@preussisch,Im sorry but i dont agree, WW2 was started because of NAZI aggression, yes the Versailles treaty was harsh on Germany and yes it bred resentment but it was NOT the cause of WW2, it was Hitlers dreams of a Germanic racially pure Europe. The UK revised Versailles with Hitler, reperations ceased to be paid, the Anglo-German naval agreement was made and we even looked the other way over Czechoslovakia but it wasnt enough, appeasment bought the allies time but also got us 60+ million dead

@GidE0n23 Actually, World War II should be laid at the feet of the Allied Powers from World War I, and their direct actions led to the collapse of the German state and the rise of Nazi Germany. That being said, France and The United Kingdom declared war on Germany for its desire to reclaim their former territory from Poland (Another Allied creation from WWI).

The US military forces consist of around 1.5 million active soldiers and another 1.1 million soldiers in reserve. The military budget for 2006 saw ~35 billion US-Dollars on the german side and 660 billion $ for the US. Even if the entire rest of the NATO allied against the USA, their military budget would sum up to not even half of what the Americans are spending.
