@5sikh As of now...it's impossible. They are tracking what phone your using by the imei number. It's illegal to change it. You could only change it on the original iphone. As of now, you have to have the data plan for it. :/

They will automatically add a data plan to it whenever their systems shows that you have a iphone. Maybe you could use t-mobile to get around this, but as of (april or june? forget exact time) they set it up to where data plans are required for all smartphones. Unless the old sbs settings trick works to block all data to get around it, then you have to have one.

You could use it without a sim installed and call people through voip or whatever, but ever since they changed their whole system data plan crap, you can't just block it like you used too. I had mine all blocked and yes, you can use sbssettings to block calls, ect but once you use it to make a call, or a text your phone will send it's imei number to att and it'll auto add a data plan.
