9mm was devolped by georg luger in 1902 for use in the luger pistol for the german army....it was labeled the 9mm parabellum... latin for "to obtain peace prepare for war" 9x19mm 115 grain to 147 grain 1100 to 1300 feet per second depending on bullet weight....what more is there to say?

A caliber can't be a reliable firearm. It's a round, it is shot from a firearm that can be sturdy or reliable. The 9x19 parabellum is a round that was developed by Luger after German soldiers complained of a weak cartridge that was used in the Luger P08 at that time, he then redesigned his round and chambered the Luger for the 9mm. Only to have created a legendary firearm and round still use in "today's society".

You really need to be more specific champ. Tip - if you are going to talk about a cartridge show a cartridge not a gun. If you going to display a gun at least relate to it i.e. "this is a S&W Mod 915, it's a good example of a 9mm semi auto. It holds 15 rounds as opposed to 11 rounds for the same type of gun chambered in 40 S&W...etc. Another tip – show some enthusiasm, you sound like you don’t want to be doing this. Keep practicing!

It use to be the local gov did not want cops with powerful weapons because of over penetration. So 38 special. No 38 plus p. you got months off for a 357 with out pay.

Why the switch the cops could not hit any thing with only 6 rounds. So they went with the 9mm a less powerful then the 38 special but they had more lead to spray around. They on average only hit about 40 % of the time in fire fight. The so called civilians do worse in a real fire fight. .

He may be referring to 9mm used in every U.S. mid-east war since 1990. Beretta M9 is the 9mm used by U.S. Army & Air Force, M9A1 used by U.S. Marines.

As far as i know security contractors dont have an issue when it comes to carrying standard issue weapons so they have the freedom to carry whatever they want. Whoa whoa whoa...a 9 mm Luger is the exact same bullet diameter as a .38. I don't know what the hell he's talking about unless he's trying to compare the 9 mm Luger to a .380, in which the former is a 9x19 mm, where the latter is 9x17 mm.
