  • I have watched this 3 times in the last 6 months.

  • i dont want it to end :(

  • you can tell that after he said camry, camry, camry, he started laughing for real

  • "Nutty pistons!"

  • holy shit the way he just interrupts the buyer to say his line.. fucking hell lol.

  • 7 people had larry walk out on them

  • 2:08

    did lerry said 2000 euros?????

  • @JonnyChannel It sounded like 2000 year old pen.

  • @ChristopherDone "The 2000 Year Old Man" is a stand up comedy routine by Mel Brooks. I imagine that subject came up when Ricky Gervais was talking about Jewish comedy. The 2000 Year Old Man is the perfect example of Jewish comedy.

  • Comments below: People David would walk out on.

  • LD is in my opinion Americas funniest writter.

  • Shirley, thats my mothers name. I love it!!!

  • Pretty cool. A couple of comedy giants casually talking shop... If I got the death penalty for being too serious, these are the two that could laugh me to death.

  • ty anteatr23 :) for taking the time to upload this interview! Very fun to watch --- I love both comedians even more now!

  • "...nutty pistons..."

    O Jeebus!

  • "Oh Have we got that DVD"

Was the last thing Ricky said after the credits. I wonder if it was a signed copy of Extras XD

  • "This is a fucking work of art."

  • Absolutely loved it! Thanks for uploading!

  • Thoroughly enjoyed.

  • LD...brilliant!!!

  • Much respect to LD, you made my upbringing a whole lot more enjoyable

  • "I've never had a tilty need"

  • loved it, thank you.

  • jajajaja....

  • Loved watching this interview. Thanks for the upload. They are both fucking brilliant. And yeah, Larry loosened up his leisure suit with Gervais. Interesting insights from both sides into life in general really.

  • ricky did a good job getting larry to open up a little in an interview. really interesting stuff

  • Aaw, last part of the interview only 2:28 long. Such a slap in the face...

  • everyone wants to befrriend \LD the man shits comedy gold even when he sleeps

  • "This is a fuckin'...work of art..."

  • nutty pistons

  • ...zzzzzz! the clips were the coolest.

  • great stuff two ledgends

  • Get the feeling that Ricky really wants to be buddies with Larry ^^

    Great great interview, loved this

  • @stewartcarl me too, and It doesn't even need a nut shot

  • Thanks for uploading this :)

  • ...yeah, twin cam...

  • that was one of the best interviews i have seen. very funny.

  • this was wonderful! i love larry david and i love ricky gervais too! both of them together are amazing and so funny!!! thank you so much for posting this anteatr23!

  • this is a fukn monster!!lol

  • great stuff. 2 of my favorite people in show buisness.

  • Good show. They both seemed pretty genuine which was nice.

  • the laugh when he says "camry, camry, that;'s what you should be hearing" kills me.

  • amazing interview ... have to say it was pretty good, prettaaaay prettaaaay , prettay good !

  • Larry looks so nice if you watch this after you've seen the interview with Garry Shandling.

  • @kunc EXACTLY what I did.

  • How can he not be familiar with the 2000 year old man? It is a classic Rob Reiner and Mel Brooks act. I am a bit disheartened by this. I think that Ricky Gervais is an OK comedian, not knowing this bit is bad. It is fundamental to modern comedy.

  • @ScipioAfricanusI um are YOU familiar with it? Perhaps if you were you would know it is a CARL Reiner and Mel Brooks act!

  • can someone PLEASE tell me what season the clip where he is selling cars is from!?!

  • @Fern0111 google it

  • @Fern0111

    season 2 ep 1

  • The cunt clapping at 2:01

  • @CCCoNeTiMe LOL, some one has been watching too much porn.

  • ricky will be on curb in season 8

  • the way larry says 'this is a fucking work of art' is hilarious

  • @remcotorken Yep; one of my favourite moments of Curb.

  • @remcotorken Yeah, that bit got me good.

  • Cant wait for Curb to come out. Ricky and Larry working together would be soooo good.

  • Press 0:00 or 0 on keyboard over and over again.

  • @funktapus Hahaha

  • @funktapus lol

  • I forgot how I stumbled upon this interview, but I'm happy I did. Thanks for the upload.

  • Cant wait for season 8 to see these two genius' working together.

  • @monkeytriangle666 only 1 episode :\

  • @bcthighs I heard it was more than 1 episode but I dunno.

  • "I've never had a tilting need" LOL

  • This interview was so much more enjoyable to watch than the Gary Shandling one-wow. What a difference - Larry David is so bright and much less egotisitcal than Shandling. Amazing when you consider that he has so much more to be proud of than Shandling. The rapport and flow of conversation was much better.

  • 2000 year old man is a famous comedy skit with Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner

  • never mind figured it out ( 2000 year old man, cartoon bit)

  • whats the album their talking about at the end ? 2000 euro whats that?

  • These guys are the brilliant!

  • Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful insight into both these brilliant comedians.

    Much appreciated

  • This was such a great interview.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Went much better than the Garry Shandling interview. A great watch

  • BTW, An Amazing interview by Gervais. Thank fuck this is down on film cause we see Larry as he is. Genius.

  • Larry david is the one American that could make a successful British sitcom.

  • I want more of this!!! I could watch them/ listen to them talk for hours.

Also, this is completely unrelated, but do people find the verification letters for when you write too many comments really hard to distinguish?

  • thanks.

  • " This is a fucking ... work of art."

"You know, you don't have a need to tilt in this car. I have never had a tilting need."

  • Thanks for uploading! Fantastic and truly inspiring interview between two modern day geniuses.

  • I need to watch curb more. I forgot how funny it was.

  • I would love to se them collaborate on a episode of curb.. I think mutual respect is the best kind... Thanks for putting it on youtube, brilliant really!

  • @jockenor71 season 8 ... ricky's guest starring .. gonna be great

  • really great to see two such highly intelligent people speaking honestly about their craft - these are the two funniest people on the planet, but they seem like just average joe's on the face of it, and they're so humble, which i guess is intrinsic to the whole art - i'm actually walking away from this feeling maybe i could write comedy, even though i'm sure after about an hour of trying i'd realize i'm an idiot

  • that ending is brilliant, where you can see Larry lets Ricky in to his life, not many people get that from Larry

  • nutty pistons!!! lol

  • Awesome! It closes out with Larry David getting Ricky Gervais a copy of Mel Brooks' and Carl Reiner's '2000 Year Old Man' NICE!!

  • 2 of the best ever in their field. thats a rarity to get 2 of the best of any subject in a setting like this. awesome

  • This was amazing.

  • There wasnt one scene from curb your enthusiasm that didnt make me laugh in this whole interview.

  • "Archie huh, My wife's name is Veronica." LOL

  • "Shirley..." "Hey thats my mothers name..."

The lack of facial expression shown from Larry just made me burst out laughing, brilliant!

  • brilliant

  • LARRY DAVID IS MY GODFATHER AND JERRY SEINFELD AND RICKY GERVAIS ARE MY COOL FUNNY UNCLES:D

  • this made me love both of these guys more than i probably should

  • 1:28 LOL

  • Fantastic. Thank you so much for the upload!

  • This was an amazing found on youtube, thanks.

  • The new Odd Couple for the Millennium...

  • the narrator of this has a sketty grand daughter.

  • thanks for uploading!

  • andrew sachs done the narration?

  • i would love to see ricky doing this with louis ck.

  • @Pontusky YEEESSSSS

  • @Pontusky OMG YES.

  • @Pontusky There is going to be a special coming out soon called Talking Funny and its Ricky Gervais, Louis CK, Jerry Seinfeld, and Chris Rock basically just sitting around talking about comedy. Should be really great.

  • @Pontusky HBO Special: Gervais, Louis CK, Seinfeld and Chris Rock. Talking Funny.

  • @Samsonetti9 thanks man, does anybody know when "talking funny" will air?

  • @Pontusky talking funny?

  • @MightyNonsenseMaker Talking Funny wasn't out while he wrote this message.

  • @F2Y oh sry about that...

  • @Pontusky Look up "Talking Funny".

  • "You don't need to tilt in this car. I've never had a tilting need."

  • At least this was a good interview, Ricky with Garry Shandling was awkward and I get the feeling Garry didn't really like Ricky all that much

  • Mehh not bad, but at least 20 minutes was just clips from various shows. Would have liked to see more of the interview itself.

  • "YEAH IT'S TRUE YOU DO GET THE MUNCHIES!!"

haha great stuff, thanks for posting.

  • brilliant.

  • Can everyone please stop fishing for thumbs up's?

  • 0:57 .... they "crow-barred' that in, just like they were complaining about in the previous video :P

  • I think I am going to have to watch the Office and Curb all over again after hearing these guys talk about them.

  • I wish Larry David pushed over that SUV!

  • @2112murphy It's true Andrew Sachs hasn't done much TV acting the past 30 years (starred in failed sitcom Every Silver Lining), but there are 10s of 1000s of excellent actors out of work. Don't knock narrating. For nobodies it pays £40-50/hr; for names it's VERY lucrative. Anthony Head has done it a lot, including many Dr Who Confidentials & Torchwood Declassifieds. Sachs does that, audio books & commercials. So does Stephen Fry; its not a comedown.

  • good stuff

  • "This is a fucking work of art!"

Larry the car salesman is brilliant.

  • This is a fuckin work of art!

  • "larry your rich you have no need to work why do you do it?" " gotta get outta the house" LOOOOOL

  • Thanks for upping this, one of the most interesting interviews I've seen.

  • nice

  • Thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed it so much that I can't help but wish it was longer.

  • thanks for posting that, it was awesome!

  • thanks for posting. was great.

  • Sorry, That's Peter KAY.

  • @Skenzed WHAT...thats a joke right....peter kay is boring

  • @Skenzed

Peter Kay is probably a better character actor than Gervais, so is steve Coogan. Stewart Lee is probably a better standup than Gervais and Armando Iannucci is probably a better writer. Russell Brand is a better performer, and Operation Good Guys was probably a better "mockumentary" than The Office.

But all-round Gervais is the best thing to happen to British comedy in about 30 years, those guys couldn't do half of what he's done. Thats why he's achieved global recognition.

  • @ch1mpanzeethat

Yeah I agree that it's Gervais' all-round ability that stands him apart, as a writer, director, screen performer, stand-up, etc.

I truly believe he will be looked back upon in 30/40 years time as one of the all-time greats.

  • Love the laugh at the beginning.

  • 1:20 ..Sounds great, I'd buy it!!

  • larry david is quality, curb your enthusiasm and the simpsons are the only american comedys i can watch over and over and still laugh

  • komedies*

  • fuck off

  • eat a dick

  • This is the 2nd time i've watched this interview

    Larry is a genius

  • Bravo indeed :)

  • Bravo!

  • dont forget big steve merchant

  • most of the stuff ricky gervais has done without steve merchant is shit (excluding his stand up) look at ghost town or the invention of lying i bet cemetary junction will be good

  • it's true, even his stand up is lacking somthing. its not on the same level as like the office an stuff. steve merchant definatly needs more credit thn he gets.

  • @CopyriteInfringement u think he"s all by himself writing noway their best friends they would b contantly brainstorming ideas even if he was payn him

  • The Invention Of Lying is one of the best comedies of last year, what are you talking about?

  • that may be in your opinion but you can't say it's groudbreaking comedy, a lot of the jokes were broad aimed at a pg-13 audience and was ultimately doomed to fail

  • @kblixt that movie was absolutely rubbish ricky knows it total shocker

  • @keysersoze0bisto its not that, its that rickys running out of stuff ,its sad but true those to movies were 2 scoops of shit

  • Comment removed

  • Can't believe Ricky Gervais hasn't heard the two thousand year old man..

  • Together with Trey Parker (South Park), these are the greatest comedians on the planet. That's not an opinion. It's a fact.

    Thanks for uploading!

  • Fucking brilliant. Two of my favorite contemporary comedians.

  • This is pobably the third or fourth time I've watched this in the last year or so, so I guess it's time for a 'thank you for uploading'.

  • I just saw somebody say please work together, these are probably my two favourite comedians period. I can't believe I didn't consider that...

That would be something special. They really could create something fucking incredible. I'm gonna write to them both begging them lmao just in the miarculous chance it may happen.

Can you imagine, they're both masters of playing with the social fopar and Gervais especially at ultra-cringe... It would be utter hilarity.

  • They can respect each other and each others work and get along very well IRL all they want, but to work together there has to be real production chemistry y'know? I just wish they would do something together too.

  • Well I think you can tell from this alone they have chemistry that would work.

They agree and both know a lot about comedy and get annoyed by the World in similar ways.

  • They are both masters of comedy. If they were to work together it would have to be organic, otherwise it would end up being disastrous. It couldn't be contrived because it wouldn't be authentic and they would be butting heads. David is typically light and gervais is dark, I could see that becoming a huge problem if they shared creative control.

Just my opinion. I love them both.

  • Gervais and David are both dark.

  • fopar lol

  • Gooood stuff.

  • Loved it. Thanks for uploading.

  • I have a newfound respect for both larry david and ricky gervais after watching this interview, both are superstars yet average blokes. Nothin but genius in this series.

  • I think they would end comedy if they worked together. It would be "un-toppable" even by them

  • @Muffdiva360 ...Oh, geez, I was meaning to give you a thumbs up, and did the thumbs down in error. My apologies and should be +7 at this point, dear Muffdiva360. How fittingly neurotic is this post!

  • They're all actors, of course.

LD auditions them to check that they'll be good in an improvised situation like this and that they'll look realistic and non-actorly

  • DOES ANYONE know if the 3 individuals looking to buy a car...were they actors or not?

    i'd like to know...

the first guy i think. actor.

second and third great job acting if they were.

  • yer they were . if u have the dvd look at the extras

  • Belief is hope even if all evidence goes against it? Finding false hope is just false comfort. (@ dieselhart1)

  • It was great seeing these two geniuses of comedy sitting together discussing what they do best.

  • Great interview. I love both of these guys and their shows!

I wonder if Gervais had really never heard of the 2000 Year Old Man?

  • i had the same thought. I can't believe he hadn't...
