Arthur Brown won't start at LB. The starting group is gonna be Spence, Sharpton, and McCarthy. But we need some of the backups like Brown, Buchanan, and Futch to step up.

Starting safeties will be better than last year now that we got Philips and Telemaque back from injury but there's nobody good behind them.

Brandon Harris should be good at CB but everyone else is sketchy.

O-Line needs to take care of business first & foremost, for Jacory to be able to run Whip's O. They right now are the weakest unit on the team & basically the most important. Shore up the O-Line play, and also the run D as well. Phillips will provide some leadership in the back 7, hopefully C-Mac will kill the injury bug that has been plaguing him & help the LBs. It all starts in the trenches though, esp. the 1st game against FSU. Mickey Andrews is going to throw the house at the O-Line.

Lets not forget this is an NFL offense. It was good to see the FB making catches. How many times did Nix pass to the FB? Or for that matter hand it off to the FB? Even the TE caught a few. I think we will have a very high powered offense that can and will score from ANYWHERE on the field. That will allow the D to pin it's ear's back and get after the QB. Lets also not forget this is just a spring game. The D wasn't going for the kill shots like they will when the season starts.

I'm looking forward to Vernon turning heads and possibly starting by mid-season the way M-Rob did. I love Vernon's attitude. I agree about Vernon. I think the D line is going to be scary fast this year. If that is the case we should see a lot more INT's this year. I really think we would have won a lot more games last year if we actually ad a decent OC. I can't wait for the 11 other recruits that will be in during summer and fall. I can't wait for the season to start.

And Sam Shields could be another pleasant surprise. I wish he could RS but unless McGee and Reid can really step in and step up it doesn't look like we'll be able to RS Sam. Ray Ray's going to have a serious challenge leapfrogging the bunch of safeties we have. Which I'm sure will make him want to prove he c an do ti even more. It's good. Very good.

We need him more at safety than WR. We already have four WRs who are bigger and stronger than any of the DBs we'll face. We're a little thin at safety though. JoJo and Wylie need to make strides or Ray Ray will fly right by them. VT is a lock. And Randy P. has improved. But to me the dream lineup will be Ray and VT back there.

yeah I don't think it's going to be that hard for RR. Did you see him in the UA game. He was flying to the ball and making hits just about every play. The kid is going to make a big impact early well IMO. I will say this St Thomas Aquinas is sick with talent in the secondary this year. There will be a lot of great talent coming out of south Florida this year. Miami is well on it's way to signing a better class this year then when they signed in '08

Yeah, he was all over the field but RR have to learn schemes and assignments in college. That's why I say hopefully he can learn quickly.

I've heard a couple of people say this year's class could be better than 2008. Team Shannon should get the pick of the litter, especially Jeff Luc.

All the Frosh baby Canes from last year have one year under their belt. They're only going to get better and better. Finally a REAL offensive game plan with Whipple. O-Line needs to man up, they're the weakest part of the entire team. Corners are the second weakest part. Do your job, know that the man next to you will hold up and do his job - everything will be fine. I love this team. Coker tried to kill the program, Shannon is raising it from almost death. Patience Canes fans, its almost back.
