  • Magical....

  • Music...mmmmmm. sweet melodies. nd albums that told a story.....TIME.....!

  • mistrzostwo swiata

  • Yes..yes it dose.

  • i heard this album in 1983 and i love it.

  • @padrede3 I heard it in 1991. Right up there with TOMMY & THE WHITE ALBUM.

  • I hear people my age (I'm 23) and younger talk about wanting to be alive in this era. While that would be cool, I am perfectly content with living in the present. I have all of this music at my fingertips on my iPod. Back then the only way to hear the music was to own the album or listen to the radio and hope they played your favorites.

  • hey theres no dislikes on this video, a mean wow :D

  • Ask any 70s follower "who was Jeff Lynne?". They won't know. One of the most underrated talents of all time.

  • @cesar1963able I thought the same thing, and said so to some friends, who all looked at me like I was nuts. They all knew exactly who Jeff Lynne is. Nice.

  • @gadgetsage I stand to be corrected. I am happy they know.

  • @gadgetsage Maybe I should rephrase my response. I think if you were to ask who were the great "minds" of 70s music, I'm not sure Jeff Lynne would be a major topic of conversation when he should be.

  • @cesar1963able It's not true. I know who Jeff Lynne is.

  • @wieslawl59 Hi there!

  • I hear "Crimson and Clover" in this :)

  • thanks so much, mac. my 3 year old loves ELO.

  • He was/is an incredibly good songwriter. All the songs on this album were great! : )

  • This comment string is not the first time I've heard this song compared to "The Tide is High". Not to take anytihing away from Jeff Lynne, but some of his songs DO sound like other, earlier songs (i.e. Mr. Blue Sky sound very much like The Beatles "A day in the Life" Not enough to call it plaigerism, but similar chord progressions in the verses.) Afer all, many of us consider him the fifth Beatle.

  • the stereo upload is awesome.

  • I Love this song, brings back wonderful memories! Thanks

  • Somehow I don't think Jeff Lynne needed to listen to Blondie to get ideas.

  • Wow I wounder how many people click the link under CLICK HERE FOR STEREO SOUND:................ clever one you are.

  • Awesome band awesome album awesome song!

  • E.L.O. the best Masters of music. Very thank for this song!!!

  • I love this song, ELO are the gratest of all .

  • Brilliant song, brilliant album, thanks for uploading. Need to get together with my old mate Mr Bridges, sitting in my garden having a few sherbets and singing the whole album through out of key again!

  • my parents married on this song :) my father had a lot of vinyl discs which i used to listen very often when I was young. I am so glad he introduced me to the world of '60-'70-'80 music

  • This was Jeffs Sgt Pepper Album (he adored the Beatles), a concept of time travel, beautiful music, catchy songs that have stood the test of, 'time'

  • How can you not love this?

  • Love the "Fifties" flavor in this piece.........WHAT A GREAT PIECE!!!!

  • This is so good. I crank up the volume, drive to work, and it puts a smile on my face.

  • I love the easy beat of this song. You just want to get up, wander down the street with your hands in your pockets, sun on your face, wistful mood in your mind, swagger a bit and whistle this tune. Love it.

  • Or maybe a skil-saw (circular saw) cutting a plank of wood?

  • Does anyone else think that from 0:06 to 0:08 it sounds like someone is grinding on a piece of metal?

  • Doo-Wop with a pinch of Reggae.

  • One of Jeff Lynne's sexiest songs ever. I want you too, baby!

  • One of my favorite songs of the 80's. I was in college when this song came out. Nostalgia for decades of great music. 60's,70's and 80s.

  • the best song ever

  • This was my favorite album in high school. I played it so often, it's embedded in my subconscious. I haven't heard these songs in 30+ years, but surprised myself when I clearly remembered all the lyrics. Thanks for posting these!

  • Uwielbiam ELO, cudowna muzyka, chwytająca za serce.

  • jeff lynne copying off olivia newton-john. give me a break. although brian wilson did get surfer girl from listening to if you wish upon a star so i guess anything's possible.

  • its ok, but not my....genra.

  • One of their more unusual tracks; LOVE the drum machine loop holding everything together. To say nothing of yet ANOTHER irrestible Jeff Lynne chorus. Ahhhh :-) :-)

  • future past..50's rockabilly in the eighties, a little more techno than the stray cats,

    that's how I see this song. =o)

  • Time would have been a better album had they left this song off it and added Julie Don't Live Here. Other than that fantastic album. This song is ok as a B side.

  • @MrBlueSky1978 I wonder how many million selling albums you've made.

I'd stay away from giving Jeff Lynne too much advice.

  • @IwoketheDEMON Nice name and 'tip of the hat to 'God'

  • When this came out, the window of the record store was plastered with this poster. From across the street it looked like a golf ball on a tee and I wondered what the hell.... I like this album a lot. Good road music.

  • Sweet childhood memories, man im in highschool and i can feel my childhood slowly slipping away. Growing up sucks.

  • @cullotte3 i feel the same way... :(

  • @cullotte3 I know what you mean. I graduated back in June. My father used to play this music for me when I was a kid and I still love it.

  • @cullotte3 My husband luuuuuuvs this song, he slips into his childhood apartment in Manhattan and holds a smile, singing the lyrics away :)

  • @cullotte3 I can't wait to leave high school.

  • Whats the one with Olivia Newton John in the video?

  • That would be Xanadu. She sings that one too. :)

  • @fekhoff Xanadu movie

  • @fekhoff

    Xanadu album

  • MAN I miss these guys :(

  • awesome!!!

    elo is so classic

  • I love this song. It's one of my favorites from Time.

Macgyverkickyourass, I ask you, doesn't this song sound a little like Blondie's "The Tide is High" with the tropical sounding beat?

  • I never made the connection, but yes, both songs sound exactly the same. Hmm...

  • @MACGYVERKICKYOURASS

That said, the chord sequence is a very common one, There are a thousand over songs that are similar

  • @MACGYVERKICKYOURASS i might disagree with u guys slightly.REGGAE IS REGGAE.IT ALL SOUNDS SOMEWHAT THE SAME

  • Reggae.

    That's what it is called.

And that's about the similarity between those songs.

Though, as everyone can see, both songs are simply beautiful.

  • @shogunblade

    no

  • That's a good one. I also always felt like it sounded a little like "Love Is Strange" by Mickey and Sylvia for some reason. I suppose I'll be roasted alive for having the audacity to suggest that, as usually happens on Youtube.

  • @shogunblade thats what i always thought
