@llperez28 Yes, the 1977 film is taken from Koontz's 1973 novel, albeit a looser adaptation.  All I can divulge is that Alex Harris is a more peripheral character in the book compared to Susan and Proteus.

I remember the scene where the computer is talking to her about showing her things that no man can. I don't recall exactly what it was but it seemed to involve space or astronomy type things.

Its neat to see how each decade has its own interpretations of what technology terror looks like.

But yeah maybe this movie is one of the reasons I study artificial intelligence today.

This computer depiction was a bit perv of its life renewal ideas. The HAL 9000 was more asexual. Technically, Proteus was the inner thoughts of her husband, the inventor of it. Still, a great timepiece of fiction. I watched it every chance it showed on television.
