@ziggyatl Both sound good but Akrapovic has a higher pitch while the Remus has a lower one. You can youtube the videos on them here. 6spd DSG and 2.0TFSI is a match made in Heaven. The turbo just keeps spooling with no power drop.

i live in Israel and i got a 1.8 skoda octavia with the DSG also. after 37.000 km i had a problem with the DSG.. did you have any problems yet?

@galferr So far so good. I know that the dsg in the R is capable of handling powers up to 340bhp. What kind of problems are you having with your dsg so i can keep an eye out. Thanks.

@ziggyatl the problems i had with the dsg are : after i put the car in parking it suddenly stuck in that gear and i couldnt put it in D or change it to something else.. also i felt white driving the car a little bounce between the first, second and third gears.. btw i think that ill buy the R after your video :P

Pretty much the same exhaust sound as the GTI

@mendez83293 Probably cause its the same engine. But I think the R has a bit more bass sound coming out of it and it sure is louder than the gti, perhaps not by a whole lot. My iPhone couldn't capture all of the sound and it does not do it justice.

@ziggyatl Not exactly the same engine: the R uses the older EA113 FSI engine found in the mk5 GTI while the mk6 GTI uses the newer Audi developed EA888 TSI engine.

I just wish the Golf R had 17 or 16 inch wheels as an option. 18 inch wheels are more expensive, heavy and the tire selection is smaller/ more expensive. Shorter sidewalls also aren't ideal for cornering, especially for mounting r-compound tires. 16's or 17's would mean less unsprung weight, so better cornering, acceleration, deceleration and fuel economy.

@MrMatssundin1372 I think it is, I guess that's why i bought it. You will definitely feel the difference when you test drive the car. It's kinda like the Mustang GT compared to the Mustang Shelby, they both are fast but the Shelby has that edge.

@breeolsen The car is for AED 160k but it cost me AED 155k with a lot of extras like 5 years unlimited mileage warranty, free service for 3 years, AED 1000 in free gas, free insurance for the first year, and free registration as well. It was a Ramadan special from VW and it was a perfect time to buy.

The car is surprisingly quiet considering that this is pretty much a sports car. Comparable to most entry level luxury cars.

R32 is the older model with the 3200cc engine. The new model is called the R it's with a 2000cc turbo charged engine and they decided to drop the number although people still refer it to as R20.
