Something about it just sounds...I dunno, not serious. He is a talented vocalist true. Just when John Bush came in and they released 'Only' it was that serious metal edge I always wanted to hear from Anthrax. Every song after that was killer with Bush and prefer over any pre-Bush Anthrax song. Again - not a valid point, only opinion

Even won for Best Metal Album in the Guitar World Readers Poll, but I just couldn't listen to John Bush singing the re-recording of Indians and Joey-era Anthrax. Joey's voice might not be the most metal sounding but fits for Anthrax...IMO. Can't wait to hear the rest of this album.

For my money it's Bush, his tone matched up the best to Ian's playing. But I'm into super aggressive Metal as well, so Dan Nelson is a close second for me.

@ChadyDrummer , in the band Anthrax, maybe not, but as an overall vocalist yes, Bush is better. Listen to the entire back catalog of Armored Saint and his Anthrax material. Bush has more honed and well controlled voice, and a better register. Human Vulture on Armored Saint's Raising Fear album as agood example. Also Metallica wanted him as their lead vocalist before Hetfield stepped up, fact. This just shows his amazing prowess. And I do like Joey a lot, Bush is just overall better as a singer.
@ChadyDrummer I agree! I think that they both brought awesome things to the table as Anthrax singers, I would say that overall, John was the more diverse singer tho! He gave the band a hardcore edge (especially on "What Doesn't Die" and the whole album "Greater Of Two Evils" that Joey doesn't have! Good seeing the classic vocalist doing what he does best tho, and HOWABOUT CHARLIE ON DRUMS!!! More solid than ever!
@ChadyDrummer well guess I have some brain cells missing, look I like Joey and all and I think Among is one of the best albums of Anthrax's career but I just loved the new attitude they had when John came along. They just seemed more serious with their shit. It just seemd like they got a real good kick in the ass when John came in and you can't tell me that John didn't make some heavy moshing songs with them. I'm looking forward to the new album just crossing fingers and hope it was worth wait

I was pissed when they let go of John Bush, but I have to admit that Joey's voice was what first made me an Anthrax fan, and he sounds fucking killer here.

Music sounds great, the slow part seems enh, but good overall. I saw where scott said Joey said he sounds like he did in the 80's, hmm not true. He sounds good, but has lost range as most people that age do. Still anxious to hear it though.

@ChadyDrummer , in the band Anthrax, maybe not, but as an overall vocalist yes, Bush is better. Listen to the entire back catalog of Armored Saint and his Anthrax material. Bush has more honed and well controlled voice, and a better register. Human Vulture on Armored Saint's Raising Fear album as agood example. Also Metallica wanted him as their lead vocalist before Hetfield stepped up, fact. This just shows his amazing prowess. And I do like Joey a lot, Bush is just overall better as a singer.

@ChadyDrummer I agree! I think that they both brought awesome things to the table as Anthrax singers, I would say that overall, John was the more diverse singer tho! He gave the band a hardcore edge (especially on "What Doesn't Die" and the whole album "Greater Of Two Evils" that Joey doesn't have! Good seeing the classic vocalist doing what he does best tho, and HOWABOUT CHARLIE ON DRUMS!!! More solid than ever!

@ChadyDrummer well guess I have some brain cells missing, look I like Joey and all and I think Among is one of the best albums of Anthrax's career but I just loved the new attitude they had when John came along. They just seemed more serious with their shit. It just seemd like they got a real good kick in the ass when John came in and you can't tell me that John didn't make some heavy moshing songs with them. I'm looking forward to the new album just crossing fingers and hope it was worth wait

I'm a punk girl first and foremost and will admit as much, but I have a soft spot in my heart for thrash metal.

@TiffanyMarie105 Yea the stuff with John was more of a power groove than thrash which I like. but I do love old school thrash also. I saw OVERKILL in April and they kicked my ass, still recovering from that one :-)
