  • Did you you use any special brushes like texture brushes?

  • very beautiful. you inspired me

  • Very emotional video for those who have come across such situations. Tears rolled down my cheeks by watching this drawing. Simply Brilliant !!! God Bless you.

  • Some of the greatest parts about artwork is not only when it looks cool, but when it tells a story as well. You obviously captured a lot of emotion in this, and were able to portray a back story of where that emotion is coming from in a single image. Bravo.

  • That was beautiful, thanks.

  • Wow. Check off "emotional" as successful - watching this creation process made me cry. D:

  • Nice, I see a little touch of Hopper there I think? The lighting anyway.

  • Absolutely Amazing!

  • beautiful

  • wow...

  • whoa!!! i know this is just animation but it's making me cry!!!!!!

  • this is one of my favorite classical pieces. really nice.

  • omg thats so sad? : [ but beautiful..

  • absolutely brilliant! 5 stars, so emotional. but i kept waiting for tiestos version of adagio for strings to kick in, wouldnt really be fitting though.. lol. excellent job.

  • Awesome. So much emotion.

  • this is a brilliant peice, the emotion you capture in it is amazeing. it truely is Amazeing and tells a great story

  • This could really make anybody cry. : [ Excellent job.

  • Really nice painting.

I was watching this when i was eating breakfast, i could almost feel the tears coming. Oo i feel sorry for that man :S

    Great!! 5/5 *

  • gosh so sad yet so awesome

    *painting of the year award*

    :)

  • that was great, could really feel the mood, you told the story very well

  • No, it's normally brush opacity, and/or sometimes you can use some other brush tools for darker themes, like burn. . and color morph. Ect. Some people use layers, others just use brushes. Depends on what's easier for you.

  • amazing

  • So good, and so sad...

    Time is cruel, isn't it?

  • yes, yes it is

  • i love i i do art with pencils and paper i couldnt imagen with a computer great job

  • Amazing.

  • Very powerful.

  • I cried...

  • Favourite + 5/5. Brougt a tear to my eyes.Speechless.

  • Beautiful. I can't even discribe how wonderful this is.

  • really beautiful.

  • When drawing the image itself (like the painting for example) how did you manage to make the colors fit in so well? was it a photoshop technique you used, or are you just good at picking it out?

  • im sure you use a tablet, if so could you specify which type and size,, this would help greatly, thank you

  • Please keep your dumb remarks for yourself, pieheavenly. Did he say he used his mouse for this? Almost every digital artist uses a tablet, you can't draw with a mouse, unless you're working with the pentool.

Anyway, amazing work of art... It saddens me to think that the odds of something similar happening to my or anyone else's future life are 50%, damn it hurts thinking about that... 5 stars + fav...

  • i dont quite understand why you are upset with me, i was asking a genuine question which i have the answer to a long time ago, i was trying to see which tablet i would buy i know have intuos 3 and yes people do use the mouse, you dont have to buy a tablet to be graphic artist , that is such a materialistic attitude.

  • Well you must be pro at ps if you claim you can draw well with a mouse...

A trackball or a tablet are usually used ;) It has nothing to do with a materialistic attitude, there are mice that cost more than a "cheap" wacom tablet...

And please, don't come here referring to my videos on youtube, as they are random and crap, and have nothing to do with my photoshop skills. (not that you did, buy I'm just saying incase you were planning on doing so ;) )

  • alright, but first comment i said was not beeing rude, thats all im saying, good day to you

  • yeah it's really sad to think that...u know one day u'll lose the one u love...then u're lonely..it really hurts like u said :(

    truly amazing work..definite fav !

  • Oh my god. wow

  • very very very good job

  • i was almost crying

  • this is amazin!

    very inspiring this :)

it actualy motivates me to paint a digital portrait. an to learn more, i love the effect did with the lighting, very impressive.

  • INCREDIBLE- ARTISTIC & POWERFUL!!

  • Man your really good, I just started with this kind of painting and I have to say your one of the best. It's incredible how you nailed the mood.

  • i love the painting!! its just amazing! the atmosphere of it .. touching.. really sad.. i love it

  • that was a beautiful piece of work.

i liked how it not only demonstrated your art ability, you managed to tell the story of what the old man was feeling and why in your process of painting. (the changes in his arms, the ageing of him, the point in the video when you painted the wedding photo). the video itself tells the story of the piece.

  • thats what happens when your loved eh?

  • truely touching. I prefered his hands down and bare..nothing in them......tired.....

  • wow, this is really amazing. i hadnt expected it to make me so emotional either-i actually cried. incredible, and very beautiful.

  • This is really sad..One, it sorta of looks like my dad....THAT IS SO DEPRESSING! Im happy my mom isnt dead. But I love this even though its so sad.You did an absolutely amazing job on this!

  • man, this painting really touched me. I never cried by seeing a painting and this one did make me cry. there's so much emotion and sadness in it, really well done. one of my favourite artworks ever.

  • What a sad composition. the music and the drawing process brings out the details of the picture. It makes a much more intense image than the finished work alone.

  • I cried = (

  • wow nice

  • does anybody remember this song from "simone"

  • yea

  • this is a very beautiful work! i like the picture.

in a way, it makes me sad.

i feel how blue this man is. it looks as if he had lost his wife.and the both looked so happy on the pictur in the background. but now...the happy times are gone...

And the music just adds so much to it.

  • This is an incredible video, and is surprisingly moving to watch, especially combined with your choice of music. Bravo!

  • This is really beautiful and enjoyable to watch it as it unfolds.

  • Very nice, this one. I like the dark tone in the painting. You can almost feel the cold air in the room.

And I love the music. One of my favorite songs. And the Tiesto version of "Adagio for strings" kicks ass!

  • Fantastic.

  • Outstanding! No need for explanation! I got it. Great work. Emotional

  • quite like ken currie

  • Once again a great piece of artwork you have done. Another bit of constructive critisism, which i hope may help :

Hands need abit more detail to them, they looked abit chunky and plain. I find them hard to do myself, and you're 100 times better than me!

    Keep it up!

  • waohow!!!! wtf this is great!why dont you sell ur works!!! its soooooo fantastic!!!

  • what peice of music did you use. it's absolutely beautiful

  • Samuel Barber - Adagio for strings

  • wonderful job on this piece. great time lapse and a great piece of artwork that really captures the human emotion.

  • beautfiful, the music suits it so well

  • Wow that was great! Personally I like the first pose you had him in. Was there a specific reason why the time was 3:25? I'm thinking it's the time that she died...but maybe it's just me. Favorited and rated 5 :D

  • I changed the pose because I wanted it to seem colder in the room. When your cold you bring your shoulders in and hold your arms tightly against your body. WHen his arms were relaxed it didn't seem cold enough in the room.

  • Oooh ok :) so is there any reason why the clock says 3:25?

  • No reason other than to show that it's the middle of the night. There's no particular symbolism behind the number.

  • I think it means the moddle of the night or something like, cause she was his sleeping partner. It think. I was so deeply lonely upon a time and I remember those hours in my lonely bed. Thanks to the artyst to share and see wath happends in some human lifes some times.

  • Do you have any formal art training?

    You rock, keep it up.

  • awsome...realy nice... did you use some references in the draw or in the shadowms?

  • no reference. you can see that i changed my mind about the position of the windows a few times.

  • i am deeply touched by this, do you think i could download it and use it for a music video

  • sure :), just credit me ok.

  • Really Good! What song did u use.

  • Samuel Barber - Adagio for strings.

  • What do you use a pc tablet or a usb tablet?

  • I use a cintiq tablet :)

  • Awesome, beautiful!!

  • This is amazing,

  • simply amaising. The alarmclock was an awsome touch.

  • Very good! I like the atmosphere!

    I have a question:

You started to paint the photograph of the wedding in a frontal view. But then you distorted it so that it fitted to the perspective of the whole picture. How did you do this? I never found such a function in PS (CS)

  • Sry for doppelpost...youtube is so friggin slow... -.-"

  • Very good!! I like the atmosphere.

  • It's called "free transform"

    Hotkey:

    Ctl-T

or from the menus edit-->transfprm--->free transform

  • yeah thats exactly what i was going to say. he put it on a new layer and then distorted it just like pimpofpixels said.

  • Thx^^ I use crl+T very often...but I always wondered how it is possible to transform each point of the "free-transform-selection" for itself. Got it know with some trial and error.

  • Dragging a corner: scales the transform

    while holding SHIFT, Scales uniformly

while holding CTL, Drags a point (what you are looking for.)

CTL and ALT, Drags a point and the opposite point.

SHIFT and ALT Scales around the middle...

I could go on, but you're looking for CRL, and just about every combination of CRL, ALT, and SHIFT does something different.

  • you eve

n make it sound easy lol

  • Wow...thank you very much!!

  • *jaw hits floor*

Wow, this is a very good video.

  • very nice men, i still a noob compared to you, i wanna reach that level. congrats, you got awsome skills. if you like watch my vids.

  • I have :) You're pretty good. One thing that I have learned for sure is that I perfer to draw on grey then on white... There are other techniques that I've tried out and aren't sure if I'll keep in my bag of tricks for good, but drawing on grey or a muted color always helps me because one of the advantages of the digital medium is to be able to draw with black or white.

I'm still learning myself... doing a lot of experimenting at this point.

  • yeah good point.

Im watching your vids over and over triyin to understand your technique. keep up your excelent talent and work.
