I have a question for the rider, as i want to become as good as him in riding, how does he stay so well balanced on the horse? do u hold with your thighs? or just completely relaxed to every moment? not sure how to be able to stay on as my horse spooked last week and i fell forward and couldnt get back up and fell off very badly. any suggestions. thanks:-)
What are you required to do or demonstrate in working cow horse competitions? Do you have to make the cow move in certain patterns?
Also, is the fact that you're actually working with a cow in working cow horse competition the thing that differentiates it from a reining competition? (Some of the "working cow horse" videos on here do not involve a cow and look like a reining competition to me. Is there a difference?)

thirst you have to ride a reining pattern and then you have to move the cow.
the horse should appear to control every movement of the steer.
The steer should not escape to any other part of the arena. and yes you have to move the cow in a certain pattern.
boxing the cow
fencing the cow
and circling up the cow
it's very cool!!
