the whole point of this is the bluetooth and the camera built on the coter that is displayed onto your iphone which enables you to sty where you are and look where you are going by looking at your iphone. You can't do this with a RC helicopter unless you mount a camera on it and broadcast it to your home or something.

E.g. if you often need to make aerial shots (e.g. for aerial archaeology, in case you don't need the pictures to be taken too high) this price is a bargain. One flight with a helicopter costs up to 5000 € (100 € per minute). So if this thing cost 1000 € even if you only need to make one single shot it's already cheaper. And every further shot is virtually gratis.

@sharpanator Ah, I assumed these things are as good as the do it yourself quadcopter I saw at the chaos communication camp at Finofurt. These flew high enough and made good enough pictures. In fact they had shake compensation, auto stabilisation, auto navigation via GPS etc. and recorded videos that looked like made with a huge crane and not by such a small fragile flying thing.

They need to develop a controller that can handle the camera better. From what i've noticed, using the iPhone/Pod/Pad the camera seems to sometimes get a ltitle, laggy. Maybe if they made a controller for it, it would be much better when it came to the performance of the camera.

Not only that, but how many of us want to buy another phone just to pilot one of these? I'd buy two of them, if it weren't for the fact you need a iPhone to pilot them. I sense a partnership here.
