Actually, that is why the SmartHeap crashes so readily. If objects that were in mid update while not being directly viewed, but were within the clients draw distance, and the clients avatar moves away, partial data remains and can trash the cache. I think our PCs have sufficient storage that all the base data for a given region could be DLed to our machines so that our home regions, for instance, or others we frequent a lot, could be fully stored.
we call it the draw distance, and for as long as I have known the downloaded objects are cached in the clients hard drive and read again when needed

That way, only *update* deltas would be needed for objects and textures that have changed since we were last there would be needed.
