this is quite the sexy song actually...or maybe it's Daniel's incredibly sexy voice, I don't know LOL. I really like the pace of it and the creepy aspect.

I must say that I don't really like Esmeralda's character ,it's not really the actress but the way they wrote for her part,she's not as special as the 3 men seem to think but I think that is actually accurate for the book because Esmeralda didn't seem to have much more than beauty and even that is subjective in the end so it works for me.

I have not read the book (which I will) or seen the entire musical so could someone explain what Esmeralda has done? Is she being accused of stabbing the King's Knight? What happens to him in the end?

@one985 She's accused of stabbing Pheobus when it was really Frollo who did it. Pheobus survives and marries Fleur de Lys.

I dont understand how can you compare french and other Esmeraldas.. I have seen italian, spanish, russian and even other versions - and I think that only this Esmeralda have read the book! In other versions their "expression" looks like emocions of prostitute.. No, this musical is the best ever. Thank you!

amazing story really ,,,,, Victor hugo was amazing he surpassed racine and corneille in real tragedy... it is the ugly but loving against the evil but powerful against the handsome but unfaithful .... Esmeralda is young and innocent she goes for the last she pay the price of her innocence.... the right way to do it was to go with the priest to avoid his evil and betray him with the pretty soldier and than take advantage as much as she can from quasimodo without giving him anything in return

I agree with many of you saying that esmeralda is not so expressive and involved as in the italian version. That is objective....anyway this is the first vesion of the musical and it is very well done. I like very much the priest in this version, I think he is one of the best actor in the french cast!
