oh you two are beautiful and so funny ! i have just laughed alot at your bloopers reel. your message was warm, honest and so full of love. it's lovely to see two people so clearly in love, and that is what this campaign is all about. spreading love and hope. WELL YOU DID THAT.
Thank you for this video, you've made me see a future for myself.
Just showing your wedding photos made me realize that I can have a wedding with two brides in gowns. I know it sounds stupid but in all the lesbian weddings I've seen/heard of, one bride is wearing a suit.
Now I know I can have my dream wedding and see my bride in a dress.
@donkyheads2 I'll admit that I can be naive about internet "anonymity". Your comment says you're 15, but your profile says you're 25, so...whoever you are, however old you are, if you're telling the truth (and if you are, I apologize for assuming you might not be), I strongly encourage you to find a safe adult you can talk to about what's going on. It really doesn't last forever. Some people are hateful and moronic and abusive -- but they don't get the last word.
@bgaigirl many teenagers use earlier dates of birth because if you are under 18 there are some videos youtube doesn't let you watch. When I was a teenager my profile said I was 21. That's what I think.
@phantomsuccour That makes sense. Thanks. I have received a lot of hateful, venomous comments here (which I have opted not to approve), so I feel a little leery when something seems a little off. I truly hope @donkyheads2 finds someone to talk to. Or, at the very least, that he keeps watching these It Gets Better videos.
@bgaigirl Yeha it saddens me that there are so many people with hate in there hearts. I'm black and gay and if you one day monitored youtube videos with black people, gay people, and jewish people, you will always find a lot of hateful comments. It's sad, but remember as Martin Luther King Jr said or quoted someone, "The arc of history bends towards justice." And let us continually work and be vigilant to make sure the next generation is more tolerant than ours, just like the liberals of 60's
ignore them, ignore the bullies. they have no control over you or your life. if you show them you are hurting then they are winning and you are losing so they will continue to do the same thing cause they know its the only way that they will win. show them you dont care, even if you do and it killls you, smile and say fuck it. you can be happy without them, i promise. dont be a loser, be a winner and dont take your life because ignore fucks that are so low they have to hurt others
Ahh, it's videos like this that make me want to jump up in joy and dance! (the song only furthering it. lol) Btw, your wedding pictures are beautiful!
College kids have learned to grow up :) Ladies ....boys...... if you really want to impress each other GROW UP be mature stop being a child stop bullying. You're making a fool of yourself. Accept don't reject.
Hey Erika. I wanted to thank you (both, but Erika in particular for her story) because I'm in a similar story. My uncle moved in with us about four years ago, just after I realized I was bisexual, and he is very homophobic. My dad isn't, but sometimes he's a bit of an enabler. I'm perfectly comfortable with who I am and most of my friends know that I'm bisexual, but I can't tell my family while my uncle is still at home. It's an annoying situation, but I know it'll get better. It always does.
To all the gay teens being bullied I was to and I transfered to a peforming arts HS. And their were many other gay kids their so maybe that is a way out for you? But it does get better and eventually you'll be out of school and never see these people again. Except maybe at a gay bar you'd be suprised how many bullys are closet cases and come out after HS!
love this video..I'm also from a small midwestern town (in wisconsin none the lesslol) It took me moving to a bigger city to finally come to terms with being gay..but truthfully, it really does get better :) It does....keep your heads held high/
Excellent video! Jenn - you were one of my Orientation Leaders at Carroll. I'm so happy that you made this. I'm definitely going to share it. Your story is an inspiration and I'm so happy that you found your lobster!
Love this video. I've seen many videos about "It gets better" and I made one but yours is definitly one of my favorites. I'm from Wisconsin as well. I feel you on the small conservative town.
you guys are awesome for making this video! it's so comforting to see that a happy ending is possible once you get past the "l word" age range. the joy and happiness that radiates off both of you is truly inspiring. after watching this video i can point to you and KNOW that it does get better.
all the very best, and thank you for speaking out :)
Thanks girls.... beautifully done! I hope these vids helps some gay teens, or anyone that's being bullied for any reason. Everyone gets teased at some point. Let's all stand up against bullying. Talk to your friends about it. IT DOES GET BETTER !
Jehn and Erika, thank you. Your words were very inspiring. It makes me so happy to see that you are both so happy. It gives us hope that there is indeed a brighter future and a better tomorrow.
I too was harassed in school for being bi-sexual. I am now happily married to a man, but my gf of ten years also lives in our household and it is wonderful. We have seven beautiful kids between us and we function as a single household. I couldn't be happier. I was do depressed that I dropped out of high school and got my GED, but now, I too want to reach out to kids that are going through this and say IT DOES GET BETTER!! You need to surround yourself with people who care about you as a person!
I am gay And it is allsow hard for me I am only 13 though this realy hellped I have been in hospitle 5 times for sueside etempts one of the ishuse is me bing gay the sad thing is that I dont want to be I tried to be strait I tried to have a girlfrend It was hard I wish I could exept it like you
Gah! Curses! My wife and I were going to make a fake blooper reel because we thought of lots of funny stuff to do afterwards. Now you guys stole our thunder!
Your wedding photos look beautiful.
