuwait so they would have a good reason to turn there good freind saddam into an enermy which would allow the american public to support an invasion of iraq because the american goverment made saddam to powerful by giving him money and weaopns and to gain its oil fields
DST911 3 years ago
Nothing can justify genocide, which is what occurred when Iraqi military forces invaded Kuwait. NOTHING. Iraq was poor because of their ten year war with Iran, and Iraq's poverty doesn't justify invasion. War destroys economies, contrary to popular belief, and the Iraqi people were forced to live under the corruption of one of countless corrupt governments.
couchpotatoe387 3 years ago
first Iraqi army barely killed anyone in kuwait and if iraqs did kill kuwaites thats not a genocide because there the same people
i hate saddam because he used chemical weapons to kill 100,000 of my fellow iranians which the west helped and supported saddam at the time
DST911 3 years ago
then he lost his mind and invaded kuwait, and everything he built for iraqis was destroyed by american bombings and was unable to rebuild due to harsh sanctions and the popultion was rebealing and on brink of civil war so he had be tough and violent to his people to keep the iraq in peace
DST911 3 years ago
Saddam hussian was good for iraq until he invaded kuwait. he created a great heath service, education faciltys, infurcture, promoted iraqi cluture and tried to make baghdad beautufull and most importenly sercurty, iraqis were happy under him.he was a strong leader for iraq. he tired to be hero to the arab world by invading arabs histoical enermy Iran/persia.

YAY!!! The SURGE WORKED!!!
Xerock 3 years ago
The surge has worked. Get over it.
kermit456 3 years ago
I think its pretty obvious the surge did NOT work. Putting every neighborhood in its own prison is not winning. If anything its delaying the inevitable loss. Your loss.
Get over it.
Xerock 3 years ago
So what did the surge do then, besides reduce violence by 80%? The inevitable loss of what? The country? Last I checked, things were getting better there (and yes, I have been there). And why is it my loss? Wouldn't it be "our" loss as a global community? Then again, this is exactly the type of attitude and defeatist idealism that make you so fun to be around.
kermit456 3 years ago
First of all, acknowledging the reality that radical idiots are going to tear each other apart once your back is turned is NOT defeatism, you retarded pile of shit.
Secondly putting everyone in a cage may reduce violence, but it does nothing but galvanize their desire to cause that same abuse. Just like the German concentration camps we had in the US. More Nazi sympathizers came out of those camps than went in.
Its the rectal shitheads like you that make the veterans so easy to ignore.
Xerock 3 years ago
Are we resorting to name calling now? How very convincing of you. You have certainly changed my mind with your sound arguments.
I didn't see cages. Maybe you can point them out to me. I did see walls, and they did reduce violence. If there were no walls, you would be the first to bitch about that, no doubt. How are these wall like the German concentration camps? Please explain. I have noticed a trend to compare things to the Nazis as convenient when they in fact have no basis. Great job!
kermit456 3 years ago
Yeah, same old lie. Pretend that my calling you names and showing how stupid you are is the same as just calling you an idiot.
I wasn't comparing the American tactics to Nazis, shit for brains. I was comparing them to the German concentration camps the USA made here in the states back in the 40's. Or maybe you didn't know that we did that too. There were more Nazi sympathizers that came out of those things than went in. Or is realizing the USA fucked up then just more defeatism?
You dumb fuck
Xerock 3 years ago
Do I make you angry? Try not to have a stroke over it! Any other insults you can hurl instead of coherent arguments? So you're saying that there will be more Nazi sympathizers in Iraq due to the U.S. strategy? For my part, I haven't heard of any more hardening of anti-U.S. sentiment from the walls. In fact, most Iraqis I know (of either sect) want the U.S. to control the violence as top priority, then leave when it gets down to a manageable level. Have a great day!

very powerful video.

The invasion of Iraq was illegal according to International law and US law as well. A very good video is on youtube by Pinky the Cat Show
It explains in detail why the invasion and occupation of Iraq is illegal under both US and International law.
PHubb 3 years ago 2
Illegal? What judge has declared it? has the UN made a decision? Yeah, right
kermit456 3 years ago
It's pretty simple and straight forward. The US constitution makes it an illegal war.
The US was one of the first signatories of the UN charter. The UN charter has force of US law. Check it - it's in the US constitution. The UN security council declined to endorse the US invasion of Iraq. The war is an illegal war.
PHubb 3 years ago
Whoa, nelly. The UN put 1441 into place in 2002. Now, we all agree there were no WMDs found, but the enforcement of it was what was supposedly the "go" to get in there. What needs to be done is a no kidding protocol for who and when for enforcement of resolutions. The facts is that there was no mechanism in place, so it's not simple and straightforward. Declining to endorse is NOT the same as prohibiting it. Sorry.
kermit456 3 years ago
UNSCR 1441 put the U.N. inspectors in Iraq, which Iraq permitted. U.N. inspectors were prevented from completing their job because Bush's agenda was to invade Iraq regardless of the evidence.

This was not an accident - this was very much in the plan to take over iraq

wars are completely cultural. the real grievances are based on one culture's injustice to another's. western cultures are responsible for many many conflicts they are not directly involved in, and for arming one side of these conflicts.

This is the best documentary I've seen in a long time. Good luck senator McCain.

it's all john mccain and the republicans leading the push to convince americans that the surge actually accomplished something. it's simply isolation that has quelled the violence... for now. did we learn nothing from what this sort of thing did in germany? they are playing a huge trick on us, and some day soon, the situation is going to explode again. it's like putting a band-aid over a crack in the hoover dam. what a fucking mess.

A harrowing video. Before you make assessments about the success of war/the "surge", listen to Iraqis, not U.S. politicians.
rjhunt14 3 years ago 3

All religion is one big lie to keep people killing each other. Muslim, Jew, Christian...its all cults for the simple minded.
haywood16 3 years ago
Excuse me, we're talking about what the war has brought to Irak here, not about religion.
I think this has to do more with greedy (had Irak been oil-less, this never would've happened to them).

....religion is bad eyyy....no religion is even worse, remember Stalin?
msvf2 3 years ago
Stalin was one guy. We have tried over 2000 years of Religion. How are 2000 years without and see. There are millions who live without 'belief' in anything. We are not murderers and thieves. We just are.

Religion is lifestyle not what you do on a friday, saturday or a sunday. Can you really not fined it within yourself to love your neighbor as you love yourself?
msvf2 3 years ago
Religion is a lie that is passed on from generation to generation. I can find it in myself to more than love my neighbor. Truly, and hold no judgment on anyone. Religion however needs to be exposed from what it is. In the words of George Carlin ' The greatest BullShit story ever told"
onelovecandy 3 years ago
I don't get it, we use applications of the theory of gravity everyday, and accredit Newton for the theory. But we love our neighbors as we love ourselves, but fail to notice religion taught us this in the times of ignorance.
msvf2 3 years ago
My friend who said religion taught us to love ourselves. The animals who love and the ones who kill, who teaches them. When you peel away the lies and indoctrination everyone 'knows' We are just so far removed we believe if someone does not show us the 'way' we are lost. Not So.
onelovecandy 3 years ago
We are now living in the time of the greatest ignorance. We have forgotten who and what we are and were we came from. It is not in any book it is inside ourselves. It is not inside war or religion or words. It is inside peace. Everything is we know it is a lie. Everything. What do we know to be true. Virtually nothing.
onelovecandy 3 years ago
if you don't know to treat others with respect then you are a bad person. no person should need a book to tell them to be nice. People acted kindly toward each other long before religion was invented.

Religion is for those with a low IQ...easily manipulated.
haywood16 3 years ago
I beg to differ. So Stalin had a higher IQ than Einstein?
msvf2 3 years ago
I don't think Einstein is a good example, while he did talk about the universe in a spiritual and religious way, he did not actually believe in a literal God or religion.

he want a practicing Jew but he say "Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity." Gandhi?!!
msvf2 3 years ago
Dude you are so stupid, just check your last comment. You can't say that world is composed by what you know only. You might have a very low IQ.

Don't be blinded by propaganda. Read something!

Yeah read something like "God is not Great, How Religion spoils EVERYTHING" by Christopher Hitchens.
onelovecandy 3 years ago
this war has nothing to do with God as much as religion, think about it this way, the people who are responsible for this do not truly believe in God they believe in themselves.

I thought Iraq's oil paid for the war! (It is not paying for it). And it is perfectly okay for Iraqis to behead Blackwater contractors and American soldiers. If Mexico was to invade the USA, I'd be cutting Mexican soldier's heads off too!
