The restoration of Calypso - Part II

I grew up watching the show, worked in a boatyard on Cape Cod in the 80's and was commercial and recreational diving through the years. To see the inside an outside of this most famous vessel being restored, is magical.

c'est plus une reconstruction qu'une rénovation..vu l'état..! mais je ne me lasse pas de revoir ces images. quand on pense que c'etait un ancien dragueur de mines !

c'est un peu des 2, car on voit nettement qu'ils ont décidé de conserver les parties d'origine qui n'ont pas pourri (remises en état, rabotage et traitement certainement, ponçage ect)... donc rénovation pour ses parties précises la, et reconstruction effectivement pour les parties vraiment trop endommagées par le temps et l'humidité qu'il a fallu détruire et reconstruire ...

en tout cas, chouette boulot de bretons ! ça c'est des gars de la mer ;-) ! picolez pas trop quand meme !

This is absolutely beautiful. As a child in the 1970s, I was inspred by watching Cousteau and the Clypso on TV. It is deeply moving to see Calypso taken apart and restored. This is wonderful.

you are unfortunately right, francine cousteau does not look to be really environmentalist indeed hired in the ideology, but rather opportunistic on the succession of what leaves her his husband

she have feet on earth at financial level and working of pictures and name " Cousteau " she represents the capitalist party of the foundation, and makes her job well on this definite point.

It's nice to see Calypso is getting the respect that she deserves. It's been along time coming. These video records of the restoration will add to the historical significance of this little ship. Long Live Calypso, and all who sail on her!

awesome video.I have photos of Calypso that I took in1980/81 when she came to Lake Ontario. I think I will make a video of them !

Les films de Jacques Cousteau ont inspirée, depuis il y a des décennies, ceux qui luttent pour la Conservation de la Nature.

Que l'humanité se rend compte, avant qu'il soit trop tard, que ceci est le seule monde qu'on a, et qu'il faut le protéger, pour le futur.

Fantastic to see her progressing. I got the sub titles to work fine.

They put a LOT of work into that. It might have been easier and cheaper to build one just like it from scratch.
