If I were you, I discourage the use of glass, because it can become sharp shrapnel if it explodes in anyway. The best container to build your wet cell container out of is the water filter housing. It is something you might want to consider.
!!! I am doing something similar and wanted to make larger fingered plates like yours - I didnt think of threaded rod and a few nuts :) thanks for the idea- Im going to try 1 inch steel stock 1/8inch...I figure I can sand them down much easier after a few uses..anyway- thanks again!
You are mixing the hydrogen and oxygen you need to isolate the two rods a partition on top half is perfect; so one will create hydrogen and the other oxygen this is done in grade 8 science class in Canada.
Great first try maybe you should take lots of science and mechanical class if you like this type of thing.
