Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music inspired by great games such as Neverwinter Nights. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
Just think about how much has happened to games only in few years. How big change this was from Baldur's Gate. Graphical part at least. And then Dragon Age. I damn look forward to the next generation RPG from Bioware. I bet it will be beyond epic, spine chilling and tear provoking. It will be: bye bye IRL
yeah well i tried playing Icewind Dale II and its horrible, unplayable personally. However im currently playing through chapter 1 of neverwinter nights =] and its awesome! Gotta admit even though it carries all the confusing dice roll and nerdy crap with it as the previous games, its quite playable. Still dont know what half the stuff does, means or whatnot. But managing to get through the game pretty nicely. Im hoooked! lol
@mikeyb2k9 You're out of your mind. Icewind Dale 2 is leagues better than NwN. Not that NwN is bad, but IWD2 is better. Just because you can't control more than one character doesn't mean that nobody else can't. It also doesn't mean that a game is unplayable.
@mikeyb2k9 I am a one person controller myself. And this IS such a game, of course the campaign has implemented those "move 2 or more persons at a time " moments. But online is all about moving your character around ( in an enviroment filled with others ) in various scenery. It's complex, but nothing most people can't figure out...as with most games, right ? :) Give it a try,mikey I thing you'll like this classic game.
@mattrospecs I am glad I own neverwinter nights but yes the level editor just isnt as cool as that in NWN1. Such a pity. Have you ever made or played a mod for NWN1? I made one and made a cartoon intro for it here. The description box has the download link from the IGN vault.

I'll tell you what PISSED ME OFF about NWN; the infinite options you were given to customise. I just ended up on the toolset creating exactly the right items, to the point where I couldn't be bothered to play the game. PLUS the fact that item drops were random, meaning I'd kill everyone, then save and load until I got what I wanted from the chests. I'M NOT THAT KIND OF PLAYER! Holnestly! But the game just wasn't strict enough with me. It's no BG2 or PST, not by a long, long way.
I have been in love with this game ever since it came out and have played the campaigns with almost every kind of race combination out there. The mod community is probably one of the best out there. Absolutely wonderful game irrespective of whether you are an old D&D fanatic or a RPG newbie.
Btw, I totally cracked up when you picked the Manic Psychotic option as the voice for your character and said it was your favourite. It is my favourite too :)
I love this game to death its amazing to me I kick so much ass on it lol though I only get to play mabye 3 hours on week days longer on weekends right now my labtop wont play it since its windows vista but they say I need a disk to get it to work I was pissed off when it wouldnt work if someone knows whats wrong other then having to buy another computer or labtop please let me know
There should be a "Update" on the game launcher which updates it automatically. If it fails, type "Hordes of the Underdark (English) Patch - Windows" without quotation on Google, click the first link and follow the instructions.
You can play this game either solo or with other people (either on servers or you could go through a campaign with other players). Either way it's lots of fun.
Cool thing is that you can make your own huge persistent world so other people can connect to it and play online with you and your friends. I heard that the World Builder in NWN1 is easier and faster to work with than NWN2 World Builder, also might be way the online experience have been worse in NWN2. There where so many extremely well done persistent worlds for NWN1. A special thanks goes to the makers of "Lost Souls". This game is still on top of my favorite list cos it touched my heard deeply
LS, hehe I used to be a vivid player on LS ;) I was one of the first who found BoB and his minions....elven underground...secret passageway ..and a few U turns...and BANG hellballs were flying like mosquitoes :) Ahh the memories .....

Neverwinter Nights 2 has a much better campaign, but the online play is better in the first. Also, the second has some pretty high system requirements, so not everyone can run it properly.
Yes, you can more than one character to play around with - Mainly in the campaigns but some online servers also allows you to have multible charaters :)
Old Neverwinter Nights 1!!! NWN FTW!!! but you could use the subrace not only for the module, could it work also if you just want another name for your race or something! I remeber when I played as a Half-orc, that was a Troll as it's subrace, just for fun!
Hi. Your videos are cool I like them. I used to play NWN, try out some of these servers: CH2 Narc's bonds of blood or something like this. It's under role-play. Under action: PoA which stands for Path of Ascension, its really cool (you might need CEP). And last, but not least i had fun on Chaotic World Legends. It's a hardcore PvP server, so if you play there expect to be killed at level 1 by level 40s.(which is against the rules, but it happens a lot). NwN brings back good memories...:)
I got the game and installed it and it sais that it isnt compatible for windows Vista! does anyone know how to fix this problem? i really want to play.
I'd like to stress that you SHOULD never take the recommended when choosing your base stats and skill points. Like that, you can improve your build, take what is best for the build you have in mind.
Hey Warrington90, amazing video. I do think nwn 1 is far better than nwn 2. I mean if they would upgrade the graphic quality and add new feature and stories. It would rock lol.
Mine is very, very different. For one, I don't have the red background and that music - I just have the regular stuff. I also have a lot less skills, feats, etc. that I can choose - this applies to portraits, heads, clothes, colors, and voices as well.
I think ( as I may have mentioned in my reply to your comment on "pure druid" ) that this game is - still - very popular online and it has a very large and active fan base community. You probably need the expansions and have to d/l ( all legal of course ) some mods from bioware's mainpage. hope this helps :)

Well it all depends on the server you play on really. Some builds are not aloved on servers and some are. if you could tell me what you like ( class) I could tell you some cool pvp builds :)
Well you could try a hard hitter : ftr/barb/5 pala or barb 19/20 / pala 5 / assassin. remember to pump your charisma. Another is a ftr/bard/rdd. nice vrs. casters . Old school build is ftr 28/ 2bard / 10 PM :)

the game is fre to play online. it is powered by gamespy so just make sure you have the lastest of the free program installed. and for the question about elementalist / dark elf. you can be both but it is the different servers subraces that makes you chose.

Looks kinda the same =\ im after more of a 1 person controller RPG type game. And icewind dales like 6 units... its just way too much :S

Indeed feedmepaper, NWN is probably the closest thing that you can get to a pen n' paper D&D experience.
The mod community truly is astonishing, even if you'd only play through the Top rated modules it'll take up 500+ gameplay hours.

No, you don't have to pay an online monthly fee for this game :) It's hosted through Gamespy. Hope that helped.

You have to download the patch from the bioware website. Just google "NWN Vista Patch" and try to find it.

=> Look under "Arena" and choose 'Antiworld' ^^
