  • this is not a tutorial!!!

    find a real job!

  • you suck

  • you are handsome :D

  • Pretty cool video admosquad. Thanks for the upload

  • FART IN THE BEGGINING

  • I do not understand how you not sound (latency)delay between the keyboard and the computer? please answer. thank

  • @dikana88

You need to use an ASIO driver (google ASIO4All)

  • @dikana88 : You have to go into the Audio setting and adjust your sound card to read higher...send faster....

  • @Ixxalux I have ASIO drivers, but when I'm playing fast again have latency?

  • that was gay as shit

  • I thought this was a tutorial....as if I want to watch you jam out

  • If you should cut anything it would be the fucking beats. that's the worst wounding shit I've ever heard...not yours personally, just everyone's impression in general that beats are interesting. They aren't.

  • You seem like a nice guy, but this fucking beat house techno crap is SOOO overdone....I mean every fucking person and their little pieces of shit after a big dry hunka cheese is making something with beats that are too overpronounced. I mean you don't need a tool like ableton to make that. In fact, it's like battle of the chefs making roasted marshmallows.

  • @MrDarcyzPP

every type of music is "sooo overdone." and it don't make you next level just cuz you're sick of something.

show me the most beautiful girl in the world, i'll show you a guy who's over it.

when you ain't feeling it anymore, time to go find a different hobby for awhile.

or are you on some minimalist dub step shit?

    boring too.

  • Good song for a 64-Bit video game huh!?

  • hey great , the keyboard connect with usb ? if I have a audio interface , where should my speaker line for ?? thankyou a lot !!

  • can i hear my ableton back through my keyboard that has speakers,,thought simple question but ableton only answer dumb ass obvious questions

  • great vid man :)

  • thats awesome, props! you should put up a video showing how to program your midi controller like that! itd be much appreciated :)

  • holaaa!

    necesito ayuda!

  • Thanks for sharing! I haven't tried simultaneous writing and performing... it got me pumped up!

  • Comment removed

  • отета ВАСЯ

  • no. it's not as good as ableton at all

  • I have my option... Each with its!

  • what about fruity loops? can u do fl tutorial?

  • 0:00

  • hmm i want to start with ableton live for a time now, but i really need a good (extreme) beginner tutorial. But all i found isn't what gives me the impression i needed to see thats its flexible enough. This simple movie actually kind-of convinced me to leave reason. What do you think about the diffrence between reason and ableton live? PM or respond here if you can please!

4 starred because you made a mistake: D

  • you should use ableton as your main DAW and still use reason as a plug in. there is no need to totally ditch reason if you have taken the time to figure it out.

  • Thanks man, very useful vid

  • Great short 4 ideas on Home VST use & technique. I have questions on your HW used to loop/record/mix the sounds & I've got 2 C more of your videos but- another time gotta go now. Great Stuff! I'll be back! :-)

  • can one play chords with a midi keyboards or only single notes?

  • yes you can play chords

  • You can play anything you want with a MIDI keyboard... as long as you have a computer and a MIDI Sequencer like Ableton, Pro Tools, Reason, Cubase and such.

  • Sweet, cheers mate.

  • I think we all have a problem setting up the trigger finger. All youtube has is ppl playin the damn thing but no tutorials on how to load it. Please make a small vid on how to load it. TY

  • @djomarsuperstar AMEN!!! i can't get this thing to work properly!!!!

  • @djomarsuperstar You basically use Midi Cables from the instrument. You buy a mixer or an Audio Interface for the connection from a Midi cable to a USB cable, which then connects to your computer. Then from the computer, you would go to sound options and select the instruments.

  • @hpbryan Thanks. Ill try it.

  • nice tune mate!

  • Hey Mate, Im pretty new to all this midi jazz.

I seem to be having some trouble with the cofig. of my TriggerFinger and Im still geting my head around AB.

If you could find some time to help a brother out get back to me and I'll let ya know where im at with it all.

The main problem is I dont know how to set up my TF to work in Live.... or Reason.

Any help would be greatly welcome!

If you have the time I can give you my skype.

    Thanks mate.

  • i got my TF set up but i forgot how haha and i dont know how to use it -_- wer in the same boat bro...

  • FAAAAART...hey

  • hey man, um having some trouble configuring my keyboard to my ableton live 6. could yu possibly tell me how to do this.

  • hey, i can see you have no problems with latency... did you have to tweak anything to get it that way?

  • Nice work brother! Keep it up.

  • how did u assign the beats to the midi contorller i got the program with my m aduio axiom 25 and i have no clue how to set it up

  • Great stuff!!!

  • tutorial?

  • great video man.thanks

  • Great tutorial!

Check my new track! "Get get down" :p

I did it with Ableton live and some VSTI

  • Is there any way to draw out a sequence, like in Fl studio with piano roll?

  • yes there is

  • Could ya please tell me how to get there / point me to a vid that shows it?

    thanks man

  • to draw out a sequence you select the pencil tool by the transport. then you click on one of smaller rectangles under the track name. so if you have a impulse insturment track. u click on one of the squares to make a new scene and you can draw in notes for that scene

  • Thanks man, i'll try that out.

  • good work. but def not a tutorial.

  • Tutorial??? ....

  • This is not a tutorial, it's a demonstration.

  • thats a brilliant sound, you wanna put an advert in your local paper..keyboard player available to form band

  • am i the only one who says fuggin 'ah ble ton'

  • yes.

    :D

  • Not anymore, my friend. Now I do that too.

  • FUG ya. it sounds better

  • Does this mean the computer software is making the different instruments? I mean, is he even using the built in instruments of the keyboard? With my cheap keyboard, it can't be hooked up to a computer, and you press the numbers to change instruments. If it's all done by software, then do I need those built in effects? Am all I'm looking for is midi capable or something?

  • Yea all on the computer. Keyboards with midi out and usb work.

  • Is it possible to send midi out from Live to an external midi device?

  • how to learn to be like electronic music player.....hardware knowledge, sound theory and MIDI?

  • dude you didnt tell anything about how you set it up...

im having a great time fooling around with my ibk 10control but still wonder how proper midi setup is achieved.

    help would be appreciated

  • i got a keyboard and i cant figure out for the life of me how to get it to just play... hahah

  • turn it up dude!

  • Turn that ish up man!

  • would you recommend this compared to logic's mainstage? is it hard to get usd to using the interface?

  • sboret

  • my korg triton controller stopped workin with the program???? it was workin for a month then stopped

  • GREAT WORK BRO

  • Love the live updating of a recorded loop, ta very much for showing me how useful the program and an external midi device (or two) can be!

  • i loved your little jazzy syth your GOOOOD NICE WORK STILLl

  • Great man you are a talented artist will be checking up

  • how do you link your akai instruments with ableton??? pleas help?

  • ..right.. MIDI is on it's way out, huh?! LOL

  • Shut your dirty mouth!

  • You shut the fuck up BITCH ASS PUNK!!!

  • Go home to your samples - that is 'bits of music written by other people'. Great comeback though!

  • You are indeed an fuckin' retard!!!

  • Yawn.

  • Fuckin' ignorant RETARD!!!!

  • You're right I have a mental disability. Well spotted, you win!

  • thanx i didnt know what samples are (if you couldnt tell i was being sarcastic

    your an idiot

  • I wasn't telling you what samples were. I replied to 777jeru. Anyway, you've totally missed the point. I was stating that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense putting down midi music making in favour of producing music using samples (as he claims to do on his channel). I was explaining what samples were in an attempt to make this point without having to literally spell it out like I'm having to do with you.

  • is there a way to save midi maps? IE so you dont have to reassign controllers every time you start a new project.. thanks!

  • hey man how do u convert ableton live tracks dat u created into mp3

  • hi tactical16. to convert, go into the arrange window and (assuming you have arranged your piece in this window) select all from beginning to end.

in the file menu there select "export audio/video". this will render your track to wav or aiff (as you choose)... following which, you can convert to mp3 on itunes (?) or download a conversion program. i found one called Switch which seems to do the trick.

As far as i know you can't convert to mp3 within ableton. hope this helps

  • hey thax man dis really helped me ive done it

  • awesome. glad to help, have fun!!!

    :)

  • Im new to ableton how do i assign keys to diffrent synth sounds and oneshot samples

    please help

  • Very simple video, humble and informative, thanks!

  • i just got the trigger finger i need to learn how to put sounds into it please help.

  • hey great video man, i got a few questions, im getting a trigger finger soon i cant wait im a guitarist and i wanna do some simple beats thats what im gonna use the tf for and some synth.

    1. Did you make that beat with ur trigger finger

2.I have abletone live 7 and i realy have trouble finding out how to loop tracks like ur doing here

    thx!

  • If yo´re having a trigger finger you can do a lot more complex stuff than this!In Live 7 simply open the drum rack instrument in a midi track and hit cmd/ctrl M and map you´re way trough man!About the loops,by standart ableton opens up clips in loop mode just hit the play button and if they dont do loops hit the loop bar on the left of the sample controls

  • is your synth hook only to ableton or via a virtual instrument also

or all the sounds are from ableton ?

  • ableton hosts virtual instruments, so they sounds are vst played within the project enviroment. most of the effects are ableton defaults.

  • thanx alot

  • amazing stuff man! I'll try to config better my Axiom25 with these ideas, thanks for sharing

  • how do u put different sounds on each pad of the midi?

    tks

  • very good m8. Thanks:]

  • zzzzzzzzzzzz

  • nice

  • That's awesome.

I have the same keyboard lol.

I have a question. I have a problem with midi latency and I don't know what to do to fix it.

I have the same laptop as you and keyboard.

You don't seem to have latency issues at all.

Do you have your stuff hooked up strait to the computer? Or is there something extra I'm missing?

  • you need either a semi-proffesional soundcard with ASIO abilities, or even better an external audio interface which will give you more possibilites, or install ASIO4ALL

  • Yeah, I just learned the ins and outs about ASIO. I have Focusrite Saffire box and wasn't using it at the moment and was wondering how he got his latency so low if he was just hooking up to strait to the onboard device. ASIO4ALL. Amazing thing it is.

  • cool

  • lol!

  • I wasn't being serious by the way

  • most ableton tutorials i've seen build a single section by layering parts. how would i build a 'B' section to a song without stopping the recording session? a demo would be great.

  • i will try to work on something for you in the next few days. there are different approaches, but we'll see what I work out.

  • how do i assign sounds to ma trigger finger i need help

  • everyone that uses trigger finger can u help me how to assign samples on please prv msg me

  • Like somesone said earlier, I recently got Ableton with my keyrig 49 and lexicon alpha interface thing cos I really want to get into recording but did not know what it all meant. So thank you very much for this vid, a great help.

  • thanks for posting this. i've been trying to find out exactly what ableton does, and this video was helpful!

  • I just got the M-audio KeyRig 25. I have vista and my keyrig software is not compatible with vista. Do i need the keyrig software? or can i just configure abletons midi sounds to my keys, knobs, and buttons without it? I also have a Korg N1 synth, it also as a midi out. Could i use that? Im mainly interested in using it for drums. I rarely make beats and use ableton for recording my jam sessions or accoustic stuff. If you could help me out that would be great.

  • You need to download the Vista driver from M-Audio. I have Vista and the M-Audio Keystation 49e and it works perfectly with native-instruments and Cubase. You can download demos for free from native-instruments dot com and first see if it works with your gear BEFORE buying. They have some baaaaaaad synths and it's real ez to assign to M-Audio by right clicking the mouse and then learn and turning the knob on your KeyRig

  • cool...not much of a tutorial at all though.

  • I guess not, but ableton is so flexible that sometimes general ideas are more helpful than step by step instructions. Plus I don't have good screen capping capabilities, so that stifles the walk-through.

  • hey ive been writin lyrics for awhile now..ive been wanting to get into beats what progams and shiit should i use..it would help as grip thanks..

  • To usk951:

I would recommend getting a copy of Ableton Live, along with a copy of Reason(gives you instruments to use in Live).

You should also get atleast a keyboard midi controller. I just use a 'creative prodikeys' which is a typing/music hybrid. It cost me $50. I would also recommend learning the basics of playing keyboard (chords etc.) because it will help you immensly in making good beats.

Lastly I recommend getting a pad midi controller as it is much easier for laying drum tracks.

  • Awesome... Thanks for the info man.

    Greetings!

  • nice vid !

  • Really Nice!

  • Hey m8, may not be applicable, but i have a midi keyboard the m audio oxygen 49, and it for some reason has decided to stop working, ive been through the preferences but no joy, and im strugglin assignin stuff to the keyboard, cud u do a vid

    check myspace dot com /mrrivazmusic

  • i just downloaded ableton and i got the m-audio keystudio im about to make sum sick beatz

  • dta beat was HOT!!!!

  • pija

  • nice

  • Nice tutorial man, but can u please do a turotial for bigginers and show how to setup and assign buttons to trigger finger. strat - finish thanks

  • hey man i just bought the axiom 25 and i just wanted to know how to record a sound on live and make it continuously play. i want to be able to record everything at once instead of having to do it peice by peice. would you know hoe to record straight on to the device and then later put it on live

  • thanks amosquad!

  • thanks for this mate.. With midi controller can you record good vocals?

  • the quality of sound really depends on your mic and sound card (24 bit etc) the midi controller would just be used to start and stop recording and edit effects.

  • i think you're so HOT..!!

  • Fuck off you spammer fuck.

  • lol like erhhhh regular MIDI u taking the piss eh got to be rofl

  • wal sie pajacu

  • what is better ableton live or reason 3.0?????????

  • well there is a huge difference ableton live does midi and audio... reason 3.0 is like software midi it doesnt do hardware or audio.... if you want to learn more about music production and recording there are a few good sites out there like tweakheadz that will teach you everything you need to know

  • Ableton.

  • Hey mate, got a question for you. I've got similar keyboard to yours (I've got YAMAHA PSR 620)and i can't link it up with ableton live 6 through midi interface cable, does that mean I do need some sort of MIDI controller (or I can purchase midi keyboard controller I guess too?) to get all of this working together just like you did? Would appreciate if you could give me some info on this, I've just purchased Live recently and having trouble setting it up - tx!

  • i HATE that saying "on the fly" but i love the video, pump out some more of those guy

  • I know. It sounds like some hip-hop saying. I'm On Da Fly mutafukas!!!

  • hahaha yeah like that. they all say it in most official ableton videos.

  • Yeah I know. Hehehe.

  • hey is your keyboard just a regular synthesizer or is it a workstation?? Also how much did you get it for?

  • i tried installing Live 6 and it does it fine, but when i run Live, it loads and on the bottom where you can see what its' doing it reads "Scanning VSTs" and then it says can't find some folder (that doesn't even exist) what should i do?

  • hey you are mcgiver lol !!!!!!!!

  • thankx for this man this gave me some good info on ableton live becuase im buying it soon

  • thanx for the tut but to be honest u seriously gtta wokr on it, and dude teh way you set everything up why did you make it so orkward

  • Yeah what piano is that? I could really use that sound

  • Excellent tutorial.

  • hmmm, interesting to watch, but it would have been more helpful if you had shown specifically how you assign the midi controls, not just simply you using them.

  • That's the easiest part - just click midi in the top right, then select the thing you want to control, then hit/turn/slide the midi control you want to assign to it, then click midi to turn off the 'learn' mode .... there's a bit more to it (like making sure your track is armed or being monitored, and making sure ableton has your midi controller enabled in the prefs

  • hum.....looks like you got all the material to make cool stuff and you're just using it to make crappy music...

but you know how to do it so that's a good thing :)

better start making some breakcore :)

    nice....but crappy music

  • better crappy music then no music at all (you)

  • you need practice at the keyboard mate, very dodgy!

  • very cool man. i would like to know how excatly you go about assigning things to triggers in live. thanks

  • yeh more of an example of midi control then a how to

  • What are you using for your piano sound?

  • Fucking badass man!

  • Thank you dude. That was nice.

  • Whats the name of that tune?
