I love Holmes' conversation with the old sergeant. He knows how to fish for info and blend in. And the plot thickens!
Also Watson's sheer joy at discovering Oldacre wasn't as rich as everyone thought is great. He was clearly thrilled at contributing such a huge piece of the puzzle.
They tended to give Watson a bit more to do in the series than in the book. In the book it was Holmes that did all the work and deduction as far as the guy's bank account etc.
I love Sherlock Holmes and especially how brett portrays him. If you want to join my group called "The Art of Deduction" on facebook your more then welcome to. I just started it and I basically set up puzzles and photos and what-not and people try to deduce it :) I would appreciate some ideas! Hope to see you there.
Good housekeeping in action, Miss Creepy, getting a man just the right size that no one would miss. But Watson! That bit at the cab, then again at tea when the bad news arrives - wow!
I can haz a Watson too? Honestly Burke just nails it there in his expression of Watson's devotion to Holmes right here in that last scene. Brett too as Holmes shows his rare human side absorbing that support, that attachment he has to Watson. The two characters feed off from each other in the best and darkest of times.
@kaisenji Very well put. Even when Watson got married, he still would go on cases because he missed Sherlock too. Sherlock kept busy but he missed Watson. I think it was very hard for Sherlock to be without his Watson. Probably his rare show of true friendship to let him alone to be with his new wife. Am I remember it correctly?
Ach, Holmes you moron. Your brain runs on glucose. Eat, you idiot.

What was Holmes cooking?
Lyrictheac 1 year ago
@Lyrictheac Maybe it was a potato....or a nasty chunk of meat-like something

um, can I just say I love SH's hair uncombed. like in the blue carbuncle. makes him seem so much more human, somehow.

@KristinLavrans I completely agree with you!!

"Not a sight of him since", the tramp says. Then Holmes stares into the fire and sees burning wood in the shape of a man...

Good grief!! Did anyone else feel the need to punch that cocky fellow, Lestrade, at the end of this part?? I cannot stand arrogant people!

Is it just me or at 8:40 Holmes looks REALLY like the second Doctor Who (Patrick Troughton)?

Steam engine. Wonder if it's an old one? Yes, I like Jeremy's hair down.

incredible how much better holmes looked without his hair slicked back - gorgeous even with dirt on his face!!

Holmes makes such a cute hobo! The dirty face, the shy look, the tousled hair, the quiet voice -- he looks like a little boy!
I love Watson! He's the Samwise Gamgee of Holmes's troubled Frodo!

Aww, Watson's so cute. lol, breakfast can make anyone feel better.
Mr. Burke has certainly grown on me. I think i like his easy mannerisms. There was something compelling about the way he put away the violin.

with regard to the valuable deeds missing from the safe could the 'unhappy' John Hector MacFarlane not have taken them?
19996669991 2 years ago 2
It would have been absurd for him to steal them, as the will would have made him their owner anyway.

@kaisenji One person on fanfiction described it very well I thought - Holmes is the brain, and Watson the heart.

@catherinespark I say it is a fair and accurate observation.
