Yes the sound is very painful to the ears. I find most of these videos don't pay attention to the quality of music or recording and why is this so when it is so simple to arrange a good recording?. I have to watch these adorable dancers with the sound off!
108 karanas. I wonder if 108 is a cipher; I saw it also in a gayatri mantra. Such a cool culture. California... we have French fries, Jerry Springer, and the almighty, all powerful and magical omnipresent scotch tape... oh sigh- why cant our country be more likes yours.
LOLOLOLOOL. that is probably the funniest comment I've read in a few weeks!
The great thing about Americans (I'm Indian American) is that they are open-minded enough to at least acknowledge and appreciate other cultures unlike most other people.
True. I am an American of white-European descent, and I love other cultures, especially the dance, art, and musical aspects. Hindu culture is a favorite of mine. It's so unique and individual to it's people that you'd never be able to confuse it with anything else. What I love most about it is that it is a living manifestation of it's own ancient origins. It's like you don't have to wonder what culture was like a thousand years ago because you can still see examples of it everywhere in India.
i think ideal age for complete dance performance is about 10-15 give or take one or two either way since they are really flexible to perform all kinds of complex movements as seen in this great video.
I visited Mahabalipuram in December 1996 and enjoyed all of the beautiful sculpture. Your excellent choreography and dance in this location is wonderful! I'll never forget the sound of the sculptor's clinking chisels throughout the town as I arrived. It was a fascinating time. I was lucky to meet a young artisan who showed me his impeccable drawings. I hope to come again; for now I'm lucky to live in the San Francisco with much great Carnatic music and Bharathanatyam dance.
They are amazing. Their aramandi's are beautiful, and lines are very clean. So many amazing dancers from this school. I wish the sound quality was better. Thank you for posting!
