  • FAKE

  • And now, we are dealing with fallout from Japan.

  • Comment removed

  • @GokuMcDuck just wait for the awake of Dr. Hiroshima xDU

  • I bet this is what the Comedian was watching during the begining of the movie before he was killed.

  • The most genius move of this was to have parts of Under the Hood being played.

  • That interviewer almost looks a little like Dave Gibbons,

I'm not the worlds biggest fan of the film adaptation of Watchmen,

but I do have to admit these "viral videos" were rather creative.

  • lol all three of them are balled XD

  • They should have kept up with the "viral video" stuff. Who wouldn't wanna see a Vietnam documentary detailing the superheroes blowing the hell out of the Vietcong in 1971 or one on the segment of Nixon's Presidency that was from 1976 to 1984?

  • @EmperorNorton2008 You should totally do it man! XD

  • Who keeps changing the fuckin' channel? STOP IT!

  • dont reply to that last comment. i saw the rest of the video

  • The Watchmen as a movie is a brilliant piece of predictive programming. Look it up.

  • 3 bald headed guys.. looks very current and not 80's enough!

We NEED some BIG HAIR and mullets to make it work!

  • The bald guy is just a damn pinko!

  • Did Snyder make this?

  • The shoes are awesome

  • Is this fanmade or original material?

  • WHO keeps changing the channel?!!?

  • it's amazing how detailed this movie (Watchmen) is.

  • You should read the graphic novel. :)

  • i have.

  • doctor manhattan probably got alot of tickets for indecent exposure lmaolmao

  • lol

  • Alexander Slotin, the real dr manhattan

  • dr manhattan was a real dude he exploded glowing blue in the demon core on the manhattan project

  • This is cool. It's kinda like being in the book.

  • at 1:06 is that woody allen?

  • No, it's Wally Weaver.

  • My uncle was in Vietnam, and whenever Dr. Manhattan would come around, all the soldiers would swarm around him and get high. Because just by touching him you could get high. Then my uncle got sick.

  • My dad was in Vietnam and he never saw him...

  • They called him Babe Ruth

  • maybe because he is fake

  • Oh, really ? What a genius...

  • I love you for this.

  • Why isn't The Comedian wearing his mask?

  • because he was is working for the government in Vietnam war

  • This is one of the best little thing's I've saw. I wonder if thenewfrontiersman made this or he just got it from the watchmen guys

  • It's viral marketing, one of the best i've ever seen.

  • The World should be grateful when a Being like the Doctor exists... but our race never could be. We're too jealous and condemned to death.

  • Hal Eisner? Heh.

  • wally weaver looks like woody allen

  • I remember watching this in 1985 and wondering at the potential fallout that could occur.

  • Ha ha, you think Watchmen is just a film? Wait till Dr Manhattan hears of this.

  • Now he's trying to turn this into a joke when he was clearly trying to look smart.

  • @sexteta He hasn't been on earth since 1985...

  • @audveltadmuna Fair point

  • someone doesn't understand sarcasm

    ignorant boy

  • Was it sarcasm? Didn't seem like it to me.

If it was then I'm sorry, but I doubt it.

  • My memory serves me right. It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.

  • My God...

    Well, learn to observe.

  • You're stupid.

  • This has been World in Focus.

    Next on NBS:

The Last Laugh : The Comedian in My Lai

  • oh, i am so gonna buy those shose!

  • Yay! More Hollis Mason!

P.S. I watched the film twice and I liked it!

  • it would have been perfect if the entire film was filmed in this format

  • The murder of Hollis Mason was not in the theatrical cut. It will probably be in the Directors' Cut DVD.

  • It is, it was one of the last scenes cut out apparently.

  • i had a feeling about that. The scene in the bar, i swore i saw the same knothead in the foreground that killed Hollis and they were just going to show it in flashback when Dan confronts him.

  • Clearly Nixon secured a third term.

  • i love viral media

  • What are the credits from? At the end?

  • I'd like to know as well.

  • Supposedly it's the names of the people behind the viral marketing.

  • It's called viral marketing.

  • Yes it did answer the question.

Viral marketing means the movie maker ad department is creating a new reality to spread word of the movie. Since Watchmen takes place in an alternate universe making tv ads, fake documentaries spreads word of the movie to the masses.

It's pretty effective and real geeky to boot. The issue with viral marketing is to sell the product without making it appear you are selling a product and have people recognize the product.

  • Wow, you're not very smart at all.

  • Yes we're gonna have a wingding

    A summer smoker underground

It's just a dugout that my dad built

In case the reds decide to push the button down

We've got provisions and lots of beer

The key word is survival on the new frontier ~ nader paul kucinich gravel

  • Or form an original opinion.

  • The Squid is a ridiclous ending. It was a joke putting it on screen for various reasons. The movie ending makes far more logical sense.

  • I was worried that they had changed the endings but i was very pleased how they did it

  • The reason Veidt uses an alien squid is that the alien is neutral in the Cold War. However, Dr. Manhattan is working for NATO and even though he ditched Earth for Mars, that doesn't change the USSR's view of America. Making Dr. Manhattan look like the villain in the end, looks like America's weapon backfiring on them. Why would the USSR make peace negotiations, if that were the case? An alien would probably get more skepticism from the public, but to unite the world it makes more sense.

  • the Dr. Manhattan bombs were unleashed in several large cities across the world, not just america.

  • but that was in the movie ......

  • Because if Dr.Manhatten can destroy half of New York, what's stopping him from destroying the entire USSR? Or even the world?

  • well he has no fellings towards the world and remember in the end he went off to make his own one.....

  • Yes, WE know that Dr.Manhatten had no feelings (until Laurie made him realize the miracle of life), but to the public eye in the Watchmen universe, Dr.Manhatten is just a weapon.

  • The gag is that he's taken for granted. When he leaves, the Russians get bolder but in the original story notes that between being dominated or devasting war, Russia would choose the later.

  • i still dont get this 3rd term thing for nixon

if he gets elected in 68, he would be on his 5th term

  • That's the point. Success in Vietnam allowed him to extend his term longer than was normally allowed.

  • The Constitution limits a president to two terms period. To get rid of that limit you have to put in another amendment. This would allow him to serve more then two terms.

So yes he is on his 5th term and his face on the Rushmore Mountment. Winning Vietnam gave him the political power as well as Doc Manhatten behind him to have the amendment put in that nullified the two term limit.

  • HOLLIS MASON HELL YES

  • I want my VMN!

  • One of the better releases from The New Frontiersman.

  • MMELTDOWNS! With a fruity fallout taste that will BLOW YOU ALL THE WAY TO CHINA!

    I'd buy those.

  • As long as I crush China when I land. Commie bastards need to end.

  • @axinghitlersballs

Fuck year!!! Take Mexico while you are at it!

  • Wally Weaver? How the hell are you? havent seen u in a while

  • Awesome!

  • did you noticed the photographer has a Knot-top haircut

  • Bald?

  • He has a knob of hair in the back, in the comic its a popular haircut and several minor characters have one

  • Hollis Mason!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant - a live feed of Adrian switching channels.

  • I love how there is a veidt commercial at the beginning

  • Loving the virals for Watchmen. Made me read it again today.

  • Wow! Can you imagine a world without Doc. Man?

  • I almost wish they had done the original ending, but I guess most people wouldnt take it as well as people reading a comic book

  • i think they didn't do it because it would blow their budget out of the water. Doc manhattan and mars was already a lot of cgi to do.

  • it's more likely they didnt do it because the mainstream wouldnt accept a squid ending

but it leaves a few plot holes, like why Adrian was working on gene splicing to get Bubastis

  • maybe they cud say he likes furry rare creatures?

  • He just wanted a cool cat.

  • Brilliant! not only will this movie change the way films are made it will revolutionize the way they are promoted.

  • Veidt and Manhattan collaborating on free energy...I heard that has something to do with Ozymandias's destroying New York plan in the movie, in lieu of the Giant Squid. Would've been cool to see the Giant Squid on screen, I always thought it was great, but in the book it did feel a little random and contrived. An technology/fuel-based plot seems to make a little more sense.

  • Why are all the related videos for this "Goo Goo Dolls"? LOL

  • I know! It's weird XD

  • Awesome video. I'm not sure what the point of it is, though. Is it just Veidt surfing through TV channels?

  • In the book Veidt tells the Karnak system to randomly switch through channels looking for his interests on multiple screens, he records it and takes verbal notes of his observations.

  • OK, awesome. I love this vid. :D

  • Kinda unnerving that while Dr. Manhattan possess God-like power and uses it to the whim of the Nixon admistration during Vietnam's conflict, he lacks any concern to stop and think. Veidt ends up appearing as someone who may not have any powers but behaves like a god.

  • cool

  • wow

I loved the novel, and I think I would love the movie..

Paramount is getting a lot from this isn't it?

  • WB is doing the domestic release. Paramount the international. Fox is getting a portion of WB's money. I'd still imagine WB is getting a lot more than Paramount, not to mention Paramount purchased the international rights to the film FROM WB.

  • Cool.
