  • Jeremy is a bit of an idiot who comes off with slightly racist stuff sometimes because it gets him attention. He know Korean cars are getting better and better though. My 2011 Kia Sportage has the build quality of a VW, or even better.

  • "Ha-yeon-dae"

And he gave shit to some hick car dealer from Texas for mispronouncing lol It's 현대 Mr.Clarkson...현대 >_<;; I expected more in his prep for this episode hehe

  • ignorant, white a typical arrogance. I'd rather eat dog than what British considers food. This is 1999. Hyundai is a far far better car today rivaling VW and Toyota. If anything this is a good demonstration of how good Hyundai is. It kept going despite taking a licking. I mean when was the last time Brits came up with something that works?

  • you should destroy British car that is amazing, popularity is also very well.

  • 21 people eat dogs :P

  • my best friend get an accent like this from his grandfather!the old man get that car new!he never get that car to a mechanic because he thought you go to a mechanic when the car have a damage!my friend take this car from him when he couldnt drive anymore!an oil change and the accent was like a brand new.he now tries every day thinks you can even thing about to do with a front wheel car!and that accent just doesnt wants to die!RESPECT to the koreans!

  • 21 koreans viewed this video in 2012

  • O kużwa, ale załatwili nasze Poldki :)

  • 3:31 Tiff gave Clarkson the well known finger haha.

  • So many memories!

  • Japanese have been in the car industry for over 100 years as opposed to koreans which have only been in for just over 30 years so obviously they won't bes as good

  • I find it funny how the place where Jeremy had the car crushed contained a lot of Austin Metros lol

  • And not a single fuck was given that day.

  • 17 years still runing like new, maintenance free.

  • AND NOTHING OF VALUE WAS LOST

  • Its all about marketing

  • England, a land of animal lovers.

  • @Muldoonz More like, a land of 'meh, who gives a crap?'

  • well so what if they eat dogs, americans eat ton's of cows and I don't see any Indie complaining about it, even though it's their sacred animal.. so why should a single person get all fussy about an animal considered only as pet to be eaten in a different country?? I love dogs but what do I care if it's like beef or pork somewhere else??

  • @USAon3 nope sorry mate it's -hy-un-dye-

  • 1. it's pronounced "hun-day" not "hiyun-di"

    2. you were going around that track backward, just like you do everything else.

    3. you fog-breathing crumpet-suckers never built a car even half that good for that price.

  • @USAon3 But we don't care when we are insulted, we just don't care

  • And one more ridiculous things from J.Clarkson is he try to make a judgement about the pronunciation of Hyundai whether who was wrong & who was right to pronounce it. But when Korean see him, they laugh. why? Coz J.Clarkson mispronunces it as well. It's not from English basically. It's one of pronouns in grammar. Hyundai should be pronounced : [çəːndɛ, çʌndɛ]) They've not even investigated it but try to evaluate someone's mispronunciation on the broadcast. I think somewhat arrogant of him.

  • What J.Clarkson doesn't know & make Koreans nervous (but actually they don't care & not interested in) is he think Koreans eat dogs only. Actually Chinese have many dishes & they eat dogs more than Koreans. I have many Chinese friend & half of them said I like eating dogs, and said I don't understand why they only disparage Koreans only. 1 out of 20 old Koreans eat dogs actually. Even Koreans don't understand each others who eat dogs. It means it's not the matter of country, but of private some.

  • whats wrong with eating dogs? just not mine. or you will go in the crusher

  • @nickmorganmusic, The problem with eating dogs is that it's disgusting and dogs are cute.

  • F you Jeremy. Always ignoring about Korean cars and ASian will put middle fingers on you. What an arse hole?

  • I take great joy in watching this cause it's a hyundai lol

  • He has every reason to hate them . I had a 1989 hyundai and it was god awful had blow-by at only 200 thousand the gear stick fell out whilst driving to work. The steering would wonder and it was shit on fuel consumption .Hyundai getz are a shit car to . My Friends girlfriend has one and nothing but trouble .Dont be fooled by the owners of these shit cars either there not telling the whole truth

  • it true korea eat dogs

  • @Deathwishesh its correct to say some Koreans eat dogs not all. and if i say bit more, there are people who eat dogs in china, vietnam, and every other countries in asia

  • @Deathwishesh Well at least korean bbq is good. You can't have a dark side without a bright side to compare it to.

  • This was TOO hateful.

It can be a bad car, whatever, but to me, that was is like slowly killing an innocent little child mercilessly. And I sincerely didn't precisely understand why he doesn't like it. Didn't make me laugh.

Oh, and I never had a korean car, and I'm not korean.

  • before he is racist and now he is racist and ignorant .

  • Jeremy clarkson is a fucking racist!!

  • Korean and Malaysian made cars are bad forever....... and Korean car companies fed up fixing qualities and go make'em good-looking cars but........ the quality still suck! Worse in world and Malaysia is just 0.000000000000000000000001 point leading them only

  • @insidemanXD rong kia and hyundai stepped up their game massively. they are more reliable now than germans and better built than some german and english cars too

  • @galbmw Your right about kia, a recent survey based on insurance and warranty claims throught the US an UK put them as the 5th most reliable car company, but hyundai are still bottom dwellers and only an idiot dazzeled by the price tag gets one.

  • @Snikitysnake the new elantra and genesis prooved to be well built and good cars.

  • The newer Accent, (2009-2010) really aren't that bad. They're comfy, quite fast hand even have a square cub holder for those chocolate milk cartens :)

There was really only one problem... I couldn't really fit in the back seat... I was too tall -_-

  • 10 People think Spaniel is tasty!

  • you forgot to put jeremy in the hyundai just before the car was crushed

  • bullshit they eat dogs in england to

  • Hyundais are quite shitty,if u want to die in crash buy one,ur family is gonna need the money u saved purchasin dis shit to make a decent funeral

  • it looks I bought few months ago AK-47 on 4 wheels :D

  • hahaha at 6:00 i thought he was skateboarding

  • This shows how ironic it is portraying the Hyundai accent as less reliable. He needs a giant monster to mangle it. It is clear how the accent outdo other cars. But J. Clarkson is so regretful.

  • Acura and Honda have the most reliable cars. My turbo RSX was rated one of the most reliable sporty coupes

  • thought they would have disabled the airbags

  • Those 90´s Hyundai, cheap an barely realiable cars, nothing more, nor espectacular, or nice, or comfortable, just a car who can take you from A to B, it ain´t a car for petrohead fans.

  • another brit frustrated over asian supremacy lol

  • TADA!

    xD

  • fact is, three-four decades ago or so, nobody liked japanese cars. do I need to say more? and yes, clarkson's idea was stupid. destroying a perfectly working device (in this case, a car) is nothing but stupid, polluting and quite immoral

  • The original imports weren't all that great, though. The Subaru 360 had a tendency to spin out and the original Honduhs were powered by motorcycle engines. That said, the Japanese quickly learned what Americans wanted and adapted their vehicles to meet those demands. The Japanese aren't great innovators, but they're master imitators.

  • @wcvbw That's actually not a fact because many people switched to Japanese cars because gasoline was so expensive due to the 1973 oil embargo, imposed by OPEC for the US resupplying Israel during the Yom Kippur War. While most Americans still wanted large, heavy cars, a few started to buy Japanese cars simply because they were more efficient; their cars were basically ready-made for the American market post-1973.

  • i've got one since 4 years, never got a single problem. 20 km with one litre of petrol(and she drove for 230.000 odd km). whent from lake garda to Belfast via Berlin and Rotterdam and back. and i've driven several trips Berlin Lake garda, Berlin Rotterdam and she never gave me any pain. when is minus 20 she goes on at the first call, parts are really cheap, plus she is dead ugly and nobody will never rob it. what's not to like?i love it

  • @scetdellak those cars are like AK-s. Doesn't matter how old is it, doesn't matter how many miles it have. It will run forever. I have same accent, cheap meantenance, chap parts. Can't say it's comfortable like BMW but witl way less money you get great car. Father have accent 2001 for 5 years and it runs great, no problems at all.

Hyundai is underrated just because those cars comes from Corea... japan, german and american technology in same car.

  • @scetdellak you ever heard the expression, if you throw a handful of gravel at a basketball hoop, you'll get at least one bit through. Looks like you got the one that went through. Well done.

  • @scetdellak, My cousin hired one 4 two days and b4 he did 35 miles (the car was barely over 1 year old)... the battery started doing shorts on the bonnet, and and a friend and I tried to fix it 4 hours and hours, and after a night of work (we didn't touch any part if not the rear suspension, propshaft and shock absorbers), two of the cylinders blew off, one smashed a hole in the gearbox and the other wrecked the electrical sistem. I later kept it 4 experiments and crash-tests.

  • hell yeah its a briliant car reliable and cheap very fine for first car a car for going to work or anything else!!!! too bad they hate it because koreans eat dogs(they actualy do that by the way) :-(

  • @perouvianos Before blaming Koreans eating dogs, survey other countries like China, Vietnam & others where dogs r considered as dishes. Many Koreans don't understand others eating dogs too, and under 10% of Koreans especially elderly people who had to overcome their starving days after the world war try it privately. That means they think it's a matter of private some. And Chinese eat dogs 10 times more but EU countries try to blame Koreans' eating dogs only. Why only Korean should be targeted.

  • My cousin wanted to buy one of those and he rented one for 2 days. He asked the renting company if they wanted it back but it was full of faults and he gave it to me, I took it to a friend's house to restore it but when he was working in the spark plugs the gearbox blew up. That is how unreliable it was.

  • I had a PONY CX, it was actually the most reliable car I ever owned and cheap to run, the rear wheel drive was fun on dirt roads, hyundai should make a rear drive hatch again.

  • Hyundai make great cars. All that punishment and it was STILL DRIVING !!!

  • my grandad swaped his bmw e30 for one of those. i've never driven such a shit piece and wish i could do the same thing! haha

  • Korean cars have improved nowadays. Hyundais are still not very desirable but the new Kias are beautiful

  • @ash318i - Kia use Hyundai parts. I'd much rather have a Hyundai than KIA though

  • Guy beneath me is mad coz he thinks ladas are awesome because it's all they have on his pig shit mining village

  • For some really really weird reason, I found the sound of the engine being removed extremely sickening.

  • how can he say there bad cars after all that beating and it still goes, most econo cars would be done after a few hits.

  • 0:36 lol the music

  • wow Tiff look sooooooo young :O

  • hai un dai??? haeundae is beautiful beach in south korea

  • Fuck Jeremy

in soviet Russia Lada 2105 destroy Jeromy Clarkson

  • @TheVaz2108 Before you start complaining... get your spelling right.

  • @ColdplayBest1 whats wrong with the spelling because i said typed his name wrong? that's because his name is stupid and stop complaining for that nerdy bdw English is not my language because i have my own country language not like yours which uses other country's language

  • @TheVaz2108 Ok, what country do you think i'm from then?

  • my mum loved her hyundai accent XD

  • I fuckin' hate it when they destroy perfectly good cars for no reason.

  • The first and only hyundai i like is the Hyundai Genesis.

  • Does anyone know who "Tiff" is? Thanks.

  • @avlisk Tiff needell

  • @EnergyDog23 Thanks. It sounded like a made-up name, and Clarkson tends to the absurd. But I've watched some more YouTube videos and see he's a real person. I'm just learning about TopGear and British TV shows, thanks to YouTube and Netflix, so I'm getting an education. I wish we could have some of these cars over here in the USA.

  • @avlisk he is currently fifth gears[motoring show] anchor and used to be co-anchor of old top gear

  • a show charged with self-righteousnesses.

  • I used to think the hyundai excel was a shiter until 2 years ago i bought a 1997 x3 for $400 as a run about its the most reliable little car i have had apart from my little gemini i had falcons and commodores and sadly i have to say the excel runs rings around them for reliabilty

  • Hyundai's are reliable but why on earth why you want to own one? There one of the most boring, dull, styleless brands on the planet. I honestly can't drive them, I get frustrated at how tediously bland they are

  • @dustziggy

When was the last time you looked out of your cave? While you were living your boring life painting oxes with blood on a stone walls we were driving a much more European styled Hyundai's. i20, i30, brand new ix30, i40 and i45. Especially saloon versions of cars (i40 and i45) are one of the most beautiful designs i've ever seen.

And as Jeremy showed in this video, you can treat Hyundai like garbage and it will still continue to go. Even in the end where it was flattened...

  • @rejzor Last time I looked out of my cave I saw my beautiful MX5 sitting outside ;D

  • @dustziggy are you serious dude?.... The new genesis, the equss the new veloster the new sonata...the new elantra...etc... Are you talking about euro market? because every hyundai i seen come out is not boring at all...especially the 2012 genesis R with a 440 hp Gas direct injected V8...

  • @disracenboi336 You know what, I can admit when I'm wrong. I've just come back from the Shenzhen (China) motor show and saw a Hyundai Genesis coupe, fantastic looking car, a little shit for quality inside but gorgeous looking bodywork and RWD...nice. Azera's not bad also. As for the other models on show, there still so boring they make my butt hurt just sitting in them but that's not the point, Hyundai actually has a couple of cars id seriously consider...for a few minutes anyway

  • this is his best review ever

  • 죽을 수 있는 영국

  • well... being of korean ethnicity... i haven't eaten a dog before. in fact, i own one, right now, and we're tight. Like *crosses fingers* this

I really have no idea where people are getting the stereotype of Chinese/Koreans eating dogs.

one thing's for certain though: Things change. Ignorance won't

And, btw, look whose economy is growing 6.1%. Look who just introduced a Korean-designed luxury car, sports car, and top-rated family sedan into the market?

Take a second or two to look

  • @Aussieisbest94 You make me laugh with your incorrect views. I don't know whether it is because Hyundai is Korean or Hyundais are terrible in your country. And comparing Lexus to Hyundai is like comparing a Ferrari/Lambo to Merc/Audi/BMW. And that comment about Hyundai moving a few feet until break-down goes out the window as you haven't drive one :)

  • @Aussieisbest94 LOL "I don't need to". You can't comment on a product you don't want to try or haven't even tried. You are still stuck in the 80s and early 90s with your views. The Tiburon looks way better than a Nissan 370Z and it's not a budget 370Z, It's just better value for money than a 370Z.

  • @Aussieisbest94 Someone clearly hasn't driven a Hyundai XG30 or a Tiburon.

  • Comment removed

  • and is there auto maker in british? jaguar? shut the fuck up

  • @dhksrksalem yup i drive one...its a piece of shit

  • They still eat dogs like basters

  • Asb75 what ever the hell and the other transvestite

  • What's your problem if u like Korea so much go live there with the comunist

  • @Jony80031 hyundai is made in south korea, which is a presidential republic. Its not communist

  • @ARighteousKiller you should let him just think the way he wants to.

Remember, humanity is entering an era of ignorance, and utter stupidity

  • Ji Sung Park is NOT HAPPY

  • After i watch this video and i know hyundai is a reliable car :D

  • he fucking crazy!!!!!!

  • When I'm old I'll set fire to all the Korean shit then we will have a Korean car free world If you on a one of those your a homosexual basterd

  • @Jony80031 jony its own not on a one of those

  • @Jony80031 next time use own instead of on

  • @Jony80031 Maybe we'll be lucky to live in a would without Jony80031, who is a homosexual "basterd".

    Douche.

  • yes asshole jeremy Clarkson in adition to the English garbage (cal me rover 414) humble huyndai work until the end. huyndai never die....

  • just took my driving test in it.

    FUCKING KILL MEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG He destroyed an Accent my life is over lol. Don't know why evreyones making a big fuss on what is Korean crap

  • It's such a sin...! Although I like him and his show with Richard Hammond and James May, I can't stand that he didn't admit that the car although the lot of crashes, it was still working. And something else... What has Britain to prove? the fully pathetic and unreliable Rovers? the engines that have the inlet and exhaust manifold in the same side? It's too dangerous for the engine, as the exhaust heats the inlet, making the mixture hot and harmful for the engine components (valves, pistons etc)

  • @fagAshLil1234 I may remind you that Minis had the distributor right back of the grille... and in case of rain, the distributor was totally wet and unable to work... The problem solved the last 2 years Mini was on production... I like these cars, although they had some problems...! These and some Triumphs...

  • Ten years later and those bangers are now true classics.

  • as ironic and racistic video,as Jeremy Clarkson!

  • did anyone noticed at the end, it sounded like a honda??

  • So I couldn't watch this video straight away due to a Hyundai ad?

Do I smell a slight bit of... irony?

  • lol did he destroy that car just because its korean? I mean, I'm sure theres other countries to bash on their "taboos" about :P

but then again, he hates anything that isn't british.

Never mind all of that, he's still the best motoring show presenter in the world.

  • there underrated cars, i love top gear but i can't agree with jeremy on this sorry :(

  • @DJVADO17 i know its not that bad

  • @DJVADO17 These cars are simply shit on wheels.

  • If u never oned 1 you cannot say !!_!

  • @DJVADO17 I dunno about the older Accents but my father rented 2 newer ones at different points, they were both cheaply made and slow.

  • @DJVADO17 He did not do a very good job of convincing the British public not to buy Hyundais. Hyundai sold 28,000 cars in 2008, then Hyundai sold 57,000 a year later.

  • @DJVADO17 you may have had some history with it but its an awful car as far as an actual automobile goes

  • @DJVADO17

what a waste. look how much the Hyundai took and still was running.

I like Top Gear, but I somtimes dislike clarkson.

great britain lost its carmakers, hyundai is now making very nice cars.

the 2011 hyundai sonata or even luxury cars like the genesis sedan, wich was in the us car of the year.

  • @DJVADO17 i agree with you 100% on that sir

  • Hyundai Accent is the perfect car for the James May

  • @xsf908 remember when james and jeremy tested the cars from the pacific rim in series 4 or 5

he tested the accent and hated it

  • @toreto5000 But stil that car is perfect for him

  • wrexcel

  • he would be happy to destroy cars here in australia

here we got fuck loads of Excel and Great Walls

  • I would have no problem to work at one of those places crushing Korean and Chinese cars.

  • u suppose to take that bag out

  • Love after the Dolomite is destroyed and Tiff gets in that red car and charges at Jeremy, I've never seen him quire so scared, "Holy Shit!"

  • That's a quality car right there. And Clarkson is a rich snob.

  • You know... that Hyundai...it was a rental.

  • I think what he missed here is that the car still works after what he tried to do to it. The reliability of the accent is good. Yes it is basic and boring. But some people need cheap cars, that get them form A to B and do it all satisfactory without breaking down. But then he knows he is a car snob so there is no use telling him.

  • Hyundai is making good cars now and i think Hyundai is better then all French & American cars.

  • 3:59 My doggie bag's gone off!
