  • Wow you killed more then 2 birds with 1 stone (birds being companies or w/e) and damn I want a donut now. >> I feel sorry for the cops. LOL

  • I sent this video to the head honcho of youtube himself. Let's hope he listens. If it's youtube's fault then they may change things. if it's the recording "industry's" fault, then youtube can file charges against the record companies.

  • But still, it says on the back of CDs and LPs that you're not allowed to copy them. But then why did all these companies to make cassette recorders, CD rippers, mp3 players and other devices for copying music? Hmm, I wonder if I ask the employees at WMG if they used to record songs on to cassettes they'd say yes? Does that make them hypocrites, oh no, they make the laws.

  • So the Artist or Band writes the song and the record company does...? Makes CDs? I mean I can make Mp3s on the computer, so why bother with the record company? Oh wait they put songs on the radio, because they own the stations. Hmm, so the record companies do fuck all in the long run, they just own other companies.

  • you can have sex with the donut

you can make og tyger donut mp3 donuts you can listen to techno while eating a donut

brb going to go get some copyright for that idea

  • There is a video posted about you Tyger claiming you are the hacker with a picture of you from your account and a picture presumably taken as a screenshot from one of your videos saying that when the two photos are compared it means you must be him. I don't believe it cause why would you hack yourself to get more views it just makes no sense. The accusors must be the hackers cause they are trying to cover up the fact that they are.

  • Some think you did it, some think you were framed, I don't know JB's opinion about this but it doesn't seem like he's pointing the finger at anyone.

  • I can't make anyone believe anything, especially when they're already convinced of the "truth" in spite of all evidence pointing to the contrary. All I can do is be a voice of reason, and hope my voice is heard.

  • Similarly, when I've tried to explain the problems with copyright protection, intellectual property lawsuits and the stuff that's been circulating since the whole messy incident began last year... I'm told I don't know what I'm talking about or that "that's just the way it is". And people seem to somehow think it won't ever effect them. It's sad.. I really enjoyed this, the whole donut metaphor was a perfect example, I think.

In fact, I'm-a going over to Facebook and link to this. :D

  • "that's just the way it is" is an argument for idiots. These were the same people burning printers as witches after the printing press was invented. It is not a logical justification at all and leads to the use of coercion.

When they can't rationally justify their position, they then justify with the use of force (DMCA).

It's the "because we said so" doctrine, and it is in use because they have already lost the culture and intellectual war. We are dealing with sophomoric children.

  • check out Sithis78's account to see why people are accusing you. I think it's a load of crap.

  • Is there any way to report a troll? I wish there was an abuse for trolling

  • No, youtube's official stance is "just ignore them, they might go away." And there's no rule against being a jerk to someone, unfortunately. You can report them for harassment, but that's almost as useful as a campaign promise in an election year.

  • dammit, we are in elections here...

  • I wish I had a shed like yours.. :l

    No storage sucks..lol

  • D: dear god. that was crazy. i somehow understood all of that,

and now i think ill go to timhortons to get me some Intellectual Property of my own..

no no no, im not going to eat it, just .. place it on my plate..

    .. and..

    yeah im gonna eat it,

  • They pull videos that contain music but not videos that contain links to either listen to music or to ILLEGALLY download the music. Almost like they want us to break the law....

  • wot the hell were do u guys get this crap

  • very thinking .Intellectual video--good analogy--those donuts, arent good for you anyway--yeh one thing the ent. groups are learning-how to do, what we do for them--but in our case there are no dough-nuts involved

  • Ok, been seeing a lot of this from people on my main comments page. Could ya tell me where this is coming from?

  • @TygerWDR JBtheanimator got hacked and they are using clips of you in a video, all other videos on the account have been deleted as well. They are also flashing clips of some drawing during the video.

    Thats the sitch here. :(

  • Ahh, so people think I'm the hacker to get "hits" onto this space?

    That doesn't even make sense.

  • Get an education and develop an innovative idea, then come back and talk about IP.

  • i am robertquime. i hacked this account and i will hacking them until you are SHUT DOWN

  • WMG wastess their time just doing all this, I only had a 10 second portion of a song in my video, and they say I should get rid of it, which means I have to get rid all of my videos. it was only an intro

  • What they are doing now is destroying the creative spirit of young people.. Deleting young peoples Youtube accounts for copyright infringement.. ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!! Young people are more important than their stupid profits!! Before the 1900's corporations had to prove they were to function for the public good. John D Rockefeller bribed congress and destroyed that..

  • The end goal is always profit, and profit will always rank higher than any humanistic ideal. In order to beat the pursuit of profit, the masses would have to abandon the monetary society which everybody has already conformed to. It's a cheesy and age old story, but profit is always the priority, otherwise it wouldn't be an "industry." Word.

  • Utterly ridiculous and immature metaphor.

You cannot regurgitate a donut over P2P for thousands of people to eat. Jesus did something similar, but only once in the Bible.

What is so bloody wrong about paying for films/music anyway? Why should you get it all for free. Jesus bloody christ.

And by the way you can open an account with Warner/Sony/etc to resell their films/music. They have thousands of distributors selling their content. You might have to go to one of them first.

  • That's not his point.

    He doesn't want it free.

He reffers to the fact that you are not allowed to resample your music. Or you are not allowed to take a movie and a cd and make your very own music video out of it.

  • You are allowed to do the things you mentioned.

  • your completely missing the point here not once deos he say anything in this video about p2p sharing being ok or that downloading something illegally is ok. All he is saying is it is ridiculous that when you buy music legally you cant use it yourself as background music or to create your own music video. He never said anything about having it for free but i would feel that by using music in a video it is essentially free advertising for that band and brings them new fans and recognition.

  • You can't use it for background music if you are making a public performance, or a public video. You can use it if it is not on public display (i.e. eating a donut).

Did you know businesses have to pay a small license to allow radios in offices/warehouses?

Every TV program has to pay for each piece of music they use. Why should some person on Youtube be exempt from the rules?

  • Ahh, but if I eat my donut in public, it's against the law. All I'm allowed to do is take the donut home, and look at it, and that's not what I want to do. I want to enjoy it, I want to share it with a friend, I want to let people know how cool this donut is.

See, Dred baby, you're the example of what's wrong with the industry mentality. Defending so valiantly screaming that we're stealign the music... Did you watch the video? Really? Did you?

    I think you didn't.

  • You really are an idiot.

  • ha fuck off if your not going to hear the man out he makes some very valid points.

  • No, he doesn't. How hard is to understand you have to pay for most films/music/games/etc? What is so wrong with paying?

If you use music which requires a license in your video, it might get pulled from Youtube. What a fúcking suprise.

There about 50 billion people out there who will let you use their music for free, why don't you support then you bunch of complete and utter twáts? They will be so grateful you bothered to email them you will help yourself and them. Go on, do it you bastards.

  • because we don't want there shit music...

  • @ZANEm1418

So, you only want music that is advertised for you by a record company, who let you know which music you should like. What a massive idiot you are.

Maybe if you spent 1 millionth of the time looking for good artists as the record company spent on developing and promoting theirs you might actually find something, you lazy degenerate,

  • who r u to tell me what i do or don't like. i don't not prefer the most popular music. but that doesn't mean its not copyrighted. and trust me when i say record company advertisement has nothing 2 do with the songs i like and you want 2 know how i know this...wen was the last time u saw a commercial for the offspring, the beach boys,or daft punk, or bto and the bloodhound gang all very good bands in my mind but tell me wen have u heard about them on the tube?

  • troll, you are triny to wind me up by talking about bands featured in multi million dollar advertising campaigns in every single country on earth, that every single person has heard of

  • how am i a troll. i don't curs a lot i don't leave Negative comments on videos but instead leave comments 2 people like you who do nothing more and tell others what they are in your eyes. now some 1 plzz plz plz plzzzz. tell me that your not saying. that over 25% of iraq has heard of the bloodhound gang or daft punk or even bto! what about in Germany? cuz i dont think so... these bands are popular yes but not because of advertising but because they make good music!

  • 1. 100% of iraq has heard of bloodhound gang

universal have done massive billboard campaigns in iraq, it is a huge potential new market for them

    2. daft punk isnt even a real band, you just made it up

    3. they all make good music because the record company spends loads of money, hoping the that ppl will appreciate it and buy the music. NOT steal it like you guys who would go to jail if/when you get caught.

  • What??? Daft Punk is sor of a techno band it does exist!!!

  • i aint falling for it m8, i know its made up

  • gosh you are an ass I dont know what you get for being a troll, you should really quit, you ass, hope you get your account closed. somehow!

  • okay so who is the one making insults - you

who wants to get people's accounts closed - you

take a look in the mirror m8

  • hey Zane?

DN here is a troll, by his own admission.

Don't feed the trolls, brah. It just encourages them.

  • You misuse fair use in your ridiculous arguments. Stop doing it.

The good thing is nothing you do or say will change the law, which is CORRECT as it is. You can't use people's content for free, unless they let you do it. And you still ignore that there is loads available for free stuff. Funny how the popular Youtube channels can be bothered to get free music isn't it? You are too lazy to do it yourself.

  • @ZANEm1418

It says on DN's page that he doesn't even like music... weird, since this topic is music-related...

  • I am against all piracy of content. Why should certain people be able to get stuff for free when everyone else has to pay?

Record/film companies spend a load of money and employ tens of thousands of people to make the content you tossers think should be free. Whether I listen to music or not is irrelevant.

Your laziness and arrogant attitude will get in the way of you achieving anything. Now stop trolling me you idiots.

  • @DreadsideNubune

I'm not saying that I am for nor against what's happening. I choose to attempt to hear what both sides are saying before coming to a decision.

As for the weirdness, I only said that because if you don't like music, why would you bother watching this video if its main point is about people who like to listen to music? I am merely curious at the thought. There was no need to resort to name-calling.

I apologize if I was trolling you and won't ever do it again.

  • ok dont worry about it i just think the copyright debate is over-complicated by people who seem to be moaning about paying for content

  • You mean like how Warner Music Canada is stealing content from artists to resell nationally in Canada on "best of "albums without paying the artists? And how they, and the other major labels, are losing a lawsuit that could go as high as $6 Billion for stealing content from artists?

  • A few issues in the industry does not mean it's a free for all.

  • Is not about being free or stealing music, is about sharing but WMG wants a lot more than they deserve, is not just the fact about watching a video, is to reveal people a lot more of music they dont know, you are just being burocrat and capilistic, YT pays for all of this dont you get it, there will always be piracy, there will always be thieves, I. Do this, you buy music or not, good for you, can you stop people from getting things for free, NO! deal with it

  • good point.

  • "There about 50 billion people out there who will let you use their music for free"

Ok, then please enlighten us as to where to find these 50 billion people please? They must be in outer space, as the global population is only estimated to 6.6 billion.

you know why I don't block you from commenting? your'e too damned funny. You hate, and hate, and hate, and never add anything positive to anything you touch. you must live a sad life if this is your only outlet of fun.

  • tyger i love hearing your point of views and i agree with them but i want 2 know will you be posting any more paintball vids. or are u going in a state of rebel and will no longer post vids of paintball but in stead battle it out with you tube?

  • are the "Make Your Own Dnnut" People supposed to be the trolls?

  • Very good metaphor. You see having seen you with your doughnut, I now want one (which I will pay for). When videos are stripped of their music people do not get to hear / see it. Just as if you were stripped of your doughnut I would not get to see you waving it around and go and buy one. Sales end up being lost due to silly decisions of big record companies.

    Very good video,

    Matt

  • Good arguments all around. And your most recent point about it being for immediacy instead of long term is right on. Besides, if someone is going to "steal" music, they're going to download it or rip it from web radios instead of playing the same video over, and over, and over again on YouTube.

Them being butthurt about the whole ordeal seems the only viable cause for this modern day witchhunt.

  • @first part: How do you want musicians make money without selling and reselling their music ?

  • Live performance isn't out of style already, is it?

Besides, the original intent copyright was to protect the immediacy of a work, not he long-term lockdown of the creative process so a group of people who didn't make the work could profit on it. That's what I disagree with.

  • Jesus, Play some paintball or create another channel to bitch about this stuff... unless this is your other channel, in which I will remove foot from mouth.

  • dude, then watch the paintball videos. He's creating this only because his paintball stuff got nearly removed.

  • Actually, I've lost audio on several FPS vids, and I had to lobby to youtube that they were educational to get the audio back. Even then, I've still got vids that don't have audio tracks because of this stuff.

And this is a little more important than paintball, sorry. Just ask the people who made the Viking how copyright/patent law is broken. or MCB, that'll start a flame war.

  • RIP: A Remix Manifesto, youtube it.

  • good arguments.

  • You nailed it perfectly, this is exactly how it works. One argument that I also often hear is "fair use". One thing that people don't realize is that the "fair use" argument doesn't apply to music, thanks to the litigation that the music industry has brought before the courts...

  • Yeah music corperations are such a big bunch of whingers. What a shame the recession didn't take some of them out.

  • way to go tyger!

  • wow I can't believe this has just happened lol. I just read the whole thing until I read the whole bottom line. now that is something. you're really good

  • I was shown that article a couple weeks ago. I just thought how great it was that what they were doing to us is slapping them in the face. Maybe now they'll learn!

  • I love this video, litteraly brilliant, always keeping the people of youtube infromed, thank you very much Tyger

  • rofl, wmg and other music componies are getting what they deserve, opening a $6,000,000,000 bill on cristmas morning. serves them bloody right.

  • Good job.

Really enjoy the ranting that is based on fact and logic.

    Keep it up.

  • Another great video. Very entertaining, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get your butt out to the paintball field! :P

  • :):)

  • oh my god that is funny as hell... and it makes perfect sense!

  • Lmao, I love you Tyger

  • more paintball vids

  • Tasty intellectual property over the topic of hypocrisy.

Another fine video. Glad to watch you, glad to follow ya.

  • This is being shared on my Facebook page. Good show, Rob.

    haha

  • YEA BOI...right on :)

  • yumm i want a donut now

  • artists get jack swizle from record sales, wanna support a band! go to their shows buy the shirts and merch from their merch booth! im talking real bands though, not corporate coontrived "artists" and most bands would rather have you download their album and go to a show instead

  • to true, fuck the record companies

  • this video = massive super duper awesome epic win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • *key bored clicking away*

    PERFECT!!

  • Hey tyger are you taking a break from paintball? Its been awhile sense I've last seen a pb vid.

Great vid by the way, it makes a great point.

  • Dude, It's middle of winter. Why do some of you expect paintball videos? Most of the paintball community is in their "off season". It's like asking snowboarders to put up snowboarding videos in July.

    BTW: love the metaphor

  • how about because he plays indoor too!

  • plenty of us are still balling in the snow, unless we make the trip to plex (indoor). It was a simple question as to why I have not seen a video sense LL2 (summer time), he answered the question.

I snowboard in the summer, our place has "snow makers"... its pretty cool.

  • genius

  • Very well done haha. Great metaphor, very easy to understand, not to mention hilarious lol

  • I know I´m going to look like an ass for this, but you should fix the title. You spelled "intellectual" right in the video, so I guess it´s a typo.

As for the video, it´s always interesting to listen to this stuff once in a while, to reassure what´s allowed, what´s not and what should but isn´t.

  • Fixed, I was in a rush last night when i was posting. I'm allowed a typo or three.

  • Nothing wrong with that. ;D

  • that is how intelectual property works

  • i love your paintball videos.

  • good point...

  • Smart, love this video

  • you hit the nail on the head! ... like with an anvil

  • when are there more paintball videos coming?

  • @lilW4life

    i second that

  • When I can afford to spend the money on another helmet camera, I'll do more of those. Other than that, no plans just yet for anything like playing videos.

  • what happened to your helmet cam?

  • the wires got pulled, so it's broken. Plus my recording unit is now broken too. Wires, again. So, it'll be pretty hefty to fix, or replace.

  • aw hope u get it fixed before LL3 ;)

  • Hey Tyger! if you want to send me your helmet cam I can most likely fix it for you. Considering the fact that I work at an electronics repair shop and if I can't fix it the other guy I work with probably can. I will do it for free because I want more videos!!

  • The same problem keeps happening, mainly the wires rip out of that model. I don't think they intended it for long term paintball use, unfortunately. I'm seeking a cheaper alternative, if I can find one.

  • those companies depend on us and same as for the artists, they say: "Oh if you don't buy orginal CD's, the band will go Broke!" that is a Lie, they give only a small percentage to the band based on the contract when they sign in, "if you guys reach this amount of gold or paltinum you get this fixed amount, Thats all the magic there is in music business, but the most profited are the record Labels, we should buy bands with independent label records, dont buy anything from this HUGE corporations.

  • according to some news my computing teacher told us, over here in the UK artists no longer wish to be under music corp's and want to sell their music through themselves. =P

  • You've got a point dude but unfourtunattnly that's life no one has common sense in these bisnusses any more. Any thing any trys to do to over turn or get rid of something something else will come up to nix that.

  • Im a Diabetic i have no hope.

  • this is really random but during that whole thing i couldnt stop watching your door i dont know why

  • These companies wont stop until we ALL do something about it, and sadly there is a majority of people that still say "oh well, it's not THAT expensive"... They're paying probably over £100/$150 just for their music each year... That could get them a new Ipod to play it all on, earphones, speakers...

We need to show them WHERE their money is going, because I'm sure a lot of them are probably ignorant enough to think it's just going to the actual artists...

  • It's all about money, isn't it? Humans created music to entertain others. All these music companies just want money and consider anyone listening to the music without paying for it a threat. Come on, most of us pay for the CDs, which is a financial loss for us, and people who hear the music we put could take an interest in the artist and buy their CDs.

At least these companies have been shown what hypocrites they are, with their complimation CDs.

  • u can smell it, ^^

    best part

but i agree with u rob

    much love from germany

  • i totaly agree

wourl sucks so we create yt (onother world)to add what we like AND THEY MAKE IT SUCK MORE then first world that have been suck (and it stil do)

btw. im stil angry on wmg it isnt over every third song on yt is muted by wmg

  • right now and since October, WMG have recently re-uploaded every WMG music vids since they made a new deal w/ youtube again. but something tells me that they're going to fuck it up again.

  • hahaha, i like the South Park reference. #3 ????? #4 PROFIT

    xD

  • That is so true. I've never even thought this thing from this angle, but now when you said it, that is true. I hope those big dick companies gonna lose those lawsuits and give some space, not only for for us - consumers, but artists as well.

  • Keep going tyger you got plenty support from all youtube users.

  • I'd rather they did similar videos. One voice is easy to ignore, but like 5,000 or 10,000 people saying the same thing? That's my goal. Make it so the politicians can't ignore it, and they do what we put them in office to do. Make the laws for us, not large corporations.

I know, that sounds WAY too Michael Moore-ish. Sorry....

  • awesome and very informative... I want some intellectual property right about now...

  • make mine glazed

  • I concur, glazed for mine as well

  • I f****** love doughnuts!!1
