If you really want to hear what this synth is all about then check out Simon Stockhausen's patchs for it.There are very few synths that can do anything even remotely like this one.Prism and M-theory being the closest I can think of,and Prism is Reaktor only, with M-theory being a Cpu Hog.The only other way you can get these acoustic/synthetic sounds is with large Kontakt Libraries, and while these are cool, getting this large a pallete of exotic sounds that way is expensive trust me.
It seems that a lot of people still don't get phys mod synthesis.I'm a fan of all kinds of synthesis methods and synths like FM8,Albino,Absynth,and Imposcar are all used regularly. However mixing obviously synthetic sounds with acoustic instruments, sometimes doesn't work that well.Phys mod is often the glue that binds acoustic and synthetic for me.Although,I don't think this synth is served well in this demo,by the lame sequences. It also works better when played lived, like "real" instruments.
I am surprised at AAS, there are a slew of soft synths on the market that sound about 30 years newer than this or I should say MODERN. It could just be the demo, but the sounds are so wimpy, sorry AudMid.
IMHO, save up a couple of hundred bucks more, and buy Spectrasonics Omnisphere from Audiomidi, instead, you won't have to buy another for quite some time. Now that is a synth that is worth bragging about!
@hollandmehr You don't see the value in a powerful softsynth that can create ultra-realistic sounds based on effectively "modelling" any possible material and manipulation of that material?
Sure, this may not be the synth for you, but I completely disagree about the synth not sounding modern. I consider this synth super-advanced and I haven't been this tempted to buy a softsynth in ages (I typically only use hardware synths). Sounds very "organic" and ULTRA diverse. My kinda synth!!
