Very good vid. I would advise people to carry a few small Confederate flags in their car when they take a drive in the country. When they find a graveyard they can stop to see if there are any Confederates buried there. If they find some they can place the flag there. Our veteran ancestors didn't want to be forgotten.I will start doing this when I can find a good source for flags.
There's a Confederate grave by London. the guy is from Alabama, his name is Sheldon Ragland. story has it, he moved up before the war, but, before things got going, he went back to his home state and served. after the war, he came back to Ohio, found his house gone, he's got a nice spot by a creek that runs though. Keep the Colors A'Flyin
I went to Maple Grove Cemetery on the 24th of December to place some ornaments upon the graves of my loved ones. With Southron Pride in my heart I place the last ornament upon a tree at the grave of our fallen Confederate soldiers. It is a celtic styled cross with our country's motto written upon the back. I told them that our cause hasn't died, and that we are close to having our nation free from the lying thieving yankees. Merry Christmas and long live the rebellion! Deo Vindice
When I was back home in Mississippi, I would spot Confederate graves all over. Since I used to sell Confederate flags back then, I would order me a bunch of them stick flags, go back there and honor each grave with a flag.
This is great Michael, I'd love to see more like these, I've got to get my self a video camera, there's a bunch of CSA Army graves in my area. Thank again!
Every April on Confederate Memorial Day the members of the Alabama UDC place Confederate flags on all Confederate soldiers' graves. I don't know how they do it in other states.
The iron cross is available for purchase through several SCV chapters as well as several private foundries throughout the United States. The grave of any Confederate Veteran who served honorably is eligible for placement of this symbol.
The Iron Cross is placed at the foot of the grave as a permanent reminder of a Confederate veteran's faithful and courageous service to the Confederacy.
The cross is typically placed on Confederate graves by local chapters of the Sons of Confederate Veterans or by family members or interested parties related to the Confederate Veteran.
I love this video. The headstones that are upright with a point at the top are US veterans administration headstones. They have the southern cross of honor on them. The flat markers that have the same southern cross of honor are also US veterans administration markers. The VA will supply a grave marker free for any Veteran Confederate or US as long as their grave is unmarked or unreadable. Recently a lawsuit has changed that. Hopefully it will be resoled. Great job Readshirtarmy.
a few miles from where I live back in the hills a ways, there are 3 of our Confederate soldiers's graves. as i hear it,a little skirmish took place there. the headstones were chisled out of rocks from the river banks about a mile away. just a testimate to how dedicated our soldiers were to defending dixie.
next time im hunting back that way i'll try to remember to bring a camera, they aren't as decorated as the ones in your video, just 3 roughly carved stones on a steep hillside, but still, they deserve to be honored, as time wears on they are becoming harder and harder to read. I'd be humbled to have something i did be posted on SLMN.
Great vid RSA! I will make sure those flags get swapped out soon, FYI many years after the WFSI congress passed laws recognizing all Confederate soldiers with equal standing and rights as all other American servicemen. However, the new POTUS has suspended all memorial stones for Confederate servicemen furnished by the Veterans Admin.!
Thank you sir for posting this great video as well as your others. When I can afford the camera I too shall post a video of our Confederate dead in my hometown. Deo Vindice!
Sounds great, Nomed38. If you get some good material, feel free to share it with us and we can put it out on SLMN. All you need is a small camera and a bit of time.
hi ty for posting this vid it reminds us all of the price our confederate heroes paid fighting for our freedom keep up the good work your fellow southron Gary
I should make a vid of my ancestor Mr. David Jumpers grave in Swansea. He was of the first to enlist under Haygoods first SC regiment and served for many long years before being far from home at gettysburg to see general Lee make his dreadful mistake of surrendering in person. From what I heard he and many others cut a large tree there into small slices as a keepsake and somewhere along the line a family member lost it not knowing what it was.
Thumbs Way Up, PP! I document the graves of our Confederate Heros here in SE Texas. These brave men must be remembered and held up to us, their descendants, as examples to follow in our task of finishing the job they started....making a free and independent Dixie a reality. Keep up the Good Work. Deo Vindice.
Absolutely, Grenna2010. Thanks for your support. Actually, it's possible that some of these folks served with one of my ancestors who fought in the 2nd SC artillary and is from the area where this video was shot. It's estimated that up to as many as 1/3 of the male citizens of SC of military age were killed or died in Lincoln's invasion.

Thats horrible. An unknown confederate soldier. I wonder if his family was lost or if he did not have any to know he was gone.

Very interesting, thank you.
I wonder if there are any memorials to the civilian dead who were targeted by Northern troops?
Imagine a memorial stating that.

A terrible price, indeed. The Feds killed hundreds of thousands of our people to place the entire South under DC's control.
