ok when you watch the video on the bottem center of the screen you see the N7 right weill there is 3 bars there everytime you shoot a "power" it will consule bars. Yes the recharge rate is also sweet.
But you also have to remember that originally the adept could only wear light armor and use pistols, so even though he/she is powerful its probably wont take a lot to die too.

They are good on ME1! On Insanity biotic shutdown moves are a necessity on Mass Effect 1 (for locking down entire rooms of people).
