I just love it when after he is finished playing, alvin puts the violin on the floor, kneels before it, pours charcoal lighter fluid on it and sets it on fire.

I saw Alvin and the band at Blanco's in Houston a little while ago, and I brought an well-worn Alvin Crow 8-track for him to sign. I walked up to Alvin when he was on stage just before the second act and I asked him if he would autograph my Alvin Crow 8-track. He said "Oh my God, look at this boys - he gathered the band around - I can't believe that there's an 8-track still around." He signed it and said that it belongs in the Smithsonian.

It must be 35 years since I last was on the dance floor of the Broken Spoke. I'm sure Alvin and the Boys were playing then.
