  • MAN TAR IKKE TING INN I STORMTROMMA! DERE KAN GRAVE DERE!

  • DU KAN GRAVE DEG!

  • It's called muffling

  • But, i don't know where my auntie keeps her underwear...

  • I actually dont have any overtones with my bass unmuffled, but I like the sound of a pillow in there, it just gives it a really "punchy" sound ;D

  • or just by an emad..

  • 441 like 441 dislikes lol

  • YEAH!!!! I gave this f*cking video the 441 "don't like it" lol!!

  • u can shove anything in there ( thats what she said)

  • Or you could learn how to tune properly.

  • wtf!!! dude ive been following your dj vids for years...i sold my gear and brought a set of drums NOW ive discovered youve got drum vids too?...can you play the trumpet?

  • wow... that's one of best drum pedals of all time kkk

  • is it like...snowing from the ground up in your room or something??

  • @randomdude1426 That's just dandruff.

  • how bout you throw that shit hat in there f*** the yanks!

  • @FREETHINKITOVA um... you take away the base drum skin?

  • evan's ring works too

  • aunties underwear :/

  • can I shove my girl bra in there? you think it will sound good?

  • @majestytd Only if you make a video of yourself play with your shirt off after! Haha

  • @asecretninja lol

  • I used to have a good sounding bass drum... but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • sounds like shit both ways

  • Aquarious super kick one FTW! and maybe a drum pillow n ull b fine

  • Pillows work better :3

  • He's British, what do you expect? :P Totally kidding, I love British people.

  • Dead, dead, dead, try leaning how to tune your bassdrum properly, and DONT SHOVE ANYTHING IN IT!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now I know i'm not the only one with a collection of my aunt's underwear (:

  • It depends on your style. A reggae guy will like the dead sound as will most funk guys. A rock guy or jazz guy wants sustain. Cheers!

  • Shove something in there. hmm lol

  • well thats nice, but theres another drum head on the back...

  • i think i want better than "slightly better"...

  • @ChiliFromChile buy good drums and put an aquarious super kick 1 on then :)

  • Some heads come with a foam ring which eliminates excess overtones. The advantage here is that the entire internal volume of the drum is available to produce sound. That said, if you don't have one of those heads or a foam dampening ring, a blanket or jacket will do just fine.

  • Just get a Powerstroke Pro or an EMAD, or just get some other bass head and tune it properly

  • thank you so much this was helpful for me

  • I have an 18 x 22 renown bass .. emad and reso with 4 inch porthole .. felt beater and no pillows, blankets ... learn to tune your drums properly its an accoustic instrument so let them ring

  • @ShaunHavoc people have different taste. I peronally dont like the echo.

  • i got 2 pillows and an emad drum head ohhh god it sounds sweet

  • Conformist...

  • "slightly better, which is what you want."

  • wow !! Einstein !! -.- ..

  • put a pillow in it thats what i do

  • hold on hold on...wait!...thats a bass drum...and thats a bass....drum........pedal.....wait wait...no slower this time..... thats two much to process in one go....

    :D

  • my aunties underwear would not fit :(

  • It's much better to use two pillows, both on the thin side. Place one long way in the drum. The area of the pillow end you put against the drumhead will dictate how much punch you get. Then place the second pillow across the first. This helps hold the first pillow in place, and absorbs overtones the other pillow can't.

  • Terrible sound... Blanket works, but always have a head on the resonant head on the drum!!! You lose a ton of ton by not having it!

  • @PanterA7454 I would like to know that too

  • does the size of the blanket matter?? if so how does the sound vary in different sized blankets

  • Buy EVANS EMAD Bassdrumhead

....there's no better sound, and you don't need any blanket...etc-

  • splendid chap... thanks for the tip :)

  • or just use a pillow like most people do...

  • Get yourself a hoover...

  • ok so your in a band and you go to a gig with 3-4 million people there your playing the drums with a bed sheet in the drum wonder what the audience would think

  • @TheMagicmiller1 they would think what a great kick drum sound :P

  • @TheMagicmiller1 they would think what a great kick drum sound :P almost every venue and band has a pillow or something in the bass drum to dampen the sound

  • @TheMagicmiller1 they would think what a great kick drum sound :P almost every venue and band has a pillow or something in the bass drum to dampen the sound

  • 'Slightly better, which is what you want." Dang. I was making it ALOT better. -.- if only I would've known to only make it sound a LITTLE better. . . :P

  • great

but What can i do with my floor tom?

caN I DO THIS SAME THING?

    please someone responde me

  • @UnrealEliminator Maybe use Moon Gel or Evans E-Rings...

  • sound more like a hammer bangning on a sheet of plywood than a bassdrum...slightly better :)

  • sound more like a hammer bangning on a sheet of plywood than a bassdrum...slightly better :)

  • Anythink?

  • Reaaallyyy?????

  • Auntie's underwear lol

  • Why not losen the skin? LOL

  • @wgnwhite Mine's loose too. Some guys like there's tight like you're hitting a table with the resonant head (front) loose. All depends on your game I guess.

  • @libssukk well if you really want to "game" the drum even cheap drum if given expensive skin will sound nice. Beside each brand name have their own strong point. Just mix and match. My band conf is Yamaha skin with cheap Tama body and some paper brass Zildjian cymbals.

  • @wgnwhite that would make it sound flappy

  • @DrummerElite13 not too lose of course. It's like tuning a guitar, too lose, it lose the tone.

  • Get an emad!

  • @MrTomzProductions No... Powerstroke 3...

  • Or better yet........LEARN HOW TO TUNE YOUR DRUMS!!!

  • haha. that was horrible man

  • how the hell it got 300k views? because of the aunties underwear?

  • Buy a better bass drum, take all that padding out, you only need a little bit if any, put some decent heads on, and tune it.

  • Evans eMad, tune (properly) and walk away.

    simple as that.

anything else and you'll be tuning for days or have a crappy kick sound.

  • slightly better, hahahaha love it

  • The best thing is Remo Powersonic Bass Drum head that actually comes with Proffesional Mufflers sytem on it and to get new drum heads

  • He seems like a great guy. And the advice is good. ;-)

  • my bass drum doesn't sound good.. better drink my own piss.

  • if you want a better drum sound, don't tune your kit and use a trigger :P

  • Early 90's looking Pearl. Export series maybe? Great kit.

  • so wrong...

  • If you want great sound from your drums, shove a bunch of stuff in them!

    ...No.

  • your dj tutorials are better.

  • But I like open, melodic, lively drums :( ... not dull thud dumpy. A thud with some hair-parting resonance... the kind that makes air shoot up out of the beer bottles sitting onstage :D

  • i dont use blankets at all. use some muffle rings or that foam weather tape( you can get it at any hardware store) . make a ring around the outer edge, ur drum will resonate better, and it is a lot easier to control how much muffling you need based on preference. also, if you move your set around, it always stays in one place. this goes for all drums

  • umm i just stared druming so i looked up how to make it less of an echo... why didnt i think of this..

  • i think we all drummers know this since the day we're born.

  • look at all those orbs floatin around!! paranormal activity!!

  • So drum manufacturers should stuff their grand ma's underwear in it. Come on dude, first of all buy a decent kit and half of the problem is salved.

Second put a decent batter head on it, that might be the best solution ever. Forget blankets and under wear.

    Drum tutor my ass.

  • TUNE THE BATTER HEAD AS LITTLE TENTION AS POSSIBLE THEN TUNE THE OTHER ONE LIKE MEDIUM-HIGH THEN CUT A 4-6 INCH HOLE IN THE FRONT AND PUT A PILLOW IN IT.. BEST SOUND AND GREAT FOR RECORDING

  • it sounds better with the "ecoey" sound -.-

  • What is there to practice?

  • tour aunties under wear (lol!)

  • hahaha anyone can ghetto rig

  • Nice hat

  • sounds like using a wall as a bass drum

  • Or you could buy an Emad2.

  • @BLdrummer740 lol hellyeah

  • wow i been knew that

  • its called tuning....

  • O roight, I love it when You get the English and Auzzy dude's, cuz they know WTF they are talking about.!!!

  • you need to learn how to put a hat on.

  • What can't he teach!

  • You guys need to stop hating. Have you considered the fact that he doesn't even have both drum heads on? Of course it still sounds like shit

  • @thatguywththedreads he does have both heads on and even if the front head was off it wouldent change the sound trust me i use to have my front head off well i guess it does change the sound alittle but not much and its also not tuned right so thats also why it sound kinda bad

  • @candylandFreak1914 yeah I don't think people understand that he shoved the blanket through the hole in the front that is used for recording the bass drum

  • There's no way my aunties underwear would fit in something that small!

  • *infact

  • Intact il just stuff your anties bag of dildos in there n see how that works

  • In fact it musts to touch a really really little bit both skins, and then it sounds good.

  • Um, not exactly a good tip.

  • never put strong adhesive tape like tuck tape on your drums. if you leave it on long enough it can leave a resedue on ur drum and if you have a coated drum it will take the coating off. if you want to externley muffal your drums use moongel or O rings. there is also spesial tape that you can use for muffeling, which is not what he used apparentley

  • .|.

  • for a drummer watching this video, possibly one of the most redundant and basic tips a person could ever give. my 8-year old has better bass sound than that.

  • Sound horrible!

  • There are mad flies in this house

  • it sounds like guns shots after you put the blanket it

  • It sounds banging a hammer against wood

  • i need help with taking the drum skin off

  • dont put anything in your bass drums or any drums, get better heads and tune properly to get a night bright fat tone, dont liston to these people that ruin your drums with stuffnig crap in them,

  • @jammer4321 it doesnt ruin your drum if you put stuff in

  • tasf tasf tasfffm

  • how bout start off with NEW drum heads properly tuned... I dont believe in dampening.. all this does is kill the harmonics of the drum and the head.. all this is is a weak pathetic shortcut to proper drum tuning

  • I will use my mom...

  • aunties panties!!!! aaaaaaahhhhahahaha

  • its better to use a big pillow

  • ooohhh thanks didnt know that before -.-

  • nice hat xD

  • 0:34 i've got a blind kid

  • the band "screwdriver" anyone?

  • papapa

  • what a shity old bass drum and ugly pearl pedal from da 60's or what?

  • his cap

    is gay

  • two words BOB GATZEN

  • All you need is a tuned drum head on the side of the pedal and one single bed's thick blanket and a fluffy pillow tune the other just to start to feel tension and there you go... My Dixon drum bass kan be compared with a decent pearl drum bass :D.. Try it...

  • Just Loose the skin and take a Madress and cut so it fitt in the bottom of the drum.. thats make drum "dead"..

  • how about shoving my wife in there ?

  • why are there so many fucking bugs roaming around?

  • "slightly better, which is what you want" No shit! haha :D

  • I just increased your dislike number by one. I would have gave you more dislikes if youtube let me :)

  • Thank you for teaching this great news. Now I can get the most out of my drum.

  • What's with all the fleas flying around?

  • R U kidding me...???

  • I've got that pedal XD

  • What you also can do is place a brick in side with the blanket to help the vibration. ;)

  • WOW you have revealed a great secret!!

  • You CAN tune a bass drum without muffling. All you need is a decent kick head and some common sense with tuning. It's the room your jamming in that will make the difference.

  • lol, like no one knows that

  • its reverb

  • this isn't an amazing sound but your blanket is a good trick for people who don't have any idea's of how to get a nice sound out of a Bassdrum

  • why are you always wearing some random hat?!?!

  • what you wanna do hear mate is actually purchase a quality head... have you ever heard the saying "you can't polish a turd"?

  • i have ludwig drums and i have nothing in the bass drum and it doesnt echo out the sound at all. people dont by a piece of shit drum set and it wont sound like a piece of shit.....please dont put your furniture in your drums. apply yourself to playing good music and save up for a pearl or ludwig drum.. i recommend ludwig, john bonham sound is awsome!!

  • @xAxnikxlinxAx allrddy thought about : Tama or Sonor ( got them ) they sound also amazing i've also had a pearl sounds amazing but i bought another one Ludwig is also good i totally agree with that

this are the best and not to expensive like DW

pearl, Tama , Sonor, Ludwig and Yamaha. ( they aren't ranked btw.. they are all simulair they sound like a beast when you do it right!)

  • jakieś muchy ci tam latają

  • garbage

  • you'd better put coke and mentos in it :p

  • yea sure like im going to bloody shuv my hole bed in there

    MUM: what are you doing

ME: oohh nothing making my base sound like a thud while caping in side of the base drum

you really would seem like a prick

  • @slashenator not funny

  • yeah.. i kinda want great.. not slightly better

  • Or just put on an Evans Emad2 head on...

    Big Boy Style

    Crap Bass ...

  • or you could just tune your drums correctly adding a pillow or a blanket in the makes you drum not have its natural resonating tone, but that's what i care about it wouldn't be echoing if there was a better bass drum head too and if it was tuned correctly just google how to tune a drum hahah, i just use an emad evans head

  • No shit

  • emad or gmad evans heads, yout dont need anything in your bass all you need is a little muffling attached to the head to take the nasty overtones out. i use the small one on my batter head and take the larger one that comes with it and tape it to the inside of the front head. ive never had a better tone, you can tune it how you want and get whatever sound you want without the horrible sounding overtones.

  • we want more than "slightly better"

  • @Baldodeathmetal it's very obvious that when you add more cloth or other material it will sound better :)

  • @Baldodeathmetal well you dont get slightly better you get and slightly bettahh sound.. :P

  • 0:50 thats what she said ;)

  • @96drummer96 (shove something in there)

  • @canadiandrummer54 Yeah, there are also some things that Bob Gatzen calls "Adjustable dumping system" which lowers the pitch of your bass drum. Also you need to make a porthole (Which I haven't because of lack of the things needed to make it) so the sound doesn't get trapped and make that BOOM with reverberation. With all of those things your bass drum will sound almost perfect. Its perfect when it is also tuned correctly.
