  • been lookin for this song for bleams thank you for posting this xx

  • just heard it on sounds of the 60s

  • We all wanted Zooey's look and Fab208 magazine told us how to get it!

  • They look so decent in comparison to today's singers and at that time they were considered undecent looking with their long hair and "Hippies" look...

They also sing much better, lyrics is better and so is the melody. How lucky i am to have lived at that time...

  • Great great great song i love it, thank you.

  • Albert Hammond (« It nener rains in southern california», «the free electric band», etc) is the leader of the group? Great song, i remember it in lmradio (mozambique)

  • shark eyes

  • They rock as hardcore as the Partridge Family. Hail Satan!

  • Great Track Easy to Sing along To. Thats if you can Sing lol

  • it's great to see anything with Albert Hammond on, even if he is always to the side and seemingly out of the limelight with Steve Rowland the singer/producer up front

Hammond provided the great harmonies, wrote a lot of the group's b sides and also Little arrows, Gimme dat ding, Make me an island + many more with Mike Hazlewood, the guy sitting down with the girls

Rowland also produced all of Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich's singles

  • Great song. Brings the memories flooding back !

  • lovely blonde. the late sixties could produce icongraphic femmes

  • This is a beuatiful song. It means a lesson for our life... i didn´t know Albert Hammond was in the group ! Hammond of «It never in southern california» and «The free electric band«? GREAT GREAT GREAT

  • One of the great pop singles of all time. The blonde lady is Christine Holmes who used to be a regular on the'Crackerjack' TV show in the late sixties.

  • @mrrayjd No - Doreen De Veuve (blonde) and Pam "Zooey" Quinn (brunette) are the girls although Doreen did not stay long.

  • @familydoggs I'm sure you're right,41 years is a long time to get confused.Christine certainly joined in 1969 though and,if you are correct, was a pretty good look alike for Doreen.

  • @familydoggs Also, Mike Hazlewood died in 2001.

  • this song reminds me of my childhood sweetheart maralyn riley from next door

  • Lovely song. Is this group still together?

  • No, Albert Hammond went solo and the rest is history really.

  • They certainly plastered the make up on that bloke. I wonder what he looks like without it.

  • My Favourite song of all time....It`s all in the memories.

  • stiil have the single

  • they are great singers and a lovely song wish groups like that existed today.

  • starting to miss me youth!!!!Almost me first vynil !!!!!!!

  • Excellent! Enjoyed that. Takes me back to my mis-spent youth!

  • Mega thanks.

Once of my fav childhood songs, never thought I would see it again

  • thanks to lvmedo for the 5 star share!

  • this was my favourite song growing up and smashing to see and hear it again - try to hear their second album View from Rowland's Head

  • lead singer Steve Rowland started off as a cowboy actor in Beverly Hills, playing on "The Rifleman" and other shows, often as the heavy. Became a super-producer of bands like Peter Frampton's Herd and Dave Dee, as well as a singer. Then he went a junior Geffen route, becoming a movie producer!

  • B E A U T I F U L

    Thanks for this LVEMEDO

  • heard this on a old radio atlantis snap crackle and pop show.rebound sound.good un

  • Utterly fantastic! The quality of that tape is amazing! Thanks to Annie482000 for sharing this! Glowing stars and hugs..Jan and Susan.x

  • I have the single somewhere, will have to dig it out and dust it down. Have to agree with you on the quality of the tape, Jan. It's probably been digitally remastered but it's still good.

  • Snap...heard it this morning as well and just had to track it down.

  • gussie, many thanks for posting this, it takes me back to probably the happiest and carefree days of my life courting my wife of now 37 years, it makes an old mod very happy

  • thanks for posting gussie! wonderful tune.

  • what a sound

  • Woderful memories of a sandy beach in Kent, just strolling along in the sun with a lovely blond girl, cannot remember her name, but I remember this song, and I think I can remember my name too lol

  • Thanks Gussie !!!!

  • THats John Bohnam on drums!

  • A beautiful track from the wonderful 60's, I would love a copy but cannot find it anywhere, pure magic with wonderful lyrics back to when I was 17, aaaaaaaaaaaaaah

  • TIME LIFE Music have a series of 1960s CD compilations and the song is featured on one of those.

  • the blond girl is christine holmes who used to present "cRACKERJACK

  • Yes, interesting lyrics, "feather duster your vintage crown" - well someone, somewhere must know what it means!

They made a follow-up on Bell called 'Arizona' which I thought was an excellent song, but not many can have bought it as it didn't even make the top 50.

  • "Feather dust off your vintage crown." We yanks would just say dust off your crown...The Brits have much much better taste!!!

Wayne In Texas....loving me some U.K.!!!

  • Haven't heard this for years. This tune popped into my head earlier today and I've been singing it to myself, but couldn't remember the name or artist. Thanks for posting.

  • I've loved this song ever since I heard it way back in the late 60s. Great video..........thanks for posting!

  • Fabulous!!! Many memories rolling back. Thank you.

  • Thats a young Albert Hammond on background vocals and guitar.

"Some may wish to change the dish .."

Great lyrics ... but "Daughters mating?"

  • Never knew about Albert Hammond's involvement! According to Uncut magazine, the musicians in the recording were a certain, J Page, JP Jones, J Bonham and E John! As far as "Daughters mating" is concerned, it seems to be meaning marrying and having children, as it appears between "schoolgirls dating" and "mothers waiting".

  • Lovely tune. I first heard this when I was a young boy listening to my parents old 45's collection. How I wish I was around in the 60's!

    Thanks for this clip!

  • thank you gussie5555 so much for uploading this and the trouble you have gone to l love the song and always have your a star

  • Well done for posting this video.
