I was unaware for the longest time until one of the security guys at work brought me into his office to watch several weeks of video footage of some guy following me around my workplace. The police can't do anything because I don't know his name. I don't know what this guy is capable of, but I want to be prepared in case he tries anything. In Canada, we are practically defenseless. Anyone can barge into my house at any moment with an AK47 and all I got to fight back with is sticks and stones. Guns are legal, but there are so many restrictions and licenses and permits and courses and rules that it makes your head spin.
I hear that all the time...but thats just not true. I am Canadian and own an AR-15 and 2 handguns, a Glock 17 and a Beretta 9mm. You can own any number of firearms in Canada...u just need a licence and the weapons need to be registered. All it took was two weapons handling courses, pay the fees and send in my application. 2 months later I had a restricted firearms licence. It wasn't a big deal at all.
How useful is your Glock 17 locked, in a case, unloaded, in the trunk of your car? I'm sure that's going to stop the carjackers. I took the hunting course, passed the practical with flying colours, was grandfathered my dad's Browning over and under, and now they tell me I need a PAL or POL or whatever the hell it's called?!? I can't even get ammo. Why do I need to take the same course all over again? You need a permit to have something that is ILLEGAL. I stand by all my comments.

At the time our founding fathers conceived of the 2nd amendment they intended for the populace to be as well armed as the standing army in case they ever had to resist it. I would say the "average" soldiers modern rifle, not tanks or nukes.
...As far as some tyrannical legislation I might start at the income tax, the anti-drug laws, wiretapping and all of the patriot act nonsense, etc. If you want a complete list PM me, I would be happy to rant more about this.

In Canada, we are practically defenseless. Anyone can barge into my house at any moment with an AK47 and all I got to fight back with is sticks and stones. Guns are legal, but there are so many restrictions and licenses and permits and courses and rules that it makes your head spin.

I hear that all the time...but thats just not true. I am Canadian and own an AR-15 and 2 handguns, a Glock 17 and a Beretta 9mm. You can own any number of firearms in Canada...u just need a licence and the weapons need to be registered. All it took was two weapons handling courses, pay the fees and send in my application. 2 months later I had a restricted firearms licence. It wasn't a big deal at all.

How useful is your Glock 17 locked, in a case, unloaded, in the trunk of your car? I'm sure that's going to stop the carjackers. I took the hunting course, passed the practical with flying colours, was grandfathered my dad's Browning over and under, and now they tell me I need a PAL or POL or whatever the hell it's called?!? I can't even get ammo. Why do I need to take the same course all over again? You need a permit to have something that is ILLEGAL. I stand by all my comments.
