  • Just saw it today, and it's a really good movie.

My only complaint is that the ending seems way too abbrupt. Like it doesn't really end, it just stops. Besides that, thought, it's great.

  • woulda been bettr if he was a two llegged werewolf. thats where it wouldve been more scarier

  • lol x kiss x i,m a werewolf grrrrrr roar bom bom bom bom bang a bang a bang a bum bum bum bum

  • "An American Werewolf in London...something different..."

You can tell the studios were clueless as to how market a horror movie from a comedy director.

  • I really love this film! I saw it at my friend's house durring halloween. it was pretty funny untill the ending of the film. besides that Ithis film rocks.

  • LoL -> "I'm a werewulf... Grrrr..." xD

  • A NON STOP ORGY SEE YOU NEXT WEDNESDAY

  • God this movie was the shit, I still have it on VHS. When it ended I was like WTF... it shows her crying and its a sad scene and then the credits show up and all I hear is

BOMBOMBOMBOM..BOMBOMBOMBOMBOM..BOMBOMBOMBOM. BOMBOMDANDANDAN... haha that cracked me up.

  • @MrBobbyhill39 I remember seeing it in theaters with my date. and we both thought when David, has the werewolf, gets shot. That's It??? Maybe they ran out of money and ended it at that scene. Also, How come she's not shot when he is, or was. I would of loved too of seen a sequel too this one. Maybe have Alex pregnant with David's kid. And not turn into a werewolf until his teens. lol

  • @hulkster46a kinda sound like similar to the fly 2 of what you're refering to

  • @TheDurhampower1 Yeah sorry about that, lol. I just would of liked too of seen David kinda like Jacks character, in that he's dead and no one can see him, except Alex and his offspring. lol.

  • @hulkster46a i so think you have the perfect idea

  • For the very best in Werewolf movies...

    The Howling

    American Werewolf in London

    Company of Wolves

    Ginger Snaps.

...and after those...hmmm...Werewolf in Paris, Dog Soliders and...Cursed. Maybe Van Helsing...

  • @SamusDrake Forgot The Wolf Man with Lon Chaney.

  • @AtorTheFlyingEagle

The original Wolf Man is simply brilliant and is still entertaining even today. The new version could have been incredible, but they went overboard on the CGI and the film's pace was far too impatient.

  • Still the best werewolf movie ever.

  • i down loaded this but it still needs to convert to i can watch it on my computer i hope its worth the wait

  • 30 years on this is still the best werewolf movie ever made.

Its hard to explain full blown horror meets black comedy, a true classic.

  • @Trenttf1 i agree my all time fave, love the rainy foggy atmosphere too....so awesome...

  • OMG it's awkward :D

  • @ThePianosarah why awkward?

  • what is the name of that song 1:10

  • @carlozorra

'Blue Moon' Not a version I have ever heard before though, you might have to fish around to find it.

  • @carlozorra Meco blue moon

  • Love this movie!

  • Is that Sha Na Na doing Blue Moon?

  • I remember seeing this in the theater with my mom. It's hard to believe it was so long ago.

  • John Landis must like having cars smashed up in his movies

  • cant believe it was 1981.. doesnt seem that long ago to me..

  • pic 0:33 is awesome

  • pic 0:33 is awsome

  • This movie is bad ass!

  • "Horror comedy"? What exactly is comedic about this movie...?

  • Still one of my favoriutes!!!

  • I remember watching this at the age of 7/8 and it scared the s### out of me, and have it on DVD to this day, this should be a message to all horro film producers / directors - this is how a horror film should be made, take an unrealistic situration and deal with it in a realistic manner, and old film that puts all new and modern films to same - john Landis, we salut you

  • The best way to see this movie is in full projection. I saw it back in the day and the moor scene was utterly frightening... especially since stuff like that was not at all commonplace in movies. Well done for the time and still scary.

  • WTF? i guess i should see this

  • whats the name of that song i got no

  • i have seen this on syfy uk over the weekend

it is still timeless david naughton was howlingley

good when he transformed into the werewolf

my fave funny scene was the young lad said to this lady

a naked american man just stole my

balloons and she said what in dissgust but funny scene though.

  • if u want to download this get yoursellf a torrent 4 ur pc thn go on btjunkie or pirate bay then type AAWL in full spelling and u can download , its not any of tht tiny u r l shit thts just spam wantin ur money and time

  • The monsters with machine guns are wicked sick. The VHS version is better cuz that part with the guns sounds faster than the DVD

  • How is that song called? that ba ba ba bam kedeng e deng deng

  • @yoyorick3 Blue moon, it's ok

  • One of my favorite movies of all times, A combination of comedy, horror, and romance

  • urgh... the american werewolf causes all the trouble- it can't just stay in the yorkshire moors?

  • i was a 6 year old child when i first saw AWIL at night, parents where at work, no one kept an eye on me. when the guys get attacked in the moore, i wasnt able to watch it any longer. i was so mortally terrified this night, that i wasnt able to sleep alone till i was 12...

even today, im 24 now, when i walk alone in the darkness i have to suppress this trauma. i watched the full movie some weeks ago to confront the fear, but i probably wont be able to walk through a wood at night further on.

  • @zaunos if im ever walking down a long dark road..i always think of werewolf.....waiting for david to jump out at me lol......if u get scared wen walking..u shud think of the movie...think of the funny moments and if ur scared of a werewolf then as u walk..thats ok..cos theres nothing out there worse than a werewolf....so anything else in the woods cant be worse

  • THis is one of THE BEST if NOT THE BEST werewolf transformations..It sucks that the second movie was A S HITTIE PIECE OF C RAPP

  • lol, oh be serious wouldm you lol hes all dead and rotting, Jack

  • I watched this film again yesterday for the first time in ages - I still absolutely love it as much as I did in the 80's (i'm 36) and i'm also amazed at how well the special effects have stood the test of time (espeically the transformation scene). Reminded what a honey Jenny Agutter was in this as well :P

Next...an Evil Dead marathon methinks :)

  • do u know the name of the song that play's

    at 1:10 to 1:35?

  • Its "Blue Moon" by The Marcels. You can look up film soundtracks on the Internet Movie Database.

  • sorry for the really late reply!! this song is called 'blue moon' and this version is by Meco. :)

  • @britnic34 I'm 35, I watched this film yesterday and I couldn't agree more! btw I hope you enjoyed the Evil Dead movies too ;-)

  • OMG. I am 41 and have never seen this movie, I feel awful. Make sure to catch David on Friday nights episode of Psych. It's a tribute to An American Werewolf in London. Oct. 9th, 9 p.m. central. John Landis has even directed some Psych episodes, not sure if he's doing this one.

  • @pabsk67 i hope u have seen it since uve posted....just watched it again today....i watch it once a week, perfect cast, perfect story, perfect locations, perfect affects, perfect dialouge, perfect timing, perfect editing, perfect comedy moments (get the fuck outa here jack)....god jenny ugther is so fiiiiine....ill vist the movie locations very soon

  • did anyone know that was john landis being hit by the car at 1:18

  • Oh yes, hard to miss him with his trademark glasses and beard. Before becoming a director he did a lot of gopher work on films, including stunts too. I guess getting knocked through a window was simple for him.

  • 0:32 gets me every time damn it

  • i kno, i love that part!at first i thoguht he was a vampire, until i remembered the movie was about a werewolf XP

  • @anamericanwerewolfl LOL i think its funny

  • Awesome trailer for one of my fave horror films, thank you!
