I love dancing to dubstep and other dances from today, but I still love and much appreciate the dances from Fred and Ginger.

Fred designed this dance to fit Ginger's ballroom dancing strengths...especially her wonderfully flexible back....and to fit the film's plot requirements. Fred said, many years later, that this dance was one of his favorites for its simplicity, tenderness, and elegance. Ginger's spins are still a little bit stiff...but she was well on the way to proving herself as the elegant dancer she was. As Balanchine said: "The reason I came to America because of wonderful dancers like Ginger Rogers.".
